Just thought I'd share this nice little routine I came across.  The method is pretty obvious if you pay attention but I really like the rainbow deck idea...   so I made one with a whole bunch of extra jokers from decks I've collected and I now have a deck of 52 cards with 49 different backs.  I use the 4 aces out of a blue rider back for the force cards and obviously mine, for the most part, aren't as rare as Lennart's but it's a nice little item and it's a bunch of fun to do.  One for those, like myself, who are collectors who like simple card tricks.

Nice Routine I originally saw at the Essential Magic Conference, and whilst it may have a simple technique for us magicians its still a beautiful baffling effect for most spectators,

and I really enjoy the idea of 48 different backed jokers, if used correctly the fact that they also picked the only non-jokers in the deck could be used as a kicker ending.
Mystery is the basic appeal of magic. Once the secrets are known, the magician becomes a mere manipulator, an actor in a suspense drama which has little impact because the audience knows the ending in advance.

Perhaps you'd be interested in trying something similar with a FREE deck you can get from the USPC?

http://www.usplayingcard.com/pages/custom_cards/10.php

If you request one (or as I did, even two) of those promo decks, they'll send them free.  The backs are identical and obviously one-way, but every single face is from a different deck design.  Many of the cards highlight a specific feature, such as glow-in-the-dark print, custom shapes, things like that.  The Ace of Spades is incredibly impressive - black face with darker black printed onto the card surface.  Reminds me of some of those watches that are all black right down to the hands and numbers.

I mean, hey - they're FREE.  ;)

There's only ONE email address on the entire page.  Say you'd like a sample copy of the deck pictured in the photo.  They're like advertisements, they give them away all the time.

Actually, if I had to guess - I'd say it might not be free that far away.  I don't know if they'd just charge you for overseas delivery or restrict delivery to US addresses only.  If either's the case, get an American buddy on here to accept the deck for you and pay/trade with him/her in exchange for shipping the deck to you.  I'd do it for you but I've already received two at my PO Box and I wouldn't want to sound greedy.  Though I might be able to have it shipped to my girlfriend's address, and that of her parents who live in the next apartment...

Yeah but it's more fun to make your own.  Besides, that deck is £20 plus shipping over here and for what you're getting, to me, it isn't worth it.

Uploaded a video of a stripped-down version of my take on it (had to be self-working to be eligible, so I cut out a trick deal to hide the reveal at the start) if anyone's interested.

There's a picture right on the page I linked to - it's the one that says "BICYCLE - CUSTOM PLAYING CARDS - PROMOTIONAL DECK" in the upper right corner of the page.

If you want to see the individual cards, give me a little time and I'll take some sample photos to upload.

I just got a reply asking for an address to ship it to :) I gave them my Canadian address, we'll see if they do send me one. Though they might be more likely to since I mentioned being in the process of designing a deck(They even asked me details for a quote, I said the design wasn't ready yet but gave them basic info anyway)...

Edit:
I’ll get this shipped out to you tomorrow morning.  Thanks!

Hey guys I got these in a few days ago as an example of a smooth finish deck. To be honest, there is nothing cool about the cards except that Ace of Spades.

the promotional deck is not that bad, i got it recently and use it for suffiling and things that could bend the cards if i screw up.

That's something you need to figure out for yourself.  Get creative!

I think the deck is just smooth finish, perhaps "ivory" finish.

I'm almost completely sure that it's Smooth Finish. When comparing it to my Aladdin decks, they seem to be the exact same finish. But, as it doesn't say anywhere on the box, I can't know for sure.

As I said, I'm pretty sure they're smooth.  It's meant as an advertising/customizing sample, not really for play.

If you REALLY wanted to do that, try going to 809bicycle.com.  They take orders for Rider and Mandolin Backs.  I'm going to talk with a designer friend about helping me whip up a simple design to submit for a business card made from a playing card.
