There are literally hundreds of ways to force a card. If you are serious about learning good methods I suggest you pick up a book or a dvd on the subject. If you don't really care about learning forces, then you tube is probably the quickest way to learn any random card force. It is not the easiest thing to explain in text, so a video or pictures would be much better.

In my opinion, the classic force is without a doubt the best force to learn.

For future reference, I do not think that it is in the best interest of the Discourse to discuss actual methods of magic tricks. It is not a big deal when it comes to such things as simple card mechanics ( forces, Double Lift ect.... ) but I think it is quite disrespectful to the creators of original effects if methods are blatantly explained and I would suggest we not do it in these forums, it just tarnishes the quality of them.

to Curt: What book would you suggest if I already know a lot of basic forces and want to get a bit more complex?

No worries mate,

As I said, I think its fine to help teach general methods like well known forces and double lifts and such. Its just when it comes to material that methods are not as well know, like newly released products, that we should not post explanations or links to explanations on this forum.

@ JMMJ: Hmm, its a little harder to find material on the more complex forces... mostly because they are just variations of other forces. If you have not learned the classic force, then that would be definitely one to check out. There is a dvd called "40 ways to force a card" that covers a lot of forces, it really just depends on how much you already know. Umm, Jay Sankey does one called the Wichita Slip, that is pretty nice looking but more difficult to do, I think he teaches it on one of his DVD's. But personally I think some of the simpler forces are much more effective than a difficult one, the audience gets the same experience no matter what way you force a card, if you do it properly.

Hoped that helped.

@curt, I agree, I like the simple ones too, my favorite is the riffle force by far.

I couldn't agree more Curt. It is like the classic free tricks offered compared to the new releases that need to be purchased. I would never purchase one and then come online and reveal it...that is just bs

Anyone have any suggestion about card force?
What is the best and most natural for you?

I found the classic force is the most natural but I never use it because I'm too afraid of the risk.
I will force card when I have other gaffs in decks, so it's not an option to do other tricks if the force isn't succeed.

Any ideas?

Slip-cut.  Easy, natural; only time I've ever been caught out is when someone put their finger into the deck while I was doing it; most people aren't going to do that.

Not a great tutorial but enough to learn it

I agree with Kanped, the slip-cut force is one of the easier forces, I've been using it for years. When done quickly,it's very hard to detect.

I don't know what it's called, so I will try to explain it. You keep the card you want forced at the bottom of the pack you spread the cards between your hands, and when they say stop, you pull off the top half, and slide the bottom card of the deck onto the bottom of the top part. Does that make sense? Probably not.

Hmm.. Interesting, I don't know what the published name for it would be but it almost like a reverse of culling a card to the bottom. Seems like it would be a pretty viable way of forcing a card, you could even force multiple cards in a row doing the same thing. I have just played around with it a bit and it seems like something I would use if I can make it a little smoother. Thanks for that.

No problem. Glad I could help. It's the only force I use.

well the one I like to do is to have the top card on top riffle through till the spectator says stop and when he does i act as if cutting it but keep the top card, works great for me.
