So while the kids were watching Despicable Me 2 for the 46th time this weekend, I decided to snoop the internet. I came across this deck, and while I'm not a fan of the back, the $8 price tag seemed reasonable. Printed by USPCC, no mention of finish though. Shipping for one deck is $5, shipping for two is $8.36, shipping for three is $9.22 and is the same for four decks. To my house in North Carolina anyhow.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

I've been digging to find the original topic for this deck, but no luck - this came out over a year ago, if I'm not mistaken.  Dan and Dave have been selling it on their Art of Play website for $10.

  • Charm gets you quite far. Guile gets you the rest.

Same.. I know it's there somewhere, I remember reading it not that long ago..

Novel fact: This was one of the decks used for Luxx and JP playing cards 'find this image' contest to win a Jerry's Nugget deck through the Luxx FaceBook page a little while back.

I don't know if I really like it though... It uses the vaguely-in-the-spirit-of the American flag design on the back and Americana really kills an aesthetic for me...

Kickstarter completely revolutionized the way I waste money.

The people who handle playing cards are always in a world of delicate fingertip technology.

It's a quirky promotional gimmick for a store that sells camping and survival-related supplies.  Any traveler knows that a deck of cards can be essential no matter where you're going, so they make their own and more people learn about the company as customers play with non-customers.  Many of their products have a similar design aesthetic.

I thought it odd that I would come across something on the wee ole internet that wasn't covered here. Oh I searched before I posted, and after wiping the confusion drool away I decided to post it up.

I see what these cards were intended for, but regardless of the design or size of the font, with the campfires we had, visibility was never a problem. Oh and I think they're ugly.

Trust me, my friend, you aren't - and weren't, in the original topic - the only one!  I think they did that index size somewhere between normal and jumbo for the sake of being different - and I've said it before, "different" does NOT always add up to "better"...
