Hi,

I'm Gary Hocker and I have just recently gotten interested in playing card design. I was looking for a new avenue for art and stumbled upon some custom playing cards. I was instantly hooked. I've designed two decks and will launch one on kickstarter soon.
I've done some medical illustration and book cover design, although my career background is outside the arts (I'm now retired). I have a lot to learn and was intrigued by the openness and friendliness of this site. I look forward to being able to contribute what little knowledge I have.

Gary, welcome to the Discourse!  Keep an open mind and two open eyes and you should do just fine!

Don't worry about being new here.  Everyone started somewhere as a newbie.  You can't advance to be a master without first getting your white belt, right?  :))

Yeah, Alex takes the short bus to get here...  But we all love him so!  :))
