Which deck do you guys mean? It doesn't remind me of Fatboy Aztec, nor does it remind me of Viva Mexico. The card back on this feels very Atari 2600 to me, without the classic colors. Feels like it's being torn in three directions and it doesn't really want to go in either of them. I don't know, I think it needs to be reworked with a slightly different perspective. Probably starting on a different medium would help out, if it was done initially on a computer, maybe some colored pencils would help add a fresh take on where he was trying to go with this.

Woh! I had never seen those Fatboy Aztecs. Those are nice! (Adds to cart)

I was jokingly referring to Viva. There's similarities, but that's like Wynn going off on all double logo decks.

Overall, not a fan of this deck. Wish him the best tho!

I really like this deck as well, although I think the red is a great choice here. The simplified courts with bold coloring plays well for my eye, I can't wait to get some in my hands. The Jokers are also a lot of fun. I think the dots on the card back add whimsy to things that while not being overly complicated at all really make this stand out. I'm hopeful this will see it's funding goal met.

You know, you are correct. The red IS perfect on this one. :)

Huge fan of these cards and Julian's other designs. If the finished changed from diamond to classic I would increase my pledge from 3 to 6 maybe 12 decks.

I like the simplicity of these, the courts look similar (if not identical) to the smoke and mirrors by DD, not a bad thing. Wish the Ace of Spade incorporated the dots of Japanese. The standard pips and suits are ok with me, my only complain with that is the tone of red used in standard decks. Im a fan of a darker red, like the ones the Monarchs use.

Hope it gets funded. I approve this deck and brand.

Good news, the cards were printed. I received my one deck.

Bad news, the cards are terrible in my opinion.

Glad I only got one deck. The spades and clubs are both  black obviously but the hearts came out way darker than the diamonds (almost brown). Looks sooooo bad. I want to blame it on USPCC but honestly, I think the designer didn't pay close attention to his colors before sending them to print.

Also there's too much going on with the face cards in my opinion. The court cards definitely clash with one another. I may have missed that during the campaign. This was my first Kickstarter deck and I just pledged to be supportive to the playing card community and designers (I did that a lot at first, now I'm more picky when it comes to backing Kickstarter projects. I might have made it a little personal too).

If you're thinking about buying this deck, DONT.

The only decent  thing about this deck is the back design, but even that isn't special.

This deck  will definitely end up in the trash in the near future.

I feel bad saying all this but I'm not talking bad about a person to be honest, just a product. Hopefully his future projects will turn out much much better, that's if his backers didn't lose faith in him.

Great news!! Yesterday we reached 52% of our goal. That's more than half in only 7 days !!

We only have 48% left and we will make this deck a reality.

If you can share this project with friends as well, please do so.

Lastly, If you have any suggestions to making this campaign successful, please feel free to contact me.

As always, thank you so much for your generous support :)

Interesting.

I will say this the box or deck doesn't say printed by uspcc at all, I ignored it at first but now it's got me thinking.

I don't want to start a war but.. If these are fake, I want to know who made them. The stock literally looks, feels and handles like air cushion from USPC. If they're cheap I might use them for my personal decks (I'm kidding, Legends classic stock is the best in my opinion)

If they are real, the owner of the magic shop didn't know their worth. He did say it was the only one of these he had.

This forum is not allowing me to upload photos. Too large apparently even tho I took them with my phone.

I'm being very genuine when I say you really put some serious effort and research into this, in addition to taking some pointers from the folks on the forum.  You've developed this into a more solid design which hopefully will succeed where your previous effort didn't.  You certainly deserve to succeed on this one.

Just remember to promote the hell out of it, and not just in the card forums.  If you look at the top ten decks of all time on KS, not a single one made it to such lofty heights without expanding its reach beyond that of the playing card community alone.

Thank you for the kind words! I am trying to get this deck out there, Mexican communities and such. I am having a hard time, but I'm not giving up. It would be a shame if this one didn't make it.

The special edition was the v2 version. how do they handle? I mean if they are open you could easily verify if they are real or not

They are authentic. They handle great. Typical USPC stock.

This deck is a lot of fun and I really like the colorful backs. Easy choice for me, I'm in. :D

Thank you Fes. It was pointed out to me that the box was a little boring compared to the deck. I will be making some changes asap. Hope you love the new box once you see it !

Thank you for your feedback! Is there a place where best practices about things like full bleed backs are collected? I'm eager to read them if so.

Also, in another thread I saw some folks bemoaning USPCC and Ad Magic's quality. I'm not super surprised at Ad Magic, though I personally find their stuff more than satisfactory, I'm a gamer, not a magician or anything. But I am surprised at USPCC, I expected them to be the gold standard. What other manufacturers do have better reputations?

Legends playing card co.

Expert playing card co.

Are tho two I know. Uspcc is still "the big dog" , but the other two are showing them up. They get their borders 100% perfect, something you can only dream of with  uspcc. I just purchased a few decks from them to see what they're all about, and they're stock is nice !

Is it just me or does this deck seem reminiscent of the monarchs?

The back design ? Haha! I thought the same thing at first.

These cards are great tho, one of my favorites.

Here are the modified suits and pips. Thank you all for always being honest and bringing things to my attention.

I've been lurking this thread since it's started and haven't posted because Don and others have done a great job steering this into the right direction. The changes that have been made to it thus far are all good.

I must say though that personally, I'm not a fan of the pips being mixed between standard and custom. I'm not sure of any other deck that has done this and maybe it's just me, but it's a bit jarring.

Just my .02c

Keep it coming!

Thank you for showing interest!

I did agree with a lot of the suggestions Don made and acted on them.

I personally like the standard pips, Malam playing cards did it as well.

Avocado/Spades look good, though they are quite similar to 'hearts' in shape (especially when reversed)... How would you feel about adding part of a 'branch' between the two halves for a more 'spady' feel?

*wave*

Thank you for your kind words!. That is actually the first thing I did and I wasn't crazy about it.

The colors (green vs red) and the pips should help differentiate the two (hearts and spades).

Why are people like this?   :-\

So weird to me.

My guess is that it's printed by MPC.

They're nice but the guy can't give a solid answer and acts childish.

Congrats tho.
