"GOOD NEWS :: We'll be releasing the first of our own custom decks in 2014. Not much to say right now, other than we're pretty excited that Randy Butterfield (Midnight Cards and the designer of the ORNATEs and Luxury Crown Decks) has agreed to work with us. With work already having started we expect some more news and maybe a sneak peak soon!"
You know when Randy designs a deck, it's going to be good. Along with the collaboration with our (well, at least my) favourite UK playing cards retailer, I'm looking forward to this :)
-
Very exciting! Can't wait to see the first images.
-
Thanks for posting this Nurul! Much appreciated.
A few details to share, but nothing specific just yet.
It's a semi-custom deck which I know won't please everyone, but there's a few reasons for this.
The main two being Id like to appeal to a range of people and a good chunk of my customers love to use cards for home poker, family card games, etc. So there will be some standard elements in our first deck! Also, Randy has a heavy workload right now and was only able to commit to a semi-custom deck. Having spent some months back and forth with another designer based in the UK, I felt a semi custom deck with Randy was better than a full custom deck with him.
Elements of the deck are inspired by Victorian design without specifically a Victorian deck, so whilst it has a theme it is loose as such, and the intention is to produce a high quality luxury feel design which will be popular with our regular customers, for that reason alone Randy was the perfect fit. He's also a very generous guy with his time, advice and knowledge - with him on board I've no doubt we'll produce something pretty special. Outside of the Legends and theory11 decks, his Ornates are some of the most in demand decks we've had in the last 6 months.
I'll add a few early images here as and when the time comes! :)

I'm also looking forward to this! I'm subscribing!

"The first of our very own custom decks will be released in 2014. Created by Randy Butterfield (designer of the beautiful ORNATEs and Luxury Crown Deck) we're excited to be working with one of our favourite card designers.
With a recognition we have a varied selection of customers and a love for the intricate and elegant, we're working together with Randy to create a deck with a luxury feel which stands out from the crowd. Our aim is to create a beautiful deck with some traditional elements - 'semi-custom' for want of a better description, we believe this suits our business well as we have a large number of customers who are keen home card game players and amatuer poker fans together with cardists and magicians. So we'd like to create a deck that is the centepiece of your card game but still playable without the need to squint from a from a distance to see if you've hit that straight!
Our initial thought process is to release two colours, with the possibility of one of the colours being reprinted if/when we sell out. We're not certain if this will happen until we see the reaction from our customers, but it's definitely one of our priorities to create something that is both collectible (a limited edition) and also accessible in terms of cost. The latter ambition means we may have to look at forms of funding such as Kickstarter, but such details will be decided further down the line.
As a small, UK based business - we feel genuinely proud and privileged to be working with someone as talented and respected as Randy. If you don't wish to subscribe to our newsletter for news, just keep an eye on this page to stay up to date."

Excitedly waiting for further details!!

Color me intrigued, looking forward to what you all come up with.

Thanks guys. Really looking forward to sharing more soon.
By the way - the name has today been changed to LUXX - could a mod update for me please? Thanks!

Paul, you forgot to mention that you're printing with the same guys Lawrence Sullivan used for the legends decks :) way to bag that one, this is going to be a big hit
-
This is a good point! :) it's been a busy few days for the business for many reasons, that passed me by!
To clarify- it is actually Lawrence and his Legends Card Company that will be printing the deck, and yes I can't wait - all being well this will be a great combination of design and print! Thanks Nurul.

Definitively interested in see some pictures!!

Here's the card back design .. I'm liking it, very intricate, although I prefer the second colour. Nonetheless, very intricate :) well done Randy and Paul :)
-
I actually like both. really boils down to how the color scheme or desivn ties into the rest of the deck....courts, spot cards, etc...
But very nice, Im with Nurul....love the inticacy
-
both of these backs are very impressive. two of my favorite colors are forrest green & burnt orange; & in all honesty, i cannot tell which deck i like more. the first deck has the darker color scheme i usually lean more towards but the white accents on the second deck are hard to ignore. i guess you'll just have to print both designs :D
-
Looks great

Thanks for posting that Nurul and thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate your support as a customer and in general with this deck :)
For the most part the reaction has been extremely positive with a few people suggesting they much prefer (as you did) the brown/silver as it pops much more, which it does indeed. We're looking into ways to help the green/gold - possibly a different colour with gold.
Thanks for the support VJose32, superdarkdark and Sparkz - much appreciated.

That is indeed the plan actually, one limited and one we can reprint and carry in the store on a more regular basis. After all we're a card retailer! :)

Hey Everyone,
I'll probably just post on the LUXX thread this one time while the White ORNATES project is running.
I'm glad the majority like the design! We knew the Gold/Green color combo wasn't as contrasting as the Silver/Brown combo, but the goal of these Decks were to be a Poker Set. Whenever you're playing Poker with a set the 2 Decks need to have different enough of a color combo to not accidentally get the Decks mixed up during the craziness of a Poker game.
Taking that into account, I'm cool with making them both have a high contrast level. I went ahead and did a Silver/Brown combo and a new Silver/Blue color combo. Brown and Blue go together very nicely and are different enough to keep the Decks from getting mixed up during gameplay.
I also toned down the irregular border edges.
thanks, Randy

This is kind of off topic, but your poker comment got me thinking. I LOVE the idea of a custom pair of playing cards that is designed for a game of poker. I've actually dreamed up a few designs in my head. I regularly play poker in a casino, and casinos typically use bridge-sized playing cards for poker. Are bridge sized playing cards any cheaper/easier to design for? Or would it kind of go against the custom playing card community aesthetics to make such a deck? (it wouldn't fit in a lot of collection displays/traditional card storage boxes) In any case, I would snap buy any decent bridge sized deck designed for play from one of the members of this community.
-
I really like the blue/silver, Randy. And the blue and brown decks do complement each other nicely.
-
Really cool designs, wish there were more colors to choose from.

Ornates v1, multiple colors, White Ornates, Multiple colors..............my wallet is cringing :(

Just a little update. These will be released via kickstarter come May :)

It's not that far off...
I get what you're saying - I know that poker pros or nearly anyone playing a lot of Texas Hold 'Em these days goes with a bridge-sized plastic deck set. The thing of it is, when you say "poker" and "custom", they can clash a little at that end of the poker scale. Sure, a bunch of guys playing beer-and-pretzels poker will grab any deck that looks cool and has all the cards in it, but the pros are much more limited in what they're seeking - they don't WANT custom, preferring traditional designs by far. Collectors, on the other hand, largely don't buy bridge decks - there's some, like me, who do, but for the typical adult playing with cards or performing with them, they're so adapted to poker cards that bridge cards feel too small in their hands. Even I find them a little strange to handle.
It would actually be a good thing to see, a custom bridge-sized deck. The closest we've come was "J Design" (spelled Desjgn), a pro-grade plastic deck company, that came to Kickstarter, twice, and failed each time trying to fund a new plastic deck set. The cards were fine, attractive, but totally standard - even the back design was fairly simple and plain in its design, nothing that would stand out to custom deck collectors. In other words, the cards were perfect for poker players, not so great for most everyone else on KS, and they didn't go anywhere.

I know that some dealers have small hands. That's usually the reason for casino(s) using bridge cards. Gemaco, Kem, Dal Negro, Modiano, Copag & Fournier all have a selection of standard poker sized cards. If you prefer bridge cards because you have small hands, I understand. Don't get bridge cards just because casino's use them.

I've heard it was more than simply the "small hands" issue - bridge cards are more easily concealed under anyone's hands than poker cards are, making it easier to make a corner peek without letting a neighboring player spot your hole cards. I do know that some "young magician" decks are bridge sized because of kids having smaller hands and finding them easier to manipulate as a result, and some Asian magicians have their own "name brand" deck made in bridge size. In some older magic books, I've seen bridge sized cards recommended for use by woman due to their smaller hand sizes.
Regardless, it's an individual thing - some people "use what the pros use", others find the smaller size annoying and prefer "the real deal, poker sized". I personally have seen among the people I know and play with (or perform for) that poker sized cards are the more popular in general of the two.
Wanna see a size that's completely ridiculous? :))

Gotta have novelty item, that's what they were thinking, lol. I would be curious to know how well those sell.
-
I imagine they would sell pretty good if stocked in a grocery store, sandwiched between the lighter fluid and starter logs.

If I was forced to wager, I'd say not well. It's the kind of deck that, if I brought it to my father's poker game while he was still alive, they would have ended up as kindling in the fireplace seconds after hitting the table...
I imagine they would sell pretty good if stocked in a grocery store, sandwiched between the lighter fluid and starter logs.
...as long as they, too, came wrapped in half-sized pairs of ridiculously uncomfortable dimensions... :))
But we're getting away from the topic - LUXX Playing Cards. Let's rein it back in. We can continue this in a new topic, if you wish.
-
Thanks to Paul, we are able to do a partial reveal of the tuck case. The first look is a rendering of images provided to kardify.

They now seem more interesting than before. But I'll wait for some pictures of the faces of the cards. Nevertheless, keep up the good work.

That's good to hear! :) thanks! As previously mentioned it won't be full custom, You can expect traditional faces with recolours and tweaks and 4 custom aces.

That's looking very very nice Paul. R you doing pre-orders? I forgot if you've said, sorry

Hi Nurul, thanks! :) He's a pretty special designer, hey? :)
Pre-orders haven't been 100% decided yet, but i'm pretty certain that we now won't be using Kickstarter - just have to wait to iron a few things out before that is concrete also.
-
Just saw the tuck. That sound was my jaw hitting the floor! Gorgeous design, wow!

Thank you! The other tuck looks pretty good too ;)
-
I'm looking forward to the LUXX more than any other deck right now.
Design is absolutely stunning, and the tuckbox (based on the partial reveal) looks incredible!
Great work Randy and Paul -- you guys are truly onto a winner here! :D
-
I really like this back design, one of my favorites of Randy's
-
Wow!! Thanks Jackson, Holly, Dustin and Nurul!
Now that the final Ornates are off to USPCC and entirely in their hands, it feels good to say I get to fully concentrate on finishing up the LUXX designs. I should be getting a lot finished up this week! I'll let Paul decide on what and when to do any reveals of the rest of the Deck.
Thanks, Randy
-
As previously mentioned we're keeping traditional elements in the courts and adding a LUXX twist! :) Here's a look at some Spades.

Not sure about the brown, looks a bit muddy, the blue/silver looks amazing, love it.
-
I can see why the blue/silver is your favourite, personally I love the brown/silver - but the effect of them being a nice contrast being the two decks should work a treat :)
-
Hey Everyone,
I posted something similar on the UC and thought I should do the same here.
Just so you can judge the Courts and Number Cards as a whole, here's the Tens and Kings for the LUXX Deck. Remember, the point of these Decks are to be a Poker Set. That, in definition, calls for very minimal customization to the Face Cards. I've seen Poker players kick out a Deck because the PIPS weren't Red and Black!
The real addition to the Faces are the inner circle borders on the larger PIPS, the extra borders around the Court characters and a few touches of circles and swishes to the character outfits. These are all meant to tie in the Back and Tuck designs and still be standard enough to pass muster for the Poker players.
thanks, Randy

Only the most dyed-in-the-wool pro poker player wouldn't use these. You did a great job. I'm certainly interested.
The d.i.t.w. pro players only use bog-standard bridge decks, 100% plastic, so they were never your target audience anyway!
I feel you struck a very good balance between unique/flash and standard/familiar. This would also make it a great magic deck.
-
These are looking great! They will be a nice addition into the rotation for my poker nights (as rare as they are these days!)
-
I like how the King's eyes match the accent colors.
-
Great to read some of those comments, thanks guys! Yeah the accent colours in the eyes are a nice touch by Randy!
-
Love the boarder details on the courts Paul, very nice touch Randy!
-
Hey Everyone,
Here's a Render showing the Tuck Boxes for the LUXX Deck. I'm glad to finally show these, as the Tuck Box was the first element designed for the LUXX. While I was working on it I kept picturing the entry to the Flamingo Casino, which is one of my favorites in Vegas!
thanks, Randy
-
The tucks look great, Randy! :o
-
Gotta say, that's a beautiful lookin' pair ya got there... :))
-
When?!?! :) ;) :D ;D ???
Looking great.
-
There's still a few details to iron out and we don't want to rush anything, so pre-orders may be a bit later than planned. I'll update the thread as and when! :) Probably a month or 6 weeks but not sure for certain yet.
-
Quick update - they're due to be printed by the end of this month. Once they're definitely printed and on the way to us, we'll make a decision about pre-order release dates! :D
Here's a couple of shots of the accompanying dealer coin.
-
Wow, these are amazing looking cards. Likely to be in the beginning of my collecting journey.
Ron
-
Looking very good Randy and Paul, kudos 8)
-
Can't wait! =)
Just to clarify - these were never on KS, were they? I thought I saw KS mentioned earlier in the thread...
-

Nope, it may have been mentioned early days but a few pages back it was mentioned they'd definitely be a site pre-order.
-
Finally, a date for pre-orders. This will only change if there are massive delays in getting the decks over to us - I don't particularly want people waiting too long for decks they've already paid for.
-
Killing me! Now I know that I have to (impatiently) wait a whole month to order these beauties! :-)
-
:) I've been pretty impatient too, can't wait to see these in the 'flesh' and see Randy's work up close.
By the way - The first 100 to pick up a twin set will get paired matching seal numbers :) A brick or more gets a discount plus a free dealer coin. All the product pages are up now - http://jpplayingcards.co.uk/luxx-playing-cards
-
If you buy a brick, does that include a pair with matching numbers?
-

Between now and the pre-order date, please consider adding a conversion feature to your site for US dollars, much like the one found on Big Blind Media's online shop. You may not get many American orders now, but you will be getting a lot more when this goes on pre-sale.
Another possible idea for your success - if you used a fulfillment center in the US for decks to be sold there, you'd probably save yourself some money and hassle as well as your North American customers. Kings Wild is doing good work in that area, I'm told, and they handle fulfillment for Expert PCC and Legends PCC.
-
Hi Don, offering a USD option is already on the list to see if we can make it work, next week. It's not as simple as adding a button unfortunately, we've got to look to see if our accountancy package can accept a third currency and still work OK, and we need to make sure it's financially viable with our processors (Amazon won't be a problem though).
Regarding US fulfilment - it has been considered at length (a couple of months) ago, but for a multitude of reasons we won't be doing it this time. The main one for the moment is that our prices to the 'big 4' outside of Europe - US, Canada, NZ & Australia - are already pretty good and we're working with Royal Mail to get them down a little further in time for the pre-release. We'll see.
Thanks for your feedback.

How about something in Asia? Maybe you don't have enough customers/demand out here, but if you do, it'd be nice to have better pricing on shipping/faster deliveries! =P
-
We won't be using a fulfilment company anywhere in the world I'm afraid. Sorry! We are talking with our Royal Mail account manager a fair amount at the moment to see if we can find ways of reducing the cost of all our overseas post.
-
I'm in love ... ;D
-
Randy's work looks exceptional as usual. Good luck with the project Paul. I think you have a winner here.
-
These cards look great!
-
Thanks Rob, yes Randys work is amazing as ever. The feedback from our regular UK and EU customers alone has been very positive add into the mix the great reaction from both forums and I'd like to think so too. Time will tell I guess, but overall we are a smaller company in a smaller country with a smaller reach, so we are not pinning hopes on an instant sell out- rather we have planned for realistic sales.
Nurul - thanks for your massive support from start to finish, appreciate it.
-
It's been a pleasure Paul. Love supporting this project, it's an amazing deck.
I read Bill Kalush say that the tuck for the new legends deck can be used as a shiner. Am I right in saying that this can too? :)
-

Any tuck box with an adequately reflective interior on the top flap could be used as a shiner, especially if the flap is mostly smooth rather than embossed or debossed.
If this was something you were looking to prevent, there's a few ways to do it.
- Use a darker foil lining, one that reflects less light.
- Em-/Deboss the hell out of the top flap so it reflects more like a disco ball than a mirror.
- Have all the interior except the flaps lined in foil.
- ...and of course, the obvious choice - don't line the box with foil in the first place! :))
-
The downside to no foil is you would have to drop the extra "x" in Luxx.
-

Perhaps I'm completely missing your point, but I don't understand that comment. Can you elaborate please?

I think it was just a joke, referencing all of the LUX brands and companies in the Card world now.
If Foil Interiors make it a Shiner Deck, I guess I've done a ton of them! I had never heard of it before.
thanks, Randy

I saw the latest photo of the LUXX deck on the LPCC facebook page yesterday.
Until now I'd thought of the blue version to be the good looking one, because the brown version did look a little dull... but now that I've seen how it's turned out (looks more orange than brown on my phone), I'm gobsmacked by how awesome it looks! I love the vivid colours.
In nearly all sets one deck looks more beautiful than the other... but I really think both decks of these decks look equally brilliant. Well done, because that itself is quite an achievement!

That humour was clearly lost on me - sorry! But yes, I see your point ;)
Thanks for the kind words folks- looking like it's 90% fixed for the August 29th pre order date, just have to nail down one or two details.

That's looking gorgeous. Well done guys! :)

Everything is so shiny, I love it :) as well as the LUXX, the ornates r looking beautiful too :)
Paul, did you ever get round to figuring out whether getting a brick will get us matching (maybe sequential?) serial numbers too? I'm aiming for the brick, solely because that dealer coin looks lush (or should I be saying, LUXX?) :)

We want to do matching numbers of a pair as part of a brick purchase, definitely - just need to find the best way to achieve this on the list listings as (currently) the twin set is listed separately. It will be matching numbers only I'm afraid, that's enough work on it's own (finding and pairing). Sorry!

Thanks Nurul, we've been getting a lot of positive feedabck..........Good Luck to everyone participating :D

What is the contest? Some sort of lottery if you preorder?
-
Sorry to be anal, but it's not 4pm GMT. We are actually currently in BST (British summer time) which is a one hour difference to GMT. It was an intentional decision to state UK time so anyone that Googled it wouldn't be confused. Could a mod please edit it to reflect that? Thanks!
The contest isn't a lottery, it's a pretty clever idea by Anthony & Ivan - http://www.kardify.com/2014/08/contest-got-luxx-win-red-jerrys-nugget.html

Ha, with the weather the way it's been, doesn't seem like summer :( lol I've updated it, apologies for the mistake
-
Indeed, summer ended about 2 weeks ago!
No need to apologise at all Nurul, actually didn't know you'd updates it to be honest. Thanks for changing it though.
-
As a general rule, it's best to list deck releases and other time-specific events using UTC/GMT and let everyone else convert them as needed. There are places that change on and off "summer/Daylight Saving" time at different dates and other places that don't change at all, so it reduces confusion to use a standard like UTC.
So, if I'm not mistaken,
4pm British Summer Time is
15:00 UTC/GMT as well as
11am Eastern Daylight Time and
8am Pacific Daylight Time...
-
Fair enough Don, thanks for the input.

http://jpplayingcards.co.uk/luxx-playing-cards
The link is live and has been for a while, there is a page for the matching split bricks (25 available) a page for the matching twin sets (100) and then a regular page for when they (hopefully) sell out. There's also the dealer coin and a leather Porper clip produced by REHandCrafted with the LUXX logo too.
They will be available from 4pm UK time, and the first people to be notified will be the people who added their emails to the product page - followed by newsletter and Twitter/Facebook. There are emails added to the product page that have been there for nearly 2 months so they deserve to be notified first. Of course, if you're loitering you will know the minute they have gone live.
I don't envisage any problems with the site because of peaks in traffic and we have tested a few things over the last couple of weeks to prevent errors, so all being well everything should be fine.
Can't wait to finally start getting them out to people mid-September!
-
*Excited* :D

Just minutes to go... Me too!

Thanks guys, we are now live! http://jpplayingcards.co.uk/luxx-playing-cards

I stopped working just so I could order. These are being sent out 15th? Or you'll receive 15th? If you're sending it out on the 15th, this will be an awesome birthday present for the 19th :p
-
Hoping to sending the 15th, so a happy birthday indeed! :)
Thanks for your support Nurul, hope you'd didn't get into trouble.
-
Sweet :)
Ha, no, my manager is aware of my playing card addiction :p she was cool with it all :)
-
Looks like the twin sets are gone, and bricks are half gone. Congrats!
ps: it's a pain in the ass to register for your sight on a smart phone. It may just be the dummy working the phone.
-
Thanks Rob, appreciate the support.
If you could drop me a PM with some details and feedback for how we can improve it that would be useful. It's a a site which is coded to be responsive to tablets and mobile devices meaning it should be OK for any device, but obviously it sounds like it's not perfect so anything you can provide in the way of constructive criticism would be great.
-
Definitely one of the most beautiful (quite possibly THE most beautiful!) custom decks of the year.
Hopefully they'll arrive on time and reach us all around the 3rd week of September. I'm definitely looking forward to putting these decks to some good use.
Seeing as the money for the Mana campaign will be taken in 10 days, the purchase of the LUXX bricks means that my budget for cards in September has already been wiped out. Lol.
Anyway, congrats to Paul and Randy on the twin sets being sold out so fast -- the success so far is definitely well deserved :D
-
I really like these I pre orederd a few decks! cant wait to get them!

I guess I should have used a smiling emoticon. Your site is fine. It's just a 44 year old guy typing on a screen the size of a playing card. ;)
-
Fair enough, thanks Rob :)
To clarify - The Matching Seal twin sets are all gone (limited to 100) and the Matching Seal Split Bricks are nearly out too, but the decks are still available for the same price on the standard page link - http://jpplayingcards.co.uk/first-edition-luxx-playing-cards (discounts are applied for 2 or more, or 12 or more - making it the same price as the brick of twin purchase, so the only difference is the seals are not twinned).
At this point half the stock is gone approximately, the pre-order window is going to close at the end of Wednesday (11pm UK time) and then what's left will be available mid-September when they are released (after pre-orders have gone out).
-
I ordered 3 sets, currently within EU so that was enough to get free shipping. I am looking forward to getting them.

Thanks for your order! :)
Just a quick reminder that the pre-order window closes at 11pm this evening (UK time) and then the remaining stock will be available when they arrive here mid-September.
-
Received my brick today. Much sooner than I thought I would get it. :) I'll post a photo when I get some time to snap one. Thanks for the speedy service.

Great, glad it arrived swiftly! Looking forward to hearing from others too.

Mine have arrived too! Actually they arrived yesterday when I was at work, so I had to go pick them up at the post office this morning and spent the entire day at work staring at the package, itching to open it when I got home!
The tuck boxes are amazing! They are so much more "solid" and sturdy feeling that the USPCC tucks I'm used to, even the higher end custom ones with matte card and embossing... So yeah, feel awesome in the hand, and the level of detail in terms of the design and embossing is amazing too, so they are great for the eyes too!
One relatively minor bonus, but I still think it's cool, is that the brick I ordered came in a nice, solid brick box - the kind that JP actually sells separately. It doesn't look anything fancy, but it protects your decks a whole lot better than the usual flimsy ones you get straight from the producers... So...thanks for the free perk!

Thanks aldazar,
I like to think (hope!) it's the little details that sets our service apart. We take a lot of pride in how we package orders (LUXX or not) and do everything we can to ensure that everything arrives in the best possible condition. I find that the little details and extra touches make all the difference! :)
The tucks are indeed pretty special, dropped a deck down two flights here in the business centre we work in and it barely got dented! :D

Dropping a deck of LUXX down two flights. . .Thats just insane! :o

i'm sencing a challenge, lol
"THE LUXX-TUCK DROP CHALLENGE!" :D
PS. Not for the faint of heart, lol
-
No, no, no LOL. Please no! :)
For anyone that's interested, we have 25 of each colour uncut sheets available now. £7.99 each.

I like all the elements of this deck, especially the back design. The stylized pips however, didn't appeal to me.
-
Picked up my LUXX's purchase from the post office.
Outside box-damaged- kind of reminded me of the old American Tourister commercials. Think -post office run by gorillas throwing packages around.
Brick box had a small dent.
Cards- perfect. :D
I don't know if the brick box was from LPCC or JP, but it saved the cards. Double wall cardboard.
If it had been a USPCC brick box. Well :( but it wasn't :bosswalk:

Music to my ears! :) The cardboard brick boxes, whilst not very glamorous, are great for protecting decks - especially in transit. They're produced by us - http://jpplayingcards.co.uk/two-piece-brick-box
-
Similar boxes are available in the US, but they're made for collectible sports and game cards. They come in various sizes, though I don't think any of them are exactly sized to hold a dozen playing card decks. The smaller ones are a single-piece unit with a flip-down lid with locking tabs, so it stays closed.
I use the two-piece 5,000-card "Monster Box" as part of my storage system - they hold 125 decks each and I have about 10 of them now, plus a pair of stackable drawer units from the office supply store.
It makes me wonder how cheaply such boxes can be had for in bulk. Could make for an excellent alternative to the packaging some KS creators are using now.
-
You could certainly produce much higher quantities than we (currently) do. Pretty soon we are going to stop selling singles and just sell packs of 5, 10 or 20. Right now, the sales are an after-thought for us the main reason we produce them is for packaging.

I just think it's amazing that I can have a package delivered from the UK to US without damage, but get domestic packages all f'd up. It just proves the difference between a company/owner that has a passion for cards, and not just the money. Thank you Paul for going the extra step and exspence to insure undamaged deliveries. I've received several packages from KWP. Some of the exterior boxes were almost destroyed by USPS, but because Jackson ships everything in double wall card board boxes. Not one time was there damage.
I recently received cards in a custom brick box from an unnamed card company. The brick box had damage. I wasn't sure if it was the USPS or the person who packaged it. I contacted them, and was quickly shipped a new custom box. It was so tightly wrapped with bubble wrap that the box was bent and creased. I'm not sure if it was sent through a fulfillment company, or the card company directly. Either way were is the quality control. I spend a crap ton on cards. It just pisses me off. >:(
OK, sorry rant over, soap box stowed away. and.......... chill 8)

Thanks for the kind words Rob, means a lot - it really does. We're not perfect and damage doe still happen now and then, but the vast majority of dents and dings are prevented. That's why we plan on expanding the UK/EU fulfilment we've done (Origins decks and a couple in the pipeline, but things take time) so the feedback is very much appreciated.
-
I agree. My cards from JP were perfect, largely due to great packing (Thanks!). As another hobby, I collect gemstones and minerals from all over the world. I receive probably 10 packages a month on average from overseas, mostly the Middle East, China, and Thailand. I've never had a package from overseas lost or damaged, but it's all too common within the continental US. I've had free (to me) shipping packages from Thailand arrive before an item from California (opposite coast from me) ordered on the same day!
Kudos to Randy for incredible cards, and to JP for great packing and shipping. If you haven't picked these cards up, do so now!

I've been shuffling away with the LUXX deck ever since receiving it.
Exceptional design, and top quality materials from LPCC. Anyone who doesn't have a few of these yet, is missing out.
The tuck has to be one of the best ever made. Off the top of my head, I cannot think of anything that tops this one.
Thick card, shiny foil inside, and intricate foil design on the outside. By far my favourite tuck from any deck in my collection.
