Hello Discourse. A lot of you know me as one of the moderator on the UC forums and the Kickstarter list guru. That was true as of 1 hour ago... because I let one deck creator post 1 message on a already existing thread in our forums, I was stripped of my mod rights. And because I posted that I was not interested on being part of a very tightly censored forums, I was banned. Oh well just looking for a pleasant environment in which to discuss playing cards, I do not have time for childish behavior or drama queens.
I admit I do not know much about this community or these forums but thought I would give it a go.

Welcome - I recognize your name from the few times I've skimmed the UC boards.
I'm not a big fan of drama around here, and we only have exactly one person (and a bunch of spambots) on our "banned" list. You might know of him, I hear he's a playing card retailer... :))

Nurul I am originally from Montreal Canada but been living in the States for 17 years now...As far as decks goes I have to say I pretty much buy everything except some of those goofy Kickstarter projects..I think I am getting close to 800 decks in my collection. I like decks first for their look and art so I like stuff that is fully custom; so decks like Fed 52, Sherlock or all of the ones Shane Tyree designed I like. I also love nice tuck boxes like the red Whispering Imp deck which is so gorgeous. I am not a cardist and do not manipulate my cards. I usually get 2 decks, one to keep unopened and one to display in 9 pocket sleeves (like sports cards which I used to collect). I love all decks by UUsi also, Chris Ovdiyenko has some very nice decks etc etc

9-pocket card sheets? That's seven sheets per deck if you include the extra cards! What do you do with the tuck boxes?
When you get a chance, we have a sticky topic in the Playing Card Plethora for showing off your collection and/or your newest acquisitions. I'm sure there's a lot of people there who'd be interested in seeing your setup.

Yeah the 9 pocket sleeves work well and I use 6 sheets per deck..Usually the deck plus the 2 jokers. If there is an interesting gaff card, I might insert it behind one of the joker and make that a double sided view card. I will post pics and more info sometime over the weekend. For now I put the tuck boxes away and they are not on display. I have some much crap in my office I can barely walk hehehe. Half my bookcases are full of fantasy art books and the other half is taken by brick boxes, special sets, remnant of my sport cards collection and comic book collection....Did I mention I am a fifty year old man that forgot to grow up

Welcome to the site Pete, truly great community you popped over too. A lot of fun with a lot of like minded collectors, cardists, magicians and anything in between that has to do with playing cards.

I have quite a collection of Admin Mod messages in my private mail. I keep them for souvenirs. Just my 2 cents Don and Alex; badpete69 was basically the ambassador for the UC. He got a lot of Kickstarter creators in the forum to talk about their cards. Even though most of time it was a crash course it was fun to get them in there. Fred i admit that was quite the haul on the Dale Mathis project and being the chosen on the Shane Tyree project is also quite cool...Waiting for the next jackpot hehehehe

Here's a message I had sent out to UC members that reached out to me
"Mike has been on a downward spiral for a while.
He has been banning new people left and right, and is becoming more and more negative toward everything by the minute.
Over the last month he has mentioned to Pierre (badpete69) and myself that he most likely will not be renewing the forum in Feb.
And he absolutely will not sell it, or let someone else take it over if he does not renew.
Recently, Mike out a new rule in place so that Pierre and I could no longer approve first posts by new members. He wanted to be able to see if the post was to his liking.
That's why so many new members that start out being there to promote their stuff get banned.
Anyway, the day that this all went down...
Pierre went ahead and approved a first post from a deck designer. The deck already had a thread started, and this guy found out about UC somehow.. and joined to make the post
Mike lost his mind. In the moderator section of the board... he accused Pierre of inviting this guy on to promote his product, and basically scolded Pierre for approving the first post.
Pierre told Mike he didn't invite the guy, and said that he didn't see the problem with approving the post... and said that he was done being treated like this... asked to be removed as Mod.
Mike did that immediately. Pierre posted that he was stepping down as mod because he didn't like the way he was being treated (is that right Pierre?)
Anyway, Mike turned around and banned him.
Pierre phoned me and let me know what happened, and I hopped on the computer.
I messaged Mike, and told him that I absolutely didn't agree with the banning of Pierre... and that I would have to step down as well.
I made the following post in the "Congrats to Walrus on being the new mod" thread...
"You forgot to mention that you banned Pierre" and then another post in the same thread... "I've also decided to step down as Moderator. I will still be part of the forum though. Thanks guys"
Then I got banned, and those posts were removed.
Mike was also VERY pissed that the day before this all went down that I started a new thread at Aether for the Bicycle Warrior Horse. "
I didn't do 95% of the leg work. Pierre (badpete69) was also a huge contributer to the site.
I don't really even know what to say about the situation

"The voice of reason" doesn't seem to be able to make any headway, and you're right - all traces of anything have disappeared. Interesting, I knew something was funky. My pleas fall on deaf ears, I suppose, and the rest of the users aren't happy one bit.
So, they plan on just shuttering the whole thing in 4 months? Oh, well - I suppose we'll all be over here, eh? Too bad we can't all move our post counts, too. LOL
Anyway, Pierre and I have been doing a few deals on eBay, so I did know something was rotten in Denmark (or "lort stinker på danmark, også" to be precise).

Well, Jay, to you and anyone else coming over from UC, I have one thing to say:
You're very welcome here and I want all of you to feel like you're at home. If there's something we can do to make things better for you or help in any way (other than copying your post counts!), please ask and we'll see what we can do for you. I really like to think of the membership here as a group of comrades and friends and I hope you'll see it the same way.

As far as I'm concerned, no. As far as Mike's concerned...that's another story. Best advice I could give on that would be to be careful not to tread on his toes if you want to remain in good standing there. It's a free country, though, so don't lose too much sleep over it! You're always welcome here.

Oh wow, okay. I didn't know about all of this. Like Sharpie, I signed up a while ago but didn't get around to posting. I started posting at UC just this month, I believe? Then I started noticing the lack of new threads regarding Kickstarter projects, and realized you haven't been on in a while. So I guess I kinda followed you over here.

You're fired. "You're dead to me" as Mr. Wonderful would say on Shark Tank. Just kidding of course. I hope we can all move beyond the mess Mike F created and I am trying my best to reconstitute the community over there. I also lurked for a long time over here without posting, just like I did over there for almost two months. I figured my arse would be out on my ear like Jay & Pierre, and it seems I decided to take a different approach as Mr Ferrante is now locked out of the admin roles and control panel at his own request.
I'm a fair person, and I can easily see things from all sides. I even pick up the coin after looking at the obverse and inspect the edges, but this was just a cluster &*^$%!
