Brimstone Limited Edition- CL

Quote
Gambler's Warehouse has returned with it's latest and greatest deck - "Brimstone", the follow-up to the original Brimstone "fire" deck created by CCC Co two years ago.  These newly remodeled Brimstone decks are a compliment to the original and have silver foil inside the tucks.  A re-issue of the original (red) version with gold foil inside - both in 2500-deck editions.

Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Um...why?  The deck is OK, by today's standards, but not something to write home about.  I just wish the original was printed with the originally-intended back design - a Rider Back with winged demons instead of cherubs, in red and gold.  USPC nixed that - his was the first deck, if memory serves, that was ordered by USPC Legal to use a different back, something that wasn't an altered Rider Back.

It's a shame they opted to reprint the original release - a release that was a limited edition, supposedly never to be printed again...  Granted, there's the foil tuck box, but the cards are pretty much the same.

Love the colors, but the concept seems like a little too much of the same thing. I do like shiny foil on the box, the Jokers are cool, and (I am saying it twice because I like the turquoise) love the color .

I think the Quicksilver was sort of a turquoise-y color as well.  I can't recall.

The Quicksilver deck had a deep blue color.
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

The shiny gold foil is nice, but that means you have to open the deck.  Collectors don't like doing that.  Maybe they should put the year 2014 on the box to let ppl know it was a reprint of a deck that was never to be reprinted again.  That took a breath....

What does gold foil have to do with opening the deck?  As far as I know, there's no connection between them.

The year will ALREADY BE ON THE BOX - copyright information goes on the bottom of nearly every deck USPC makes these days.  Didn't you get the memo?

You could drive a person crazy with the trivial, already-solved problems you try to re-solve, sometimes in the most bizarre and complicated ways.  All that energy wasted - you could have single-handedly created world peace with it instead!  :))

Says the guy whose responses usually rival the average Wikipedia article, even when just asked for the time. :))

In all honesty though, since there are no pictures of the bottom of the box, and since there isn't any must having the year printed on the box, we cannot know for sure whether or not that'll be. Odds are it'll be on there, but it's still a valid opinion to post.

It is a RARE USPC-made deck today that doesn't bear copyright information on the bottom of the tuck box, or at least the manufacturer data, either of which will have the year in which the deck was printed.  The practice appears to have begun with the move to Erlanger, and it was tweaked at one point so that in places on an ordinary pack in the Bicycle design where the USPC name would appear, instead the deck's producer is named (e.g., the unmarked, Performance Coating version of Bicycle Series 1800).

@Don - Good thing there will be 2014 on the bottom of the box.  If it wasn't for you Don, I guess any question or opinion would be seriously looked at.  Have a good day...

I wish they would have just opted to do the quicksilver. I still really would love to get them sometime.
Do you guys even read this? Like I could have the meaning of life here and I doubt you would know it.

It's not impossible that they will do a Quicksilver deck or two.  And remember, this was supposed to be a series of three decks - who knows if Russ Kercheval handed over some art for that third deck when he sold off Circle City Card Company's assets.
