Title: RUSSELL & MORGAN
Post by: TheBadJoker on July 30, 2014, 10:09:35 PM
Just thought all of you might enjoy seeing an early Russell & Morgan trade card I recently found.  It has a price list on the back and Probably dates 1886-1890.

A very cool piece of memorabilia not just of playing cards but of 19th-Century America!

Very interesting Trade Card BadJoker! Here is another Russell&Morgan original price list, won at $6 on eBay, a few months ago.

This is a page from a Marshall Fields catalogue in about 1892-3 I think. We have a couple similar from that date still intact in the catalogue.

I love your piece of ephemera which we actually do have and which we definitely paid more than 6 dollars for.  Ads such as this are one of our very  favourite areas of collecting and Marshall Fields did some of the very best coloured inserts in their hardbound catalogues.

Good for you, a great treasure!
