Ow.  I think the prescription for my glasses just changed because I looked at this design...

It is actually irritating my eyes just looking at it.  If I was this deck's creator, I'd be concerned about product liability lawsuits!

I've seen bad designs - REALLY, REALLY bad designs - but none so bad as to actually cause physical pain until I saw this.

You must've purged this from your memory.  ;D

Ugh. These cards just look tacky.

Optical designs can be extremely cool, but there needs to be some effort put into a deck to make it happen. Uusi's Royal Optik used the designs to compliment the form of the court cards, and the result was an absolutely gorgeous deck. Even the Ogma deck had an interesting back.

This just looks like someone went nuts with a spirograph and laid the design over a boring deck in Photoshop.

So this isn't the most glamorous link in the world but it will be the most efficient way to see people's thoughts on the upcoming set. I'm hoping by collecting this data it will better help me cater the final launch to what people are anticipating.

It takes about 2 minutes to complete.

Thanks for your support. Looking forward to your feedback!

Thanks for the link! From the looks of it, you're going to Kickstarter?

Can't wait for the release! The seasons are some of my all-time favorite decks!

You no longer need to reveal your name and email address.

Oh. Thanks.

I'll keep them up, though. I like for people to have some idea of who I am, and how to contact me.

Hello, everyone! Most of my cards are stored in empty brick boxes. I usually buy them off ebay, but I figured that some of the retailers/designers on this website might have some that they need to get rid of.

I'm just looking for the plain white boxes that the USPCC sends their bulk orders in. Preferably without any labels. You can set the pricing and quantity, but I'd prefer to not pay more than 50 cents a box, or buy more than 20. I'll pay for shipping.

My real name is Isaac Jedlicka, and my email is jedlickaisaac@gmail.com. Email me or PM me if you're interested.

Thanks!

Hello, and welcome to the Discourse!
While the story's pretty obscure, the deck is so zany and interesting that it works. Love the ace and courts, too!

The only suggestion I would have would be to mix the jokers up a bit they seem sort of out of place. Drawing a simplified lizard might suit the deck well. From the looks of the uncut sheet, it looks like the jokers are identical too. Have you considered adding a reveal to one?

Good luck on the project!

Those backs are crazy similar to the Tally Ho Fan Backs. Does anyone know if they're altered enough to avoid copyright issues?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm new to kickstarter. If I am wanting to pledge for the silver backs only, do I just wait and see if it hits the $25,000 goal?   Will they add pledge options for them then?

Stretch goals are only implemented if the project hits the goal.

When the project reaches $25,000, they'll probably make them an add on.

The page only has one picture. This was the only other source I could find for the deck.

The new full custom Bicycle deck designed by DOSEprod is coming soon ! KARNIVAL X-TREME by BIGBLINDMEDIA ! Get ready for some unique never-seen-before concepts which will blow your head off!

The blog post makes the deck seem more interesting than the picture makes it out to be. I'll probably wait for a review or more pictures before picking one up. It looks sort of tacky from what I can see.

My god, those courts look phenomenal. Love the restyle of the jokers, too!
Judging from the red back gaff, I'm guessing the only color will be blue?

I can't wait for the release! It looks awesome!

64
Number 26 was probably the most painful.

God, the handling....

65
so much for coming soon !!!

Agreed.  Someone's concept of "soon" is a little out of whack with reality...

We started talking about this deck in December of last year.  We had an image of a partial tuck in March, a proof sheet in April.  It's July and still no Gatorbacks.  I've heard about teaser campaigns, but this is ridiculous.  With so MANY other decks on the market now and in the immediate future, it becomes easier and easier to ignore something that's taking so long to hit retail.

Easy to forget about, until they actually drop. Then they will sell like hotcakes!(not Uusi's- actual hotcakes)  ???

With $46,000 in funding, I'd say that Hotcakes DID sell like Hotcakes.  ;D

Jokes aside, I'm getting a bit impatient too. Especially since we haven't seen jokers, the AoS, or the courts (which I'm assuming will be the  same as the White Lions courts).

Free PDFs all Summer!  :D

This is a great chance to grab some great material. They had some awesome books last Summer, including the Tarbell System.

https://shop.conjuringarts.org/store/pc/Free-Downloads-c149.htm

Right now you can get  "Outs: Precautions and Challenges for Ambitious Card Workers" for free. They switch out the downloads after a short period of time, so get it while you can!

Don what are you smoking ? Are you saying that you can spot a flipped card in a deck with a without a mircoscope and a ton of time on your hands ? You are better off working on the border differences caused by printing.

I see it too. There's actually a lot of discrepancy on the diagonal back.
The differences become very apparent when you riffle the cards. I made a gif to simulate that.

Listen to Don, bro. He knows what he's talking about!

This is on the site as well.

Know anything about these?

Oh and from instagram

How good is your Chinese?

The Bund is a Shanghai waterfront. From what I gather from their 关于我们 (concerning us) tab, they're a cultural center.

I could be wrong. My Chinese is mediocre at best.

Awesome! Love that back!

The only suggestion I would have is to add some small details to the courts. The deck seems a bit too stoic when none of the courts are in variable positions. I think adding arms to just a few of them would do wonders for the deck.

Oddly enough, while you have a good point, in this case, I think the lack of arms works.  When people think of classical and pre-classical musicians, they often see an image of them in their minds as an arms-free bust.

I decided to made the court without arms, to keep the essential of the classical portrait, because most of classical portrait have no arm.

Here is the bottom and top tuckcase preview

@ecNate
Yes, it's a banner, not chin rest. Because as you said the classical composer of the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic period don't use a chin rest.

That does make much more sense. Thanks for the clarification, and good luck with the contest!

Hahaha! Love that message on the 9 of hearts!

The courts are absolutely stunning! The sheer amount of personality in them is really something you don't see in other card decks.
I'm counting the days until the release! Keep up the amazing work!

I don't mind the courts either.

While they are extremely unconventional, they're well designed and fit into the deck's design and theme flawlessly. The overall deck's super interesting and creative too.
Definitely backing this one.

75
There is! Wrong AoS was uploaded at first.
Otherwise, I'm sorry to hear you do not like it!
Maybe next deck you will.

Possibly. Thanks for posting, though!

Definitely drop Don a message. The man's a wizard when it comes to helping out KS projects and deck design.
