As you may know I lost a lot of the design due to unforeseen circumstances, however I realized I got emailed some earlier designs... Thought I would share them with you (the suits have different colors, hearts light pink, diamonds burgundy, spades grey, clubs blacky grey)

The back design is classy, but why an urn?

EDIT: "AJAX" shows up 4 times on the back...

So why is it a vase? (I mean does it have relationship with Ajax?)
and why isn't Achilles instead of Ajax? :P :P

That's a good start!! I think the back needs a little work. Maybe just have the word Ajax on the vase or above it but not both. It's looking pretty good though and I think I will really like it once it's done.

Okay I second what they both say about the repetitiveness of the word Ajax. I think leaving it on the Vase is much better than having it in the border-ish. Oh and I love the PINK face of that queen! I really do! Oh but on the back design maybe if you could make the pips on the borders a wee bit smaller or something because right now it reminds me of christmas ornaments ^_^
but overall I <3 the concept of your deck! I really do! I know these are still in the first stages of development but I'm pretty sure its going to rock!
oh and I love your guts for going on a totally different color scheme for something that is greek themed. Can't wait to see the other art of this!

The back design definitely needs work and I'd really like to see custom court cards.
I don't know about everyone else, but I don't like having words on back designs of decks. Keep working on it though  :)

A few thoughts on your design:

- The color palette is refreshing and different, good work there
- I would definitely try a version with no words on the back
- To me, the 2 halves look "off balance" primarily due to the spacing of the various pips on the edges. I might suggest trying to get them going all the way around, or perhaps reducing their size slightly. Also, the club is very dark so it's creating a visual "hole" that is throwing things off
- You might need a bit more detail/texture/shading in various places to give it a bit more visual interest. The shadows are a bit harsh and overwhelming when the main red field is just plain

Good potential here, just need to do those inevitable dozens of refinement steps.

I'm agreed with everything here, with the addition that if you want your vase to look like a vase, make it more narrow.  This looks more like an urn due to its width.

I would say don't change how the vase looks unless it's shading and color. That is what the ancient Greek vases look like in general and I think that you should stick with how it looks. It has a pretty accurate look to it and I really like it. Besides that I agree with what Xmetal said, he had some great feedback
