hi everyone (again)
it's me, pushing my studio's debut project for a final time. dichotomia has been a wild wild ride to create and we've had so much support on ks for it. it'd mean the world to me and my partner if you have us a quick look! we're live for only two more days before we'll bump the price up on our online store on our website. we created dichotomia (the deck) and shochu (the studio) as secondary school students (we're now 16 and 18 sitting gases and a levels), so any bit of support would be amazing to help us as young artists.

the deck is themed around east asian culture, with centralised motifs of balance and femininity. all of the deck was conceptualised and created in around six months. the printer is printninja, and i understand that it's no crushed uspcc stock but it is 310gsm black core with linen finish. it was affordable for us as students and we didn't expect such a huge funding making it possible for us to print with a higher quality. we've both been sitting exams so we didn't want to complicate the campaign with stretch goals either, plus the specs aren't the worst.

here's the link if you're interested:

hope you give us a shot! thanks for any support you give us.

Hello, M.oonestone,

I moved your topic into the Playing Card Plethora.  You're no longer merely in the D&D phase - you're running a Kickstarter and you're adequately funded to print, so welcome to the PCP.

You mentioned on your KS page that you two used to try cardistry but found your small hands inadequate to the task.  Have you considered trying it with bridge-sized decks?  They're a quarter-inch more narrow than poker-sized cards - I know of many people with smaller hands who use them, and ironically, they've become the standard for many casino poker tables (the smaller size makes it easier to conceal them when peeking at the indices).

Your project does look interesting, but maybe you should have considered a stretch goal for an upgrade on the printer.  I've only seen a little of PrintNinja's playing card work, and frankly, I wasn't very impressed.  Companies like Expert PCC or Legends PCC would have been within your price range, I suspect, depending on how you budgeted your project.  People around here take their printers very seriously.
