I'm not sure what I think entirely on this deck.  It has some nice-looking elements, but cut-n-paste work on the courts rather than really making them custom.  I think the designer could have made this better.  He's aiming for urban/hip but doing so in a somewhat lazy fashion.

And that "Rule Rebel" thing - interesting little curiosity.  If you're a die-hard card player who knows there are games out there other than poker or solitaire, it could prove to be a fun way to perk up games you've been playing for years.  Or it could just be a novelty, annoying after the first few games.

My bet?  He created the Rule Rebel deck and made the Urban Punk deck as a means by which to sell it.

And is it me or does this project have an insane amount of extras?  It's as if to sell playing cards today, you have to become your own little knick-knack industry...

Opinions, people?

I actually really like some of the T-Shirts and Hoodies they have available. Though I think the decks are hideous.

These days with kickstarter, you have to pledge for your deck(s), Add on some Dice, add on a card clip, a t-shirt and a puppy.

it used to be, we've raised 10K great metallic inks on the cards,
12k free dice for everyone!
15k embossed box,
21k metalic foil an the box
40k free puppy for everyone

OK so i'm lying about the puppies!

But I know how i preferred it.

An overenthusiastic Banksy fan?

I've seen worse decks, to be sure, but this one could have been better executed.  Factor in that it's really more of an ad gimmick to sell the other deck, and I lose interest.

Imagine if these courts were actual spraypainted characters done in the style of Banksy or one of the other notable graffiti artists...  It could have been great.

Oh, and the card back reminds me too much of caution tape and bumblebees.  It's not at all in the style of the card fronts, with the minor exception of a few spraypainted bits.

Don, please don't disrespect Banksy in that way... As for the deck, I understand what they were going for, but, in my humble opinion, not well executed at all... However, like most of these ridiculous kickstarter decks that have bastardized my hobby, it may very well get funded...

No. Absolutely not. The cards are simply hideous.

Worse, they're lazy.  I'm hoping they crash and burn, but there's enough people out there with little taste and undiscerning eyes that it (unfortunately) stands a chance.

So, the project got canceled...and revived.

The designer opted to drop the Rule Rebel deck altogether and just go with Bicycle Urban Punk.

Half the goal, and in the first day raised more cash than the previous project's entire run.
