Yah, your right about the misunderstanding. With all the bright reds and deep golds, my eye didn't catch the inverted ad cards. Clever Trick.

Well I'm glad we cleared that one up!!  :)

Although I still wouldn't be all that surprised if we saw this "inverted" Chinatown deck in the future haha

Oh,noooooooo
I'm broke!
I hate that I have to get all of their decks.

Haha do you collect all D&D decks? Or is just how you collect? I'm curious because you said "need" haha

I'm trying to collect all E, T11, D&D, the BC, David blaine decks.
I got all E, T11 and the Blue crown decks now. (T11 no deck one v1, and guardian v1 though, I think it's the same as v2.)

About D&D there is a long way to go, I'm missing the v2, v3 and magic con.
But, I'm not buying them, I'll trade for them only.

About David blaine, I'm missing the split spade original blue back. I saw it on ebay, but I don't wanna buy it.
Waiting to trade too.

I'll making a thread at the sale section in the next 2 weeks,
gotta wait for this final exam to end and fly back to my home.

Back to the topic,
I really glad that this is not a new deck. It will be really strange for D&D to release them in "what occasions?"
May be we might have to wait for the next 12 years to celebrate the dragon year again. LoL

Oh that's pretty cool!! I don't have much structure when it comes to my collecting. I see a deck I like and I buy it (if finances permit). I really don't have a type of deck or a brand that I collect. It hasn't caused any problems yet though so all is well :)

I'm really sticking to the magic's companies' decks.
I collect some other decks as well, but just only decks that I really like the design.

Yeah, I just buy any decks I like and can afford, or decks I'm really curious about like the Aristocrat reprints. No specific structure, I just go with my favorites first. ;)

Hmm appears to be nothing at the moment on the Chinatown page, should be interesting to see what happens next
Mystery is the basic appeal of magic. Once the secrets are known, the magician becomes a mere manipulator, an actor in a suspense drama which has little impact because the audience knows the ending in advance.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

Here's my take on all the speculation:

Dan and Dave may issue another Fulton's deck (almost certainly) but not another Chinatown deck.  Fulton's is the series, not Chinatown.  If they were doing two colors/patterns, they'd release them at the same time like they did with the Vintage Plaid decks.

They're without doubt the backs of the ad cards.  I recall seeing the ad card's face on the back of the uncut instead of on the front - a bizarre choice, but it was done to insure they faced up when a freshly-unboxed deck was held face down.  They could also make for fun gaff cards if you got a little creative with them.

There will be no second version, re-release, any of that nonsense - and certainly not an unlimited edition.  When have the Buck Twins EVER released an unlimited edition?  Who do you think they are, Ellusionist?

Hmm appears to be nothing at the moment on the Chinatown page, should be interesting to see what happens next

As well there shouldn't be.  They said they'd announce when there was something worth seeing there.  I suspected it would be some kind of sneak peek (or perhaps early sale?) of the THIRD deck in the Fulton's series.
