Hello there,

Sorry if this isn’t the right place to post this question.

I’m a new member to this forum and looking to see if anyone can help answer a question. I’ve just recently picked up a few Gemini casino collectors edition decks and one of them is a miscut and the entire suit of hearts is gone as well. I want to know if something like this is worth anything. I know miscuts and misprints are worth something to a few collectors, but to my knowledge this is one, maybe even the only one, out of the 1,000 decks produced to be a miscut. I don’t really have any intentions of ever selling it but I’d like to know it’s value and how rare it really is. I’ve contacted the company about it and they said to keep it cause it’s very rare that a miscut decks slips through USPCC’s quality check, especially one of such a limited number run. So if anyone can help I’d really appreciate it.

Some collectors consider miscut cards, misprints, etc. to be more valuable because of the scarcity of them.  Others will actually consider such decks LESS valuable because they aren't perfect.  It's really up to the individual collector.  It's a lot like how some consider autographed decks - for some it enhances the value, for others, it detracts from it, for yet another group of collectors, it does absolutely nothing to increase or decrease the value.

I will say that if it was a more common deck, the kind of deck magicians would call a "worker's deck" because they'd be likely to use it for performing, cards like that are great because they're sort of like intentionally-misprinted gaff cards.  They can use them in their routines in many creative ways.

To sum up, it's really up to the desires of the individual collector you're trading with, assuming you were to ever trade your deck.  Some will give it a premium, some will knock the price down a bit.  (Many will also ding you on the price because it's an open deck.  New deck collectors, especially ones into custom decks, prefer sealed, mint-in-box examples over decks that have been opened.)
