So I know there has been a large amount of growth in the playing card and magic community so I thought it would be interesting to see how long many of us have been collecting in a poll. I know there are many brand new collectors on here and there are also many veteran collectors on here as well. Check out the poll and enjoy the collecting!
Bonus Question! - What was the deck that started off your collection (your first deck)??

My first deck? I believe it was two packs of bikes in a poker set...

Awesome!! I think my first deck was one of the classic tourist decks I got in Costa Rica! I've been collecting for over 2 years now.

The deck that got me into cardistry was a deck of 125th anniversary bikes (blue). The first I ever bought was a deck of Bees, but I didn't really get anywhere back then.

Started magic about 10 years ago and regularly performed with Bicycles, WPT Bees, and Tally Hos, but it wasn't until whenever the Black Tigers were first released that I started buying cards for collecting rather than performing.
The first deck that got me into magic was probably a stripper deck from a Murphy's Magic kit I got as a kid and Black Tigers were the decks that got me into collecting.

Oh god. I just typed in a whole explanation answering all these questions, but apparently it got lost so I'll just make it brief. I started collecting seriously about 6 and 1/2 months ago, started out with all used up and torn and almost brown from dirtiness bridge size red bikes.

I started out with magic and then I saw the Gold Arcane deck.... that got me started in collecting and in just a year, I have bought over 200 decks. My first deck was a standard bicycle deck but my first "collecting" deck was my Gold Arcane.

I've been using my standard bikes for a few years for magic but have only started collecting in the last year and a half or so, I think my first deck that started my collection was Bicycle Shadow Masters.

For me, it was about a year ago, and first started me off were four decks: Tragic royalty, Shadow masters, and 2 others i can't think of at the moment, ill update soon.

Bonus Question! - What was the deck that started off your collection (your first deck)??
I used Bicycle 808s and Tally Ho for a period of time. Transducer Aqua was the most expensive deck I bought when it was released, I think it's the deck that started off my collection.

My first deck was a crappy poker deck from the dollar store. My first bicycle was pink fashion series from Toys R Us. I have been collecting for just over 2 years now.

To be honest I've only really begun collecting when I joined Aethercards which was roughly about a month ago, but I have been buying decks before but not really for collection but to use them. And I gave some away. (silly me) but yeah my very first deck was BEES from luxor casino and white ghosts and a shadow masters (which are all gone) ^_^

I started when I placed an order with E - got a little bit of every deck design, including some gaffs, rising cards, strippers, etc. That order arrived Dec. 24, 2010. I was performing tricks by Dec. 25th!

You should add an option for 10+ and 20+ because I know some members here have been lifetime collectors.

I started collecting just over two and a half years ago. But I haven't been actively purchasing decks for that long - I didn't buy any decks for at least a year in the middle of that.
And the first deck I got (collection-wise, so not including generic decks I got previously) was a red rider back deck. It was the first deck I'd ever got that actually handled well. I was amazed, so started buying a few more Bicycles, then it grew from there. Unfortunately, I lost the cards for that deck while moving house although for some insane reason I still have the tuckbox for them. Although, I still have the cards and tuckbox for my second deck (a blue rider back).

about 6 or 7 month i think it was a black tiger deck i ordred from amazon then got some artifice then arcane and a brick of bikes i was just geting decks from amazon until i typed the elusionist decks in then i placed an order with angel magic and got my first v5 and v6 and jaqk and split spades and then it went crazy from there =D

I remember my first time (Collecting decks of course :P ), I saw the propaganda deck and was really impressed by it, then I went over to T11 and also saw the guardians deck and before I know it, snap, I got those two at the most stupidest prices ever... I stopped for awhile thinking it was a one time event and that's it but I occasionally drop by T11 to see any new deck releases, then I found out about E and D&D and many others. I started somewhere late last year, about a few months ago, november or october? I can't really remember. At that point of time I had decks coming in almost everyday as I ordered them on ebay and a few other sites.. and got scolded by my dad for buying 'useless' stuff... :-*

no, I started performing card magic with 808, that's right. But I just used it, not collected it. 808 and Aqua have different meaning to me.

I bought some E decks because the design years ago.
But I didn't get into the collecting like this.
I didn't even know what smoke and mirror was.
I started to get into this world because of the red artifice decks.
I got a brick of those, and I traded them for SM v1, some wynns so that's called the beginning of my collections.
