Title: Yo!
Post by: DecoPlayingCards on March 13, 2013, 03:11:39 PM
Hey all, I am Ned Redmond, the owner and founder of Deco Playing Cards.  We are a recent startup in the United States dedicated to creating cards that are works of art as well as educational: each deck will be inspired by material culture or art history.  While not a designer myself, I fund and direct the artists, conduct business, do shipping, and create promotional materials.  I have been interested in an undertaking like this since I studied art history in college.  Finally trying to live the dream of creation!

I found out about the forums after your own Don Boyer messaged me on Kickstarter.  I had just debuted our first project: the Sultana deck.  I don't know how to hyperlink text in this forum, so here you go:

 ??? <- I particularly enjoy your emoticons.

Best of luck - it's ambitious to create a deck, but if your dreams don't scare you a little, are they really worth pursuing?  :))

This board uses something called "BBCode" for formatting text, including hyperlinks.  (BTW: using the word "hyperlinks" is a dead giveaway that you're older than the approximate age of the average member, which is around 20-25!)

Your link was autoformatted for you, as you can see below from where I quoted your post - if you swap the { and } with [ and ], you'll see how it works.  The text between the first } and the second { can be edited to read as you wish, while the part after {url= can be any web page address you wish.

Hey Ned! Welcome to the forums. To use hyperlinks, put the text you want into the URL below and it will look like this. (http://www.google.com)

Code: [Select]
[url=http://ADDRESS.com]text[/url]

I'm glad someone enjoys the emoticons. The little bastards took me hours to make. :P

Step 1: Make your own intro thread instead of hijacking another. ;)

Welcome to the boards mate.

Happy to share my e-space, Chosen. Better that than my carrot.

   :karrit: Don't touch my carrot.
