Personally, am a huge fan of minimalism but too many of his decks are starting to look like a 5-minute job instead of "complexity within simplicity".

Passing it up too.

I think they look great, and they're in interesting colours. Naturally there will be another colour variant rewarded for spending x amount of money. Even though I really dislike the DM brand and it will really eat away at me that I've contributed to that it's a very possible purchase for me.

The Artifice series may have had its share of over-running the course of its life, but the DM line has done this in roughly 12 months. Unfortunately it just has no more appeal, and I'll be comfortably leaving these alone.

With the Artifice line, it was a single basic design offered in a handful of colors, with the "Tundra" deck (a.k.a. Artifice Ghost) being the biggest departure from the basic formula.  One deck line, a handful of colors, period.  Not terribly sexy after all this time, but at least you know what you're getting when you buy an Artifice deck.

With the Madison decks, including the one he created with Theory11, it's been a disjointed series, one after the other, with a string of names that at this point just blend right into each other - Dealers, Hustlers, Players, Rounders, Butchers, Bakers, Candlestick Makers, Tinkers, Tailors, etc., ad nauseum, and with inadequate differences between them to generate enough interest at this stage of the game.  The only name that actually stands out now is Limited, and that's not even an original Madison deck design, it's just an older design with his deck's faces slapped on it - and to me, it wasn't even an improvement on the original face design, which itself was simply USPC standard faces with Artifice indices and a visually interesting color scheme.  At least the earlier designs bore some passing resemblance to classic deck designs used by many Las Vegas casinos or at the least popular with card players.  This "Hustlers" design - I don't know what the heck it is, other than a 10X maginification of a corner of the Dealers with the most bizarre border set-up I've ever seen.

Laughed very hard at the candlestick makers  ;D I found the LTD to be an interesting take on the whole minimal approach to things. The Hustlers design, as it is most likely a 10X magnification of the Dealers, does not look very useful to me, and I feel like it'd raise plenty of eyebrows if you were to pull them out of your pocket and asked someone to touch a card.

I now look forward to seeing further iterations of this series of decks with 'badass' names purely to see the lazy design. We could have a brainstorming session for Dan. If we're thinking of gambling related names I can think of: Folders, Splitters, Shufflers, and Floppers.

That orange color, depending on how it looks without those filters, might be nice. I like the back design on it, but it won't be an instant purchase for me. I might pick one up if I decide to grab a few other things later on though. It's nice, it's just not very different from recent DM decks.
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

I'm surprised about the white "railing" on the cards as if registration is exact on that, it'll show worst than a full bleed design.

I'm surprised too, and even the samples used in the marketing shots are noticeably off center, so that doesn't exactly bode well...

Nothing has been mentioned yet.

E & DM are trying to build some positive momentum.  I would just hold out till late July if I was E. The more people that question when these will be released the better for E. No one gets any information. Just pictures of E's friends showing off their freebies. It's evil but you got to love the strategy!

I remember T11 used to do that a lot; show teaser photos for weeks, get the hype machine going nice and early, etc.  It kinda backfired on them eventually.  They haven't done it much since.

I much prefer getting word about a new release when it's really close to the release date.  And forget teaser photos - just show the cards.  Instead of generating desire in me for the deck, I find it frustrating, eventually wonder where the hell it is, forget about it and find some other shiny trinket or new Kickstarter release.

Long, drawn-out teaser campaigns might have worked a couple of years ago, but not in this market.

All very true. I can't get frustrated over something I'm not buying. I'm just sitting back with a grin on my face reading DM's follower comments on Facebook. Such a contradiction of opinion from Discourse.

Agreed. It was a different ball game when there weren't really any competition to mention. Back in 2009 the Arcanes were teased for months if I recall correctly, and it worked like " ;D :D ". Theory11 did it quite a few times 1-2 years ago and a lot of reactions was that it was overhyped and didn't meet the expectations.

You really need to produce a game changer if you are to pull off teasing a deck actively for months now.
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

Hustlers are available now for black club. They are being branded as casino decks of the 50's and 60's. The branding Is even less imaginative then the design.

The last of the Madison logo series. WTF, no one said they had to stop making Madison logo cards? Just not so many so soon. We like the Madison brand. What a disaster! Way to ruin a good thing.

Madison Logo. I'm sure there'll be more Madison related decks coming about. Next week DM will instagram a 1mm away photo of a card with some edgy Jayden Smith quote like, "How can we be close, if we aren't even - Madison says".

They didn't say it would be the last of the Madison brand just the last ones using the logos.

In a weird move they decided to put white borders on ONLY the sides of the cards and they made one side thicker than the other for a one way effect...that must be the imaginative part they meant, lol

I for one didn't like the colors at first, but.....

initial thoughts.... now I am kinda getting won over. First of all, my wife LOVES the color and design, but she's a graphic designer - sadly now she wants these cards for herself, so I have to hide em. (she's obsessed with finding which Font they're using - Sloop Script One Medium?)

1 way back design side to side and top to bottom - which makes for a pretty side design - short ends look like a casino deck, long ends look like a normal deck (in the stack)

Side borders help hide reversed cards
Smooth handling
Did I mention no tuck seal on the box?
Double backer
Joker card reveal

I think of all D+M cards, these are up there with my favorites.

Seriously though, the "reveal" isn't clear enough to use for anything. Also, do E hold shares in knife production? Little (or a lot) irresponsible to make knives look cool when a lot of the people on their social media accounts seem to be quite young.
