NEW DE'VO CUSTOM DECK/SERIES IN THE WORKS.
1 more Special Edition "Blades" deck is currently in the works and looking hot! De'vo is going all out! After the release of this special Edition release, De'vo is starting a new series. Look for it early next year.

So - anybody got the dirt?  :))  Anyone wanna GUESS at what's on De'vo's horizon?

Honestly, I am not sure if this series can be more stretched...

From what little I've heard so far, this will be the final Blades deck.  New series begins early next year, no Blades any more.

  • Card for me maybe?
Different colours? All I see are colour variations, perhaps different borders now? I can't seem to think out of the box since the blades are more or less the same :|
Stalking the forums, I'm in that corner!

Last deck in the blades series, all other blades decks have same design. I'm guessing this will be yet and the color variation. Gold? Blue?

Hmm... Since the edition is supposed to be "special" and he's already made a "silver edition", a metallic gold edition with Magic Finish would be a pretty special edition, indeed...  :))  It would simply be a matter of which back design to use: one of the old ones or something new and very original.

I'm also guessing a color variation. However, I'm betting this won't be released without a good amount of hype. And "another series"? That's just De'vo, isn't it?

So what the hell happened to this deck?  Wasn't it supposed to be released by Christmas?  It doesn't even appear on their "Coming Soon" list.  Anyone have any news on this?

I really thought they were did it all with their foiled, collector's edition of the Bloods. Anyway, that's what it seemed. I guess not. Hopefully, this final deck comes out to be a big bang.

I'll be laughing if he took a page from D&D's book. :D

As annoying as color-variations get I really like the Blades decks, I am excited to see how these look. Won't be decided on them until some pictures come out though.
People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

It amuses me you guys harping on at "just another colour variation" The Blades series are amongst my favorite decks.
First you had the Silver edition the 1st run of which was released in fewer numbers than the 2nd
Then came the White edition Which had the same back design as the silver
Next the Midnight edition a black faced, Black Backed deck with a redesigned simplyfied back design
Then the Blood edition White faced with the same back design as the midnight but with the red colouration, and of course you had the blood metal edition.

The Midnight and White editions are the only decks I've ever bought a full brick each of. and I've actually given away a lot of those.I sent one of each to Allen, CardsRFun on youtube after I saw his review of the silver edition.

If Devo were to release the silver edition design in gold, I'd be all over it like a rash. Whilst I'm not a fan of some of his antics, I didn't buy the Pro cardistry deck or the MMD deck as I thought they were in pretty bad taste.

So to recap that's two back designs available in two different colour variations with one special edition.
Have a think how many decks come in a two colour back design variation.
I'll start of with:
Standard Bicycle red and Blue
Arcane Black and White oh and don't forget that other recolouration the gold.
The list goes on....

Devo is no worse than a lot of other card designers but due to his unpopularity he's an easy Target for those who know no better.

I own the Blades, and they're OK.  They aren't the greatest decks I own, but they're far from the worst.

But the thing that's got me scratching my head, aside from tasteless joke decks and decks without faces of any kind, is that this was announced months ago then suddenly just dropped off the radar, never to be seen again.  Same thing with the final "non-Blades" deck they announced for release by Christmas of this year.  There were supposed to be three, but only two hit retail - MMD #1 and Dominion.  The other just turned to Christmas vapor...

Don looks like the Special edition deck is on hold for now but seems that theres a few more blades decks in the forseeable future, Devo wrote on his facebook:

HL Custom Decks for 2013 - Right now all our efforts are going to the AMAZING Magicians Must Die Comic Deck. We are making a special Comic Con reprint of the first issue with sketch comic cover, will have the all new HOT 2nd issue, and a companion "Blades Deck" featuring the back design of the Blades cards that appear in the 2nd issue. It will be a Cross-over "Blades Deck" made in limited runs. Will feature normal Blades faces, stock and finish, but will have a special back design made specially for each issue featuring a weapon from the comic. Those of you that have MMD #1 saw that the cards used was the Blades Blood Edition, and people loved this! So we decided to make a Blades companion deck with each issue. The will be sold separately. There "may" be a Special Edition Blades Deck and another PRO XCM Deck in the future, but right now everything is geared toward Denver Comic Con and our one of a kind Comic Decks. That's all we have planned thus far for 2013, but anything can happen!

If he wants to get into comics I think the idea of a comic with an accompanying blades deck is a better idea than stretching a comic over playing card faces.
Just read it again, looks like the comic will still be stretched over card faces for future editions.

At least he's redesigning the backs for each of the new Blades decks, I wonder if there'll be different colours??!! Sorry just me being facecious LOL!!!
