Holy crap that's one of the coolest boxes I've ever seen for a deck of cards! Don't know if it's even right to call it a "tuck case"! When do we get to see the deck itself?!

It's called a slip case, if I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing.

I hope the deck is as sexy as the tuck ;)
There is no tuck...
-
it kind of reminds me of the slip case on my old deck of Prestige playing cards (Plastic cards), and that's a good thing. It's sharp and very functional. I like them.
-
Hey guys, yes there will be a tuck inside the outer case you see here. Run is going to be the first deck that is sold with it's own protective card case.
-
Well first since the late 1800's when some decks were produced with a colorful wrapper and placed in a tuck box which was inserted in a slip-case!
-
Jason was nice enough to give me and Kardify some of his time today, fans should be happy with what's coming...........stay tuned ;)
Thanks again Jason

TEASE!!
j/k, but all this is really excited. I picked up a few decks of Banshees and am excited to grab some Run when it comes out. Any chance of a release date?
-
Shooting for an October release. We've selected some beautiful imported papers from USPC for the inner tucks that are hard to get, therefore causing a delay. Yet, we should still be on target for early to mid Oct.

I remember when you first joined the forum, you had little idea of the world of playing cards, and look at you now :) you've excelled Anthony, and your interviews are always a pleasure to read. You're a great asset and I'm glad you're apart of this community.
I can't wait for part two :)

LOL, Thanks for the kind words Nurul, and your right........1st thing I learned was what a pip was (Sept 2013), lol. But it's still fun and I appreciate all the help i've gotten along the way from members like yourself and a slew of others. My goal was to learn as much as I could and to find a way to contribute to the community in a positive manner, Kardify and Ivan gave me that opportunity. I was actually haveing this same conversation with Ivan a couple of days ago.....how did I get here, it's just crazy.

With nice artwork like that. Why would you want to cover it with a case?

I think with that badass case in hand, I'd be all :bosswalk: haha. Pop the cool case open and be all ;D at the tuck. So pleasure would be my answer haha. I love the idea. I've already set a side some funds for RUN. Can't wait, I'm really looking forward to this. :)
-
Wow! I'm pretty much speechless at how amazing this looks! Can't wait til October to get my hands on these!
A little sad that the red/bankroll edition won't be available for purchase as it's my favorite of the three! I sure hope I manage to get a couple of those somehow!
-
Heyo, everything is all 100% USPC DNA. That's why these have taken so long to come together. USPC hasn't raversed these waters before. French vellum speckle board paper + ink + foil + embossing + hard case + hand folded + hand loaded = challenge.
Thanks for all the good words!
Here's a quick phone cam pic of the rare "Run: Bankroll" version.
-
Oh my, ain't that a pretty little sight :)
Do you have an official release date? And prices for the decks? Are they both being released at the same time?
Questions, questions, questions :p
-
Ya, its a keeper, lol 8)
-
I love what I am seeing!
-
Thanks for the good words guys, more to come.
-
Yeah, Jason - the project's looking pretty kick-ass so far.
I don't suppose you could give us a peek at a few card faces? Or at the least tell us more about them?
If I had to guess, I'd say the deck faces will be fairly standard - it appears to be aimed at the gambler/card sharp market, in which case standard faces would be the more desired of the options. Don't get me wrong, custom is nice, but it's not one-size-fits-all.
-
As requested. A peek at some face card art.
-
Couple of guys asking specifics about the numbers in circulation:
Run (standard) - 20K decks - Limited - $9.95
Run: Heat Edition: 10K - Limited - $14.95
Run: Bankroll Edition - 5K - Limited - Not for sale - available through contests, give-aways and will be available to dealers who order in bulk.
The first series of Run with have the hard card case with the deck - The 2nd Edition of the Run series (in process) will not have the hard outter case. Hope this helps! We are getting inquiries and wholesale reservations on Run on a daily basis. I don't expect this first series to last long.
I have had many long and heated debates about the pricing as the outter boxes are crazy expensive to produce. However, this is a deck that I want people to use. I don't want them to be too expensive that folks just collect them and they just gain dust. So we placed them at $9.95 with the outter case for this first series.
-
I like the card box idea, I hope more decks will use it in the future.
-
A little extra peek.
-
Looking good Jason, can't wait :)
-
Been waiting for this for a year by now, finally we're getting close to a release! Good stuff.
-
A little extra peek.
No date yet? You don't want to drag a tease campaign out for too long.
-
Latest official word is around November 15th.
-
Teaser 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaOx__Om7o4
Pre sale starts Nov 4th at your fav card dealer.
-
Interesting. Thanks for this pleasant compromise between "court cards for magicians" and "court cards for collectors".
-
Here are two more pictures of the Bankroll Edition for those interested. My favorite, and naturally they ended up making this one limited to 5,000 and not up for sale. Story of my life. ;)

I know, right? It's my favorite too! Was so sad to hear that I most likely won't be able to get my hands on them! =(
-
Can someone please clarify where and when these will be for sale? After reading through the thread I can't tell where I can buy these?
-
Hi Msp, they will go on pre-sale later today as select retailers. I will have those lists of retailers soon. The ship date for Run is Nov 18th. Thanks for the interest!
-
It sucks that I'm not a retailer, much less not a specific retailer. Hope some of the specific retailers offer brick deals. I'd like 4 of them.

If I ever play poker with Jason, he's gotta do it with his sleeves rolled up. :P
I wants all three decks, and many of them. I think these will become some of my favorites.
-
Just got word that these will be up for pre-order at:
Art of Play = http://www.artofplay.com
JP Playing Cards = http://jpplayingcards.co.uk
Gamblers Warehouse = http://www.gamblerswarehouse.com
RunIt Decks = http://www.runitdecks.com
So far only GW have them up (and so far only one of the two decks), but the others should be right behind. Will be more sites soon, but these were the first ones.
-
I'm going to nitpick for the sake of nitpicking: american dealers aren't trained to turn over the flop like that :)
but they look like some really nice cards, definitely picking up a few.

haha, yes it is! I've watched it six times, pausing several times after the initial viewing whilst waiting for a north american vendor to put up Heat edition as well. So far only one who has them up that I've been to is JP across the pond, sans pics. Seen the backs though, good enough.

Hi all! Been hit with many questions, so we created a video that hopefully answers as much as possible:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zFOHKJQjzM
Here is an inside look at the Run Playing Cards. The history, the inspiration, the hidden symbology, easter eggs and more.
-
Jason, near the end of the video you talk about how future printings of these decks won't have the slip cases. So is it correct to say that there ARE going to be reprinted? Will that printing be identical except for the box, or will there be changes (color changes, different design, etc.)?
The cards are pretty attractive from what I can see so far.
-
It will most likely be a V2, without the slipcase, but still have the DNA of the RUN design aesthetic.
-
I think the best price is with https://www.collectableplayingcards.com.
6 decks 5% discount.
Use coupon sparks for another 10%.
5.95 priority mail for up to 10 decks.

What is the bankroll edition and why is it 100 dollars? I thought there was only the standard and heat editions?
-

It's the black/red not for sale deck. Looks very sharp and will be rarer than the others. I have no idea why CPC put it up for a honeybee though.
Jason posted a pic of it on the top of page 2 of this thread.

Yeah, I thought the picture looked familiar. Do we know why it was printed if its not for sale? Will they be prizes for contests or something? Also, how did Collectible Playing Cards get some to sell if they can't be purchased?

They were printed to be used for giveaways, contests, and as sales incentives for retailers. Very few will be handed out in total each year. CPC will probably receive one or two with their order and they decided to put it up for pre-order along with the other two editions.

Do any versions of this deck not include the dollar bill symbol?

All three decks have the same, exact design with different colors. They all have the $.

It's the 18th. :D
Many of us should have some of these beauties in our hands soon. :))

The new RUN DECK will be arriving with me shortly and they look a beautiful and practical deck. They have been designed by Jason Brumbalow (formerly Ellusionist) and he looks to have done a great job with his first deck designed exclusively created by Murphys.
Some of the official text is here:
It's a sin to let a sucker keep his money. So, leave honour in your rear view mirror, because only two things matter in this world... this score, and surviving it. Run Playing Cards embraces nerves of steel and a clean getaway into a superior deck of cards, with a rebellious attitude.
Created & designed by acclaimed playing cards producer, Jason Brumbalow, the value and quality of the Run Playing Cards is unparalleled in its class. With a true survivor's attitude, this deck reveals its authentic, underground gambling roots in every inch of detail.
Raw, unruly attitude meets new-school design. Defiantly decked in gold foil from front to back, a bold design that drives home the pure essence of the hit and run survivor. The first deck in its class to come equipped with a hardened, protective, custom card case that's styled to perfection to achieve a raw, custom look.
Born from the quality and proven reliability that you can expect from the US Playing card company, Run has a slipstream glide which provides an unmatched, responsive feel and is just plain durable as hell.
Let your chips fall where they may, but know where the exits are, because after the score, there's only one thing to do.....

AJT, I merged your topic with this one. We try to keep it to 1 thread per subject/deck. Helps keep the place tidy.

Hilarious! Can't wait to get my Run decks!
Same here, I'm eagerly awaiting mine. Maybe friday! I'll be at a poker tournament when they arrive, if it is friday, but it would be very cool to have them here when I get home from it. I'm more excited about the RUN decks than I am about black friday overall. haha, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I like the hype, but your bark is better than your bite.
Custom pips: check
Custom courts: check
Is that a sword coming down form the indices?
Everything seems fine, but yet something seems missing.
I do like the way the sword is coming out of the court box. And the tuck box is something else. Maybe better than a card clip....

My friend - I considered not getting any of the decks. I've scaled back my spending on cards overall. Then I opened my mailbox and found a package from Jason...a pack of standard and a pack of Heat.
Dude, I don't know what I was thinking, considering passing on these. The level of detail in the packaging - phenomenal. The faces - simple andgorgeous. The handling - well, we all know what a Magic Finish deck feels like. I really like the stock - it reminds me a bit of Tally Ho stock. Not as soft as Bicycle, not as stiff as Bee - good blend. Been putting them through their paces the past few days - I think I want to get a few more!
I get the feeling that if you pass on these, you'll be kicking yourself all the way to 2015!
-
Mine have arrived! =)
Tuck is amazing - foil is beautiful, as is the more subtle design in the background... I'm still not sold on the side opening tuck - the flap feels more "flimsy" just because the card isn't thicker but the surface area is wider, so the flap is less rigid... I prefer traditional vertical opening tucks still... Other than that though, tuck is amazing.
Deck is nice, but not as nice as the tuck, in my opinion...=P Maybe it's just me, but the white borders look a bit thick... Handling is great, and for some reason, even though I usually suck at fans, I could fan this deck right out of the box! Weird, but cool...=P
Lastly, the slip case. Really cool idea, and decent execution, but I have to admit I'm a little disappointed compared to the (admittedly unrealistic) image I had in my mind of what it'd be like... I'd say the execution is 7/10 and the materials maybe 8/10... The reason I say my expectations were unrealistic is because these had to be mass produced in the tens of thousands, so obviously there's a limit to the level of detail in terms of execution.
Overall I'm happy with the deck and I'm glad I bought it, but not blown away...
PS: I only opened the regular edition... I assume the Bankroll and Heat editions are identical but for color. It'd have been cool if the rarer two versions had additional "perks" as they step up in price and rarity, but again, probably not a realistic expectation...
