Title: Cellophane wrapped a different way on these Bicycle decks
Post by: CBJ on March 06, 2012, 03:11:24 PM
Hey guys,

I picked up a set of the cardboard tuckboxed versions of the Bicycle Prestige decks.

But, I noticed something right away.. the cellophane is wrapped differently on them.
If you look at the pics, you can clearly see that I can lift the cellophane and put something in there.

This deck is a little thicker and heavier than a regular Bicycle deck because the cards are plastic.. do you think they had to use a different machine to wrap them??  maybe outsource it?

Disclaimer: Having not seen them, I'm just guessing...

Are they still made in Spain? - in which case I guess that perhaps they're being wrapped by Fournier, rather than in the US?   Perhaps it's just what Fournier do?

Wow.. the small print says a lot

So I bought it off a seller in the UK.. but the box says these were imported into Canada from Spain.

So yes.. they are made in Spain.

Thanks

Should've guessed it was made for Canada when I see the French on the box.

I've been looking for that style box!  The thick black cardboard box on the current issue is too bulky to be practical.

I'd hazard a guess and say that yes, different machines were used - especially since they were made in Spain!

I had no idea these were manufactured by Fournier.  I thought there were some handling similarities between this deck and the Karnival Death Heads.

I'm going to snap a few up!  Thanks for the link.  It's not only the original box, but it's the Canadian version at that!

The "buy it now" prices on eBay put it at $6-12.  This type of box in available in blue only from one seller for $13, and from another for $4 but the box is damaged and the photos are dodgy-looking.
