well Hi I guess,Hey Ben, I am from the South West of England near Bath and Bristol - I'm wondering how did you start to get into performing, and being hired? Did you advertise yourself or did you pay for advertisement? I am very interested in getting paid for doing magic (obviously.. haha).
I am Benny, I am a working magician living near Liverpool (UK) and I have only recently started collecting cards
I mainly use Ace fultons casino for performing because they are incredibly durable and handle like a dream!
I am aged 15 and have regular jobs for restaurants, masonic lodges and events.
My favourite types of tricks to perform by far are poker style tricks with lots of sleights , I practice 2-3 hours a night and often work in a duo
Thank you for your time
From
Benny
Also, what are masonic lodges? (I'm 16)
Hi Lara,
I've always been interested in magic, while in Italy last year I cheated in poker and I've done magic on and off,
this may be surprising though but I started this May, I spent months doing 5-6 hours practice a night! I read loads of books learnt the history, I made sure I was unspottable doing sleight of hand and I continued from there.
I currently have 3 working repertoires, one is a cabaret sort of dinner jacket style routine, very Lennart Green styled, my main walkaround sets and then a sit down set that takes 20 minutes.
I have a real passion for torn and restored card methods, I own the reformation and a lot of the newer methods and I slowly combine elements to create one I feel comfortable using in most environments.
Thank you for such a warm welcome though, I really appreciate it!
Now to go practice :D
Thanks once again
-Benny
Pretty impressive!
So, I have to ask - what would you consider to be the best TnR routine out there?

Easily star by Dave Forrest or the reformation, I love and use both, mainly star when the angles are perfect (almost always) because there is less work in performing it and I'm meeting him soon so I need to be good! :')
What do you think of Wayne Houchin's version with the lighter?
It happens to be one of my favorites, from my favorite magician (so I may be a little biased)
What I love about his work is that it is not very difficult yet VERY powerful. That shows that his priority is taking the spectator's (layman's) view point, and not magic for magicians (with the obligatory mention of rants by Craig and Dave).Stigmata is the best effect I perform, fools everyone and stuns every layman!
Gotta love young Houchin in sinful. However, STIGMATA ...I mean COME ON!
You rarely get stuff that's that powerful.
