Is it my imagination, or are we seeing some revived interest in transformation decks?

The Motley Pack (https://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/2153113) (1875) and Vanity Fair deck (https://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/2180858) (1895) are two recent examples that come to mind of beautiful reproduction versions that are in the process of being produced.

Transformation decks are among my personal favourites, so I'm certainly pleased to see attention being given to them.

Actually, the article he's referring to was from an older issue of Clear the Decks.  There's a column in Card Culture where we revive articles from the past, giving people a fresh look at them.

As far as interest in transformation as well as semi-transformation decks, I think it's always been there, bubbling away just under the surface.  You don't see as many of them because it requires considerably more work and creativity than a standard deck design - it's one of the tougher projects a designer can take on.  But there's a real charm to them and they have a long-lasting appeal.
