  • Facebook:
I was poking around on the site that's having the special on the Pandora Vine Backs until April 10th and found this:

http://www.magictrickstore.com/diamond-card-case-p-36136.html

For under $3, it's pretty sweet.  While the plastic might not be good for rough-and-tumble use carried in a pocket, they're probably great for storing in a gig case and can do double-duty as an on-shelf display that provides some protection as well.

I wouldn't put every deck I own in one, but I think this would be awesome for those special decks you're exceptionally proud of in your collection, and it's hard to beat the price.  Sixty of these cases at the member's price would run just pennies less than the 60-deck display in black that BMPokerWorld carries.  Yes, they're totally different animals, but it does give you an idea for price comparison.

EDIT: just discovered that membership on this store's site is FREE.  Woot!

I got one from a local magic shop in Singapore at 8SGD. I would say it is pretty good
till it dropped from my table and broke. T-T

It's a given that it's more fragile than a Porper or a metal box case.  But it's not really meant for hard use.  Like I said, best either on a shelf or in your gig pack.

It's kind of different. I would say that the card case that you posted about will be more durable
as compared to the Diamond Card case. Diamond Case is more for displaying decks and the design
of the Plastic Card's Card Case would be blocking the designs of the deck.

Also, if you take a look at the hinges ( or whatever it is called ) of both the cases, they are very
different and you can obviously tell that the Plastic Cards' Case is much more durable.

I would recommend you to use the Plastic Card Case when you are bringing some precious decks out of
home, but for display purposes, like what Don Boyer said, it's not hard use, the fragile Diamond Case would
 be of a better choice.

I apologize for the poorly organized post XD
and if  I'm wrong in any way please do correct me = D

Yeah, that price at Magic Castle Singapore is highway robbery!  Even at the member price it's more than double the price of magictrickstore.com.

I've actually been looking for a case to hold just one deck, but I don't really like the way the texture on the front of that one looks, I'm looking to display a signed deck (when I get it) so I want something that's just clear.

Despite the diamond pattern on the front, the box actually appears pretty clear - I noticed that the Bicycle box in the ad image was easily viewer through the lid.

If you want CLEARLY clear, you can try these displays:
http://discardsing.com/Home_Page.php

Someone posted about these months ago.  They look really sharp, but they're a more semi-permanent display method, and I wasn't alone in not liking the idea of the pack being held in place by the pressure between the front and back plates, since it seems like it would ruin the box if tightened enough to hold the deck in place.  And I think the prices are in Singaporean dollars, which are slightly less than US dollars.

Yeah, I'd seen that site mentioned before, but those displays just look so large. Plus there's no real protection on the sides.  I think something like their acrylic brick box but scaled down for just one deck would be perfect.

...-ly expensive...

The Diamond Box's main selling point: it's cheap and does the job well enough.

Sorry off post, but I just had to say thanks you guys... I've really had a revelation about the banners... Looking at the giant Mana Banner  taking up half the page three times while trying to read this post really isn't obtrusive at all... In reality the fact that this banner is even double or triple the size of others just proves your point even better... It's really pleasing to the eye... Good job on that great Mana Banner... I already gave props to your cards, but the Banner is even greater... It's not annoying or unpleasant to have to look at over and over again... Peace...

@Don... I actually enjoy this forum very much... But I have to tell you that the banners bother me... I know it's a free country and I'm not the sheriff (you are), but I'm don't think I'm on here just to post inflammatory remarks (had to look up trolling)... I would hope I add something of value here (check out the links on the history post)... I'm not on a soapbox, but I don't think it's wrong for me to voice my opinion regarding these ridiculous half page banners that appear three or sometimes six times on one page of a thread... By the way, I'm not alone on this... But as usual, some of our more timid friends would rather PM their support than write it publicly... But that's okay... I will be the voice... hahaha....

KT: use whatever the hell banner you please.  The last thing this board is about is censorship, particularly by the self-appointed.  JMRock is entitled to his opinion, but remember - opinions are like assholes: everyone has one and most of them stink like crap.

JMRock: if people are unwilling to voice their opinions in a public forum, they obviously don't feel very strongly about them.  Voice all the opinions you want, as long as they're yours.  That is, unless you get some particular pleasure out of other people's crap-stink to the point that you want to make it your own...

As far as inflammatory remarks - yes, you do make such remarks for the near-exclusive purpose of generating a reaction.

Now, I'm backing away from this nonsense.  JMRock, it's nothing personal aimed at you - some of the things you do are obnoxious or annoying, but I attack the actions, not the person.  The anonymity of such forums allow people to show sides of themselves they wouldn't normally in public.  But I don't hide behind anonymity any longer, so I try to be the better version of me and not engage in personal attacks.

If I may put in a plug, you guys mentioned magictrickstore.com at the start of this thread. I buy 99% of my magic gear from them. Great customer service especially from a gentleman named Mike.

You may consider it cynical as well.  And at least you're true to yourself, wherever you are - a laudable characteristic.

Awesome.  I was looking at a few other things on his site as well, so now I feel like I can shop with confidence!  :))
