Is it wrong that my 1st reaction was........

Redo the courts and take Zombie out of the name and you actually have a pretty nice looking deck? I guess immortilizing 12 backers into the deck is kinda cool.

I really like the tuck design....minus the Zombie Apocalypse part  :)

Good Luck gentlemen!

To me, this looks like a neutered Karnival deck!

I'm curious about how the designer came to the conclusion that a few stains around a pip is supposed to make it look "zombified" - it's like having a zombie phone, a zombie dishcloth or a zombie beer.  They're INANIMATE to start with, so REANIMATING something that never was ANIMATE to start with stretches the premise a little thin.  (Oooh, look - my zombie phone is trying to bite that Samsung and turn it...into a WINDOZE phone!)

I am sick to death and zombification of seeing so many zombie decks.  Someone please split my head with an axe.  I wouldn't mind if someone made a new zombie deck that was HEAD AND SHOULDERS above what came before it, but most of them don't meet that standard, becoming just another zombie in the horde, chasing down a scrap of brains...and coming up empty...

The fact that the spots on the deck back make a one-way pattern is almost trivial in comparison.

I am really really really really really really really really really really sick of zombie decks.  :mindf-ck:

While it is a good idea to be immortalizing 12 of your backers into the court cards and displaying their zombie potraits, wouldn't it suck if i am not 1 of the 12, paying to see a random strangers portrait? While there are other decks who do the same, i think they actually have courts that stick to their theme, with maybe famous characters from that theme taking up the majority of the courts, while only releasing a couple for the backer community.

But that's just me complaining because i won't pay that money to see my zombie face, not on this deck at least. To say the least, i have seen enough zombie decks to have an amazingly high threshold for the next zombie deck i would get.

Oh, did i mention i am so sick of zombie decks?

Not a fan of Zombie decks, or anything zombie-related. I was hoping that the zombie fad had passed.

I think the zombie fad is slowly fading out, it will take a while though.

I don't have a problem with zombies but I just have a problem with how everyone does the same thing (or at least feels like the same thing).  I agree with Don in saying that I would probably get a zombie deck if it was actually something original and better than the average zombie deck out there.

You naughty, naughty man...  :))

Not while "The Walking Dead" still has good ratings...

The zombie fad is unfortunately not going anywhere - it's just hit the mainstream.  We're going to see a lot more (ugh) zombie decks before the trend ends...and zombie books...and zombie movies...and zombie parades...zombie diapers...zombie milk..."Zombie Nation"...Zombie Fulton's Spare Parts and Brainatorium...

Don't say anything.  Just read.  Let it soak in a while.  Then comment!

The question still remains: "Is there a winning formula for a zombie deck?"  Perhaps it's the Lo-Vision Index Deck for the Milky-Eyed Zombie-Impaired...

You know, I rather like the illustration in that ace of spades.  Looks a bit Scary Stories to me.  Now that I think about, a deck with Scary Stories styled art would be flipping awesome.

Make one that knocks everyone's socks off, you can pitch 'til your arm falls off!

When traveling territory that's been so thoroughly explored, it's hard to find an unbeaten path.  In that category, it's like looking for untrod soil in downtown Manhattan...

now truly a 2 way back

A few eagle-eyed fans have brought to our attention that the original back design was “one-way”, so we have created this new two-way back. Most of our backers may not even notice the difference, but for any magicians out there, we hope you like the subtle change. We love the feedback. Keep it coming!

I pitched sketches of my monster deck privately months ago before I released it here and I got positive feedback (even from some members on the forum so I thought I had something good). As soon as I was ready to launch it, I got very little feedback. Once it did launch I was told the theme was "tired" ...so it's tough to figure this game out. If the artwork is kick ass it usually will do good but it's getting tougher even with awesome artwork bc it's not just about the artwork. The theme has A LOT to do with it.

I am a fan of zombie decks. I actually pledged for your project. I like zombie decks bc they can be fun to use during a family game night or with friends.

At this point I would encourage you to stick around and become part of the playing card community. There are a lot of cool people here but they know what they want. It can be discouraging if you are pitching something they don't want but I promise you will learn a lot about cards if this is the industry you want to get into.

We have a few designers on top of their game right now. You probably read about them. Reach out to them and hear what they have to say.
