Title: Hi from down under...
Post by: redler on September 11, 2019, 01:23:15 AM
Hi, I'm redler from Australia.  I'm into collecting cards because I like the look of them and they are also very useful to play with.  A nice combination.  I can't call myself a serious collector though, since I don't target rare, old or valuable decks/cards.  I mainly just buy a few packs of cards I like the look of (a couple to keep and one or two to play with).  I like cards, but don't take them too seriously.  I don't believe in taking anything too seriously.  I find that folks who take things too seriously tend to be a bit kooky to my way of thinking (no offense intended).  Anyhow, happy days.

One doesn't have to collect old or rare or valuable decks in order to be a collector.  Some people like decks from casinos, some people like tourism decks, some people like plain-Jane, basic designs - it's all up to your preference.  In other words, yes, you're a collector!

My wife refused to own up to being a collector, until I pointed out to her that she owned more than thirty decks.  She argued that she only buys decks with really attractive artwork on them - and I replied that only meant her collection was themed and very specialized!
