Who wants to bet the ideograms mean Hong Kong?

Hong Kong looks different in Chinese (it's two characters). I got a friend that can read Chinese to confirm it says "Poker" in Chinese characters.

Sensible enough, since it says "poker" in English just below it...  (D'oh!)

It looks like they've changed the release date to match the Exquisite. The Legends v 2.0 will be released on Thursday afternoon.

Oh my god yes.

Yes.

Yes yes yes.

Did I mention yes?

My favorite non-USPCC deck ever released with a sweet box, and awesome tax seal, and black ink.
My wallet's going to be walking funny after this one.

And yeah. 扑克牌 (pūkèpái) is poker. It's also the word for a single playing card.

Ok, wow!  I really love that CARC has been trying out various manufacturers for playing cards.  This Taipei company has done an excellent job with the Legends v.1 and now the Legends v.2 and Exquisite decks.  They feel amazing, and only get better with use.  The registration is dialed in perfectly, something that we don't quite get with USPCC (although they have gotten a little better with some of the decks I've seen recently).  CARC + Sullivan + Stutzman = Exceptional (and Exquisite)

I'm also really enjoying these Pack Jackets.  I expect this to being a new trend in the playing card markets.

Here are a couple pic I snapped today...more to come.

I can also attest to the fact that they have hit upon a great combination here. Their latest products are extremely good, with some facets that (unfortunately) USPCC has not been able to reach yet. The art registration and edge quality is simply superb, there is no other way to state it. I riffled through an Exquisite and the art does not move at all. Not a hair. It is the way it should be, frankly, and very refreshing. Compared to my latest Deco deck, it's disheartening as a designer to look at them side by side.

While I'm not an expert cardist the handling on the latest decks is extremely good IMO. While the cards feel a little different from my USPCC decks, I think they are the equal in cut-ability,  fan-ability and stock snappiness. (As an aside, I compared a 54-card stack of Exquisite to my of Bee Casino Deco and Deco is 3 cards thicker.) I'm very impressed on the whole.

As Chris said, the new pack jackets are very nice. While not a true card clip in the sense that it will squeeze your cards flat, if you are looking for a slim way to put a deck in your pocket and keep it flawless, you really can't beat them. The material feels great to the hand and is seriously strong. I tried to rip an edge and couldn't.

I know that CARC is somewhat of a smaller player compared to the hype-machines of T11 and D&D but Conjuring Arts are exploring new things and I find that very exciting. I'm considerably more jazzed about this stuff than something like the "nice but predictable" releases like a new JAQK color.

Are you talking just about the Exquisite deck?  I'm a little confused...

Bill has mentioned to me that in his opinion, the Exquisites are a little bit better than the Legends.  I'll know for myself soon enough; I'm visiting CARC tomorrow afternoon.

Damn I was hoping that this deck was going to retain the characteristics of the V1s

Its sad to read that they are going to be normal decks....

I won't be buying those...

Also those anybody thinks that Blaine has been too quiet lately? Any chance he will do some kind of deal for this Black Friday?

Like I said, Lawrence is trying to position the deck as a staple deck, for the everyman and not just for the magician.  If every pack of Bicycle Rider Backs was marked, you wouldn't get too many legit card players using them, would you?  :))

You know, if you look at the design, there's nothing stopping the inventive magician from altering a v2 Legends deck to have your own custom markings....  THAT would be a smart way to go on this, I think - knowing it's an unmarked deck at retail, few would suspect a pack of blacks to be marked, would they?  It would be easier in some ways than marking a pack of Bikes.

Yes, Blaine has been quiet - but he ALWAYS is quiet.  He doesn't start hyping until he's ready to start carpet-bombing...  I don't think he'd have a new release for this weekend, but the holiday shopping season is still young.  He might offer a sale, though.

What, two-and-a-half hours?  D&D probably sold out the S&Ms up to v6 in about that time!

There weren't that many on sale in the first place - I didn't think they'd last long.

Got these beautiful things in today. While I haven't used em to much, to busy with the Exquisite's :P. I can honestly say these are amazing. Based on first impressions I feel they are better than the first Legends. If you didn't get any I suggest you try getting at least 1 after market, You wont be disappointed!

Got my 2 today and I just want to make sure of something.  The one deck I opened had one Joker and one Blank.  Is this expected?  I know my V1's have two Jokers.

I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere, but the deck I opened is the same flyers, one Joker and one blank.
