I don't get what it is...
Hey Aaron,
We love our film festivals here in the U.S. There are a ton of them! Big ones like Sundance and Tribecca that
mostly show mostly under-the-radar independent films and small ones that show a variety of full-length films
and/or shorts. A good number of the small festivals specialize in the types of films they show - Horror, Animation,
The Big Lebowski! (
http://www.lebowskifest.com/) and a bunch more. They usually have a bunch of categories
and people submit their films, once all the submissions are in they pick the best of them to play in their festival.
I did a little 2-minute Animated Short back in 2005 (
http://youtu.be/vjFeILAyq6g). It played in around 10-12 of the
small festivals across the country. My wife and I only attended 2 of them, one in the San Francisco area and one in
Reno, Nevada. It was a lot of fun and a cool experience.
I'm guessing the Conjuring Creations Film Festival is similar but focusing on shorts related to the playing cards and/or
magic genre. There's also a good number of online-only festivals so this could be one that is seen over the internet.
It would seem risky to hold a film festival for such a specific group at a physical location, it seems like a lot of fans of
the industry are spread out throughout the world. I'm just guessing though, hopefully it'll be fun!
thanks, Randy
