Playing Card Plethora / Fulton's Chinatown (Yellow) Anyone ever opened it?
« on: September 23, 2016, 01:24:52 AM »
I decided to open up a Yellow Game of Death Deck.
and unlike the original red versions, These Do not fan at all, and also seems to stick in clumps when I Pulled them out.

Stack of 52 cards also was 4-5 cards thicker than the red version
There doesn't seem to be much finish to this.

Doesn't seem like a counterfeit. but I can not find any reviews online on this.

Anyone open these, can let me know their experience?'
Thanks

Im glad I wasn't being overly critical, You summed it up pretty well.
MS statement that you provided seems disingenious,
its not even close to high qaulity. I am more than happy to spend a few bucks more for a deck, and have the stock be up to par, I wonder how much HRG saved doing it this way.

I probably will not backed any decks by him unless I know it is going to be printed by someone reputable. I dont regret buying this one, I sorta regret buying multiples.

Anyone want to trade for a original edition, hit me up  hah

I only opened the standard, im already thinking of trading or selling an original edition, those were like 20 bones each,   If i were to bet, Id say all are the same stock.

Its a air-cusion style finish, but no where near as good,
Dribbles are bad, springs are not too bad cus its soft

The cards are thick but not stiff (no snap), youll notice it is a pretty thick tuck.
Also, Card holds form, so bends can easily create gaps.
So not as easy to handle, manipulate,  or play poker with.

I wouldnt play poker with them, I love the back design on the original edition,
i got 1 ad-card with that back in the standard

i am very curious to see what your opionion

Oh I ment, Jackson Robinson'snew legal tender will be printed by EPCC,
I was slightly surprised.
My point is many producers seems to be printing with non-Uspcc.
However EPCC is a qaulity producer.

Your right, it was just my assumption that it would be printed uspcc, probably because I didnt see any company name that it would be printing it. and Pratically all his other decks was printed by uspcc.

I have no real regret with this project, my slight quibb  is that There is no way of knowing that the cards would be that terrible. i expect even no name printing companies to yeild better result, especially if the product is marketed for collectors or those who have passion for playing cards,

No where on the campaign states card stock will be cheap and terrible. Pease expect it.. :)

Playing Card Plethora / 1864 Restoration - Saladee's Patent Deck of Cards KS
« on: September 17, 2016, 02:25:32 PM »
I just received these Decks (Standard & Original)

I decided to get the Original Version as they have different backs.

Well the look and art are wonderfully recreated, abeit No need for two back designs.
I enjoy All Home Run Games Restorations,
However the Stock and Finish of these cards are pure crap, Initially I thought this would be printed by USPCC.

Cards do not fan, Cards feel really thick, yet flimsy. They Do pharo atleast (one side)
Package, box, all very nice, but really quality of the cards itself is pretty bad. I think this is the new direction of Home Run Games.
Wonder if USPCC is just too expensive. Never thought even JRobinson will be printing with someone other than USPCC.

Overall, I do not regret getting them, The recreation alone is worth it
but I think they should have just released one back design (THE ORIGINAL) as their standard, maybe just cash grab for us completists.

I was wondering if anyone knows who commissioned these older colored decks ?

Purple Rider Back (Standard - Not Reversed Purple Deck done by Magic Makers)
Black Tally-Ho Circle (Not the Reversed Viper or or Penguin Magic White Deck)
Black Tally-Ho Fan (Not the Reversed Viper Deck or Penguin Magic White Deck)
& Different Black Tally-Ho Fan (Not the Reversed Viper or Penguin Magic White Deck)

For example - BMPokerworld did the Brown deck, and Vincenzo Di Fatta did the Turquoise Deck

Thank you all for any info.

A Cellar of Fine Vintages / Need Help Identifying These Aristocrats?
« on: March 01, 2016, 02:55:11 AM »
Hello folks,  I have a few of these decks i Bought
not sure where they came from originally.

Most similar decks has a Casinio Name in place of Aristocrat?
Does USPCC makes and sell these? Are they rare? from what year?
I notice dan and dave has a similar set, but they have a different box and call them Classic Aristocrat (Cards seems to be the same)

thanks!
Any Help would be appreciated.

Okay ,  In this picture  they are both  Blue Seal
but if you notice the tuck box, in the 2nd one, the box is glued together under Cincinnati Label,
unlike the first one.

I have a few bee decks like this also, with a box glues together underneath Cincinnati Label.
all newer decks ONLY have this on the other side, but these have it on both sides.

I am guessing somewhere between 1985 and 1994   but I can't be too sure.
wondering when USPCC went to the tuck box design where they only have a glue seamed on one side.

Look forward to hearing about what you think.

- Classic-style Bicycle box - popular for decades!
- Says Cincinnati on the box with ZIP code - ZIP codes didn't exist until 1962.  Also means the box was printed before the move to the plant in Erlanger in 2009.
- Sticker seal - not older then the mid 1980s.
- BLACK sticker seal - prior to the move in August of 2009, Bicycles usually had red or blue seals on the boxes.  When the company moved, they switched to black seals.  They were printing cards in Erlanger, but still had leftover boxes printed in Cincinnati.  It's a very solid chance that your cards were printed sometime around 2009, perhaps 2010 at the latest, and are likely Erlanger-made.  The Classic style box is still in print, but on a much smaller scale and with the company's new address on it.  The more modern-looking "Standard" box became the mass-produced version as of the move.

Hi experts,  I am a newb collector,
I have a few decks  I need help identifying where they originally came from (ie specialty sets) or stand alone Store versions, and around what year, or if they ae even authentic real bikes.

Basically The Tucks on the side that has Cincinnati, Ohio 45212, There is a seam to where the box is glued, "as show in the pic"
All the rest of my collection does not have this seam on that side, they just have seam on opposite side Not both sides.

I have a
* Bee decks that has this seam
* Bicycle rider backs that has this seam
& * Bicycle rider back with   "Bicycle Poker 808" on the top, not just "Poker" that has this seam
(and the ink used for the spade in the front and the back design on the back of tuck seams less detailed)

Any Help will be great.
