It seems Theory 11 is reprinting the Jaqk deck in red. Don't know how i feel about this. Seems lazy.

5:30 in this video is where you can see it.

My mouth is foaming. You guys have no idea how much I want these.
-
Ahhh, My wallet is going to kill me ::)
-
Admittedly they do look nice, the box with all that shiny red foil is pretty cool but aren't people tired of taking decks and just changing the palette and calling it amazing? I heard about them this morning and was excited at first thinking it was an all new deck, since the first one had some great design. Just a color change though, meh.
-
Although I do hate color swaps, I love the Jaqk deck to no end and since I love this deck so much, there's no chance I will pass these bad-boys up 8)
-
Ahhh, My wallet is going to kill me ::)
not only yours....oh man!
Bicycle Asura / Blue Tune / WHite Lions Series B and Split Spades Silver / Red JAQK / etc...

I missed out on the original JAQK decks from T11, and I absolutely LOVE the design of them, so I will definitely get a bunch of these!

Plus all the kickstarter decks, the rebels coming up, a new E deck...
On a side note, I find the look very appealing to me, especially since I traded my only JAQK deck away. At this speed however, soon enough the only way to get our hands on all the decks released by USPCC will be by putting all of them in a collectif place and share them. Shucks. :P (My usual optimism)
-
I will most certainly get the Red JAQK's. I love the JAQK Cellars deck and I'm a fan of the design group behind it, Hatch Design (they also created the Sentinels deck).
-
being the owner of the first two editions, i can't miss these ones, just to add to my collection. I find them beautifull, though not really great for magic use. They are a bit too distracting...
-
If there is around 5000 printed, how long do you think they will last? I will be away from any technology and I really want atleast a brick or two (not for resale but personal use).
-

If 5000 are printed.............I have a feeling these will last a lot longer than people might think.
-
Mmmm its nice, the old one feels calm, placid and elegant. The new one is the same but looks although it's got attitude, I'm going to make your hands bleed from hour and hours of usage! The red gives it this new aura! no, ok... ;)

I would actually disagree. I don't think these will last 48 hours.

Well I get back at 11am on Saturday so it will be pretty close. I so hope I can make it!
-
I might get them, I like the JAQK but need to get a clip to protect them so I can use them outside of my house. lol
-
I don't think these will last very long. it won't be an instant sell out but it won't be there for more than 2 days IMO
-
is there any chance it won't be limited? at least not 5000 limited. i have to save my money for split spades
-

Guys, remember one thing with T11 - they DO make reprints of their decks. Black Stingers, Propaganda and who knows what else. I have no freakin' clue why they don't sell them on their own site, but they do make them. The blue JAQK deck is still for sale at the JACK Cellars winery! I'd be amazed if they didn't carry the red one when it's released.
I'm so glad I don't buy decks advertising alcohol or tobacco products...
-
I'm going to buy a TON (hopefully around 30 of they cost $4.95 like their predecessors) to use as my everyday decks (once again, I'm not trying to hoard them for myself and sell them when they are worth 2-3 times as much, I just love the look of the JAQK cards), and after this, I'm going to go on hiatus from purchasing cards for a while (except for White Lions v2 and Silver Split Spades). I haven't made any big purchases since Magic-Con v2, and I feel that I am finally grasping the concept that I can't own every deck, so I will just start buying what I really enjoy, and hopefully everything else will fall into place collection wise.
-
I think I'm going to begin with this concept too. Only buying the decks I really like. Not all decks that loog ok for me... :) So, I'm certainly gonna get some jaqk's, but after that. They do look awesome. My only problem is that I think every deck looks really good, that's often my problem. I like them all... :) Still, will consider reducing my collection.
Maybe I missed it, but will there be any difference from the standard JAQK except for the colour?

So far, no information has been released about that, but considering the box is exactly the same (besides color), I figure the deck will be just a simple palate swap from the current JAQK decks, just utilizing the metallic red ink that is prevalent on their "Titanium Series".
-
I've never touched a JAQK deck before, I don't have one so getting a change to get the red JAQK is actually great for me.
-
These look AMAZING!
The red that they used is my favorite color and it looks like such a rich color! It also looks like there is metallic ink.
-
Oh. My. Gosh.
These are gorgeous! I am with Evan on this one. I love that deep, rich, blood-red color, and I think that it is indeed metallic.
-
These just look beautiful!
-
Mmm mmm mmm. Touche!
-
I hate the red on these, its to dark IMO.
-
i love them !!!!!!!! amazing colour and i think better than the first version
-
One of my favorite decks, can't wait to get this version!
-
Definitely getting these this friday. Missed the original one and regretted very much about it...

sorry for going out of the topic here but is it okay if theory11 cancelled my order if I buy something on their website and there is free White Monarch on my cart and then I paid straight away? (already received the confirmation email/receipt)
They said it was cancelled because i bought it during a system glitch but if you saw a free White Monarch in your cart I bet all of you will buy it as well. Is there anyway I can "force" them to send it?
thanks

You have about as much power to force them into selling you a White Monarch as you have when forcing the sun to stay in the sky overnight...
Now get back on topic. There's another topic on White Monarchs already; go there if you want to talk more about it.

JAQK Coins!
I'd like to get a couple as card covers for my poker games

Anyone know what time the release is?

11am EST And don't think these will last 24 hours

I am hoping these are not limited, i might get one later on. also anyone know if the coins are limited? I am more interested in them.
-
Ohhh! - Those coins are innovative. I'd like to add one or two of those to my collection to go alongside my De'vo coin. Can't wait for the release!

JAQK is being sold now. Got just a six-pack of them and one Aristocrat, cause I only had the blue ones yet... :)

Scored me a brick!!

What makes you say that? We don't even know the amount printed. The blue T11 decks are still for sale at the JAQK Winery website - these will probably end up there as well.
It's no secret that T11 does additional print runs but makes them available through other retailers rather than on their own site...
-
Don, the one you stated is the original version of JAQK deck and have 1 way back design only.2 different things. JAQK from T11 is sold out long ago.
-

Wrong. Take a look:
http://jaqkcellars.com/stuff-jaqk-cellars-merchandise/signature-playing-cards
The original JAQK deck had two different colors of deck seals. The T11 version doesn't have a deck seal.
The deck on sale now at JAQK Cellars HAS NO DECK SEAL. It's the T11 version.
T11 makes additional print runs. They did it to Propaganda and Black Stingers - possibly more.
-
Don is right, the first edition is sold out for a long time now and are highly valuable. They're selling the second edition. I bought some myself...
-

To be accurate, it's first & second PRINT RUN, not edition. Same edition.

Are you sure you arent wrong? If you look at the pics there, the back design is a one way back which would mean that it is not the T11 version.
-
like I already said, I ordered from there and I'm 100% positive it's the theory11 version. Gonna give you some mails:
I send:
Ok I agree, I just want to be sure these are the 2-way backs.
She answers:
Yes, the Theory11 decks have 2-way backs.
I send:
And these are the ones you are sending to me, right?
She answers:
Yes, that's correct.

I got 14 packs of Red's...

And I just was thinking because on the Theory11 forums and on here everyone was saying they were going to get a bunch or a brick.
And yea that's true.
Also guys look at this Pre-Release Edition Monarchs Uncut

What happened to the JAQK coins? I didn't see them anywhere and I was hoping to get some!
-
What happened to the JAQK coins? I didn't see them anywhere and I was hoping to get some!
Me too! - I really wanted to see how I was able to get them, but I didn't see anything on theory11 about coins. Maybe, they'll be available on JAQK's website.
-
You are able to get them at JAQK Cellars winnery, but I think you have to order some wine to get them. At least, you can see the chip on the $75 bottle. I'm not very dissapointed they didn't sold it, and I didn't expect them too either. I think T11 still tries to sell products that refer to magic in some way. Card-related stuff and Tricks. I don't really see them beginning a business with hand lotions or chips...
-
I contacted JAQK cellars, they had them for a press release and that was all, they don't make or sell them. I am hoping T11 makes some and sells them. I would buy a brick of red JAQKs for a handful of those coins, I play poker and it would really pop at our games. :)
-
Just ordered 6, you guys can expect a review from us.
-
a press release
Press Release? What press release? Oh well, maybe I'll find them on Ebay.

Hi John,
We do not make or sell the chips or coins. Those were used for a press release back when we first started up. Sorry!

Are you sure you arent wrong? If you look at the pics there, the back design is a one way back which would mean that it is not the T11 version.
What you were seeing was the back of the box - not the back of the cards. As confirmed by Simonart, the JAQK Cellars deck on sale there now is the T11 version they "sold out" of some time ago. They either released a healthy quantity to the winery when they were first made, or they're making additional print runs just as they did for the Black Stingers, Propagandas and who knows how many other decks. I think the Sentinels are the first time they ever reprinted a deck, just reprinted, and not only didn't call it "version 2" with a fancier box, but actually sold the subsequent printing on their own web site. They never sold Erlanger-made Propagandas, yet they popped up in shops all over the Internet a few months ago...those decks didn't come from Keebler elves, Lucky the leprechaun or Fulton's Barber Shop - they came from Theory11, but never ended up on the website's inventory, instead being sold direct to resellers.
Actually, there's a branch of magic related to coin magic that deals exclusively with casino-style poker chips. There's all kinds of gaffed chips, much the same as the gaffed coins that exist for coin magic - magnetic, shells, etc. So having chips for sale wouldn't exactly be beyond the purview of a magic shop.
-
Regarding the pics of the box/cards on the JAQK site, only the box shows up when you open the page. However, you can scroll through other pics of the actual cards and they are still showing the first deck with the one-way back. I"m sure they just left the pics up and never made new ones for the new T11 2-way back version.
I sent them a message the other day myself. The decks you get off of the normal sale website are the T11 version, regardless of the picture. They did have some of the original decks with the yellow seal and red seal left, but you have to order them yourself by message/email. They will then send you an invoice for the decks. The decks were $25 each when I contacted them plus shipping.
-
Thank you for clearing that up DelMagic

That's funny. When I bought two original (Blue) JAQK decks, I remember them selling out quickly, quicker than these anyway. I guess many theory11 shoppers are not big fanatics of Promotional decks. I, myself, would have to agree with them.

I'm honestly upset that it costs an extra dollar. I don't know what makes this cost more then the predecessor.

red foil, inflation, and greed.

Oh come on! I'm sorry, but a dollar? It's not that bad mate... No offense, but they would have updated handling which would cost more.

I believe it has nothing to do with greed, it is an extra Dollar and inflation is out of proportion....

Sorry guys, but what you are saying is ridiculous... ::)

I know that is is only one more dollar, but they once mentioned that just because of a deck being limited (White Monarchs) that they would not increase the price. I completely forgot about the better handling, so I guess that does make since. At the time of posting, I thought they were being hypocrites, but I guess that argument is now invalid. Thanks Joker and the Thief!
P.S. One Dollar might not sound like a lot, but since I got 2+ bricks (25 Decks), even though there is a discount, it was still more then I originally thought it would cost me.

Um, I know I'm opening a can of worms with this question, but WHY 25 DECKS?!? I don't even think I have that many red Bikes!

Don't worry, I knew this question would come up sooner or later. The original Jaqk deck is my favorite deck that I own, and I only got a few because I didn't know how much I liked it. After I used them and beat the crap out of them, I regretted not buying more (I know I can get them on the official Jaqk website, but I don't like paying $9 for one deck of cards), and I decided I would rather pick up two bricks now and use them (Yes, I will actually use most of them within the coming years) then possibly never having the chance to pick these up again for this price.

I can actually understand that. I've stockpiled a few of my favorite decks for much the same reason. Crown decks, Guardians, Monarchs, Black New Fan Backs, Bicycle Split Spades stripper and marked decks, white and black Arcanes, Ghost, Black Ghost...

It's hard to tell with a T11 release - except for their rarest decks (and sometimes not even then) they never give totals for how many were printed. But for those who missed it, I wouldn't fret much - there will almost certainly be another print run appearing at JAQK Cellars to go with the T11 blue one that's there now...

Loldudex2 and I were chatting away about this deck on one of the deck review topics and I thought it would be more appropriate to have that chat here instead. Here's what transpired...
One thing that is being missed in the reviews is the fact that the box is not embossed like the blue jaqk box. This made me upset, however i really do love this deck.
Glad I'm not the only one that noticed. It really did make the blue box, really beautiful and elegant. I have no idea why they didn't add it.
Simple guess - increased costs. Also there's the issue of production policies that change like the breeze over at USPC. Earlier this year they stated they'd no longer be able to do deck boxes that are embossed on BOTH sides. It's as if they had the technology and somehow lost it, never to be found again... :)) More seriously, though, they probably found it was more error-prone than it was worth. You might have received all perfect-looking blue JAQK boxes (or close to perfect at the least), but how many percent of those produced had to be culled for defects while still at the factory? We just don't know. I can't imagine you'd have been any less disappointed if the box was embossed only on the front, would you have?
Actually, if USPC still has that policy, then next Monarchs print run is going to look rather disappointing...
This is just a wild guess, Don, but were the original decks (before t11) made by USPCC? The most I could find is they were made by an "unnamed casino card manufacturer". I feel this would make a lot of sense, and when t11 reprinted them, they used left over tuck boxes from the first run (which is why the bottom of the box reads 2008, when they were released in 2011, and why there is a one way back on the box), and possibly now for the red version, te boxes were made in-house at USPCC, where the might not have the tools and technology available to make that fine detailed embossing.
Does that make any sense at all, or am I just completely wrong and misled?
Actually, you could be completely correct. USPC is known for reusing old, extra boxes like that. I have some decks, common stuff like Tally Ho and Bikes, where the box said Cincinnati, but the cards inside said Erlanger.
No matter how you slice it though, they had the technology to make boxes that are embossed on the front and back - clearly they were doing it in 2008. But now they're not. It's like some civilization using "black box" technology that suddenly breaks down, and the people who were using it no longer have the knowledge of how it operates, and thus can't fix it.
But we're starting to clutter up this review page, when these comments would be better suited for this deck's topic on the PCP. If you'd like to continue, please start it up there and I'll follow you.
Actually, I'll make copies of these posts we've made and drop them over there.
If you have something to add, jump right in, please.
-
So, what are your impressions on the deck? Which of the two versions do you prefer in design colors and handling? Also, since I wasn't home until they sold out, how much did they cost?
-
I love this deck!!!! It's much more striking in comparison to the blue, but I have to say I do prefer the blue to the red... Probably just me, but the red JAQKs we a little rougher edged out of the box, but they handle pretty much the same as the blues, top notch. I'm quite sure they cost $6.95 maybe $5.95, I'm not too sure, I bought 6 at one go so I cant really remember past the shipping costs and all. If you missed out on the release I don't mind trading you one, just send a message my way ;)
-
I got my decks and I must say, they have become one of my favorite decks design-wise. They handle really nicely and unlike most decks.
Did anyone else's deck come in this order?
-
Did anyone else's deck come in this order?
Nope! It's cool and interesting. It reminds me of that blue Artifice v2 from a month or so ago, only this has all the cards, just mixed up a little.

I have just sent you a PM.
Evan, that's funny you got your deck in that order. Probably a little error that slipped through Q1. I've never actually experienced something like that, but this is pretty fun to see.
-
I like this deck a lot. The case is beautiful and it gives a chance to those who hadn't the chance to buy the first version to own a very nice version of this deck.
But what I wanted to know is: do anybody knows how many decks were printed? I didn't found that reference anywhere.
-
This is just a pure guess but knowing these lasted for 3 days, that they had these were medium to highly wanted, I'd say there were around 10,000 decks made. That's what I think. It isn't one of the rarest, but it isn't a really common deck. So I'd say something like that.
Now that they will more than probably do multiple runs for resellers. So they can certainly go up to 20,000 decks or more.
