I was wondering when someone would finally make a topic for this deck...

They've been saying "coming soon" for an exceptionally long time now, and I haven't heard "boo" from them via email despite being on the mailing list.  There's just been no word, period.  I'm starting to wonder if it's just another piece of vaporware...

If the tuck is done right. That could be bad ass. I just received a deck that used vellum paper on the tuck. It has a texture to it. Kind of feels old. With the right embossing and print pattern. I think it could look/feel like leather

Agreed, if done correctly this may be going as one of my submissions in that favorite tuck thread we have... If done wrong it'll be just like the urban punk decks. (okay that was a little harsh of me).

Hmm...

Very cool. But it's the inside that counts.

They have all the cards on display here: http://theblackbookofcards.com/the-cards (http://theblackbookofcards.com/the-cards)
This is going to be a deck you never want to open.

This is going to be a deck you never want to open.

I beg to differ! Love those cards! it would be a crime to keep them trapped in a box.

Ok, maybe not the most practical, but certainly creative. This is nothing Like I've seen in a deck of cards.

Now we just wait for the back, ace of spades, and the jokers...

Damn, I forgot what these looked like.  If I was still buying, I'd still take a pass on these.

The kickstarter preview can be viewed here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/819518343/737341149?token=faed3285

These are obviously only for the collector community. Don't make a fool of yourself for saying "oh dudee it wud b so shit 4 perfoumin mayneee". The typography is unique (unlike the Type deck imo) however the details are so intricate that i worry about its printed clarity. If it can be pulled off though, it will look amazing as text usually comes out crisp unlike some artwork that is affected by pixilation. Im a bit iffy about the back design just as its something out of the ordinary. It is definitely better than the sarcastic UNO-like NOC card backs though imo.

The pricing is consistent and the different levels of rarity should attract even more collectors. The wax seals are a nice touch and the page is designed extremely well and flows nicely. This is one of those projects that if i stumbled upon i would be interested in clicking on regardless of if i was involved in the playing card community or not. With enough hype, timing and luck, i honestly think this will be a huge hit.

I don't think this is a deck you could just carry and perform with all the time, but 2 things
1.  No one I know have seen a deck like this, I know they would love it.
2. It talks about your birthday having a playing card, instant magic routine. I have a trick where I talk about fate vs. chance. This I can use. I just need one more to make a set around the theme.

Im on the fence with this one, on the one hand the tuck case is super sweet. But the cards are just not there yet for me. I think the full white of the text and the density of the "pattern" really hurts the "form" and function of the cards. I think they would be spot on if he just made the opacity of the white about %50 so the type could become a background rather than the foreground. Some of the numbers are illegible. With that said this is a really fresh idea and will be glad to snag one.

Personally, I've grown tired of typography decks.  Cute novelty, but I've seen so many of them, I find them boring now.  It's unique, but it's a unique deck in a boring category so that doesn't shake the "boring" off of it for me.

1. It would be so "unique," they'd spend too much time focusing on the cards and how cool they look to pay much attention to the trick, really.
2. So you're saying this would be a "one-routine" trick deck, then?  Is it worth it?

I normally let them notice the art enough that it feels natural. and yes having one of these for one routine would be great, since I have many different times I only perform a routine or 2 while hanging out with people. and I am sure I could find other things to do with it given time.

I saw that as well, forgot from where.  Like I said, I'm just not big on this deck.  Love the box, though.

Wait, Froggo, have people actually been naive enough to say this deck is bad because you can't use it practically for magic/games?

I can't believe I missed this deck.  It's at $56K and continuing to grow and you can't get a cheap deck...they've all sold out.  I'm not paying $17 for a f&*King deck!!!  I like it, but I just want the damn KS exclusive seal on my tuckbox!  I think they did a very nice job on this deck, but I am not buying any on the principal of the price point.  Make it $11 and even that is raping me, and I'll cough up the dough.

I was able to get a couple of these at the 2 for $25, my 1st KS Backing, can't wait to see them in person and kicked in the extra couple bucks for the seal. I really like the design concept and it was well thought out and planned, keeping on eye on any future released from them.

There funding has been amazing.  :D

I'm happy the funding on this deck is good and it will be made. I love the tucks (as simple as they are) and the colors of the cards. Not a huge fan of the deck after they released the design for the faces but still not a bad deck. Definitely better than most on Kickstarter right now.

Update:

"Hey Everyone!

We wanted to put out a status update since USPCC notified us that they just receive the tuck boxes yesterday (Friday) from the custom tuck printer due to a delay. USPCC overnight-ed to us last night tuck box samples of each tuck version (not including the cards) that just arrived this morning so we wanted to share this will you. Here are photos of the tuck samples they sent. The tuck boxes look and feel fantastic!

As you all know we had hoped the decks would be well on their way to us by now. With the delay from the custom tuck printer, this means that the decks will go into the finishing process next and USPCC is estimating that they will ship the decks out to us at the end of next week. So we are still anxiously and patiently waiting for the decks to arrive but we wanted to keep you all in the loop as we get status updates from USPCC. We know it is not easy to wait and we too are soo ready to dedicate all our efforts to the shipping process once the decks arrive. All packaging materials are here and we are just wrapping up the remaining few backers who still have missing info on their orders. If you moved, please let us know asap by sending us a Kickstarter message (click the contact me button on the right hand side of the page under our photo).

Thank you all for your patience. We will put out another update next week and then again once the decks arrive which looks like this may not be until early in the week of Feb 17th if not sooner. Delays are not fun but we are keeping positive and staying focused on making the shipping process seamless so we can get your reward packages out to you as soon as we can.

Thanks again,

Sara & Scott

UnCommon Beat"

They are now shipping out... International first!!

UPDATE:
"Fantastic News!  The decks have arrived today so we wanted to send out an update to keep you all in the loop and share in the great news!  The cards look absolutely stunning!  The printing of the designs are striking with sharp crisp lines and refined details…even the back design emulating the silk moiré book cloth printed beautifully with a sophisticated undertone.  We are so thrilled for you all to finally see them in your own hands.  Here are some photos of the cards we took today (sorry in advance for posting so many :) )!

We are pulling up our sleeves and jumping right into packaging, sorting, and labeling all international packages since international packages will be shipped out first altogether followed by the domestic packages.

We will follow up next week with photos of the packages and provide a status of when the international package will all be shipped out. We will be dedicating all our time until the packages are out the door and out to all of you.

We are soo pumped to get these to you!  Have a great weekend!  I can hear the tape ripping already…
