Today is the last night you can purchase the LTD deck, and I want to know what you think will happen. I know they said they will use them as contest giveaways, but what else.
I'm guessing they will have random "Spend X amount and get a free LTD." events throughout the year.
I'm also guessing in the future they will make other colored versions such as green and blue.

I don't think they will make any other versions of it... definitely not green.

Let me rephrase that. I hope they will be releasing other colors.
-
Yeah, I doubt they'd release it in other colours. Although, I'd definitely be interested in a blue LTD. deck.
-
Please no. Releasing LTD in another colour is just plain laziness. If they want to cultivate the exclusivity of their decks, E should re-design another deck with another name and make it blue once LTD is depleted.
That was one of the problems the designer toys industry has. Launch a toy and call it a limited edition of 100 pieces. After that launch 10 waves of different colourways (lava black, glow-in-dark, transparent clear etc) with the same design of 100 pieces each and still called them limited editions. That killed the exclusivity and collectability of the original colourway.
-
I don't think they will have series for this deck.
LTD means limited. So it has to be unique.
-
Really depends on how many they have left, contest prizes are a given but anything past that will depend on their leftover stock.
-
With the extra LTD decks, Ellusionist will either serve them as rewards for contests/competitions or they will give them out for cardists to use. Although, they just might keep them and distribute them throughout their company.
-
As far as seeing LTDs as buyer's premiums, don't count on it. They've explicitly said this was the only opportunity to get it as a premium - future decks will be contest prizes and the like, unless they decide to go back on what they said.
As interesting as this deck would look in different colors, I don't see it happening. They didn't make a red Artifice v2 because they didn't want to dilute the value of the v1 release, so they have an appreciation for some of the points Lordlupus was making. At best, they'd release an "UnLTD deck" of a similar design, and maybe do that in colors.
-
I really dont see them even making a unLTD deck. I just feel they will want to move on to something different and new.
-

I actually like that idea, but it'd have to be at least different enough to make the real LTD decks still worth owning. I have one that is dedicated to being used, and I want it to keep looking special.
-
I asked them this question a few days ago, and they said that the remaining LTD. decks will be given away as contest prizes, or through 'Spend $X and get a free LTD. deck' offers.
Hope that clears things up. :)
-
I'd swear they said no "Buy X to get a LTD. deck" after this holiday special...

you are right, they said you could only do this now unless you win it in a contest.
-

They told me in an email that the only possible ways to get the LTD. deck from them were to win a contest that offers the LTD. deck as a prize, or through a 'Spend $X and get a free LTD. deck'. They did say that nothing was final, but that there will be at least one other chance to get the deck.

I'm sure there will be many opportunities to get the LTD, and that it'll be around for a while. They made BG1E a handful of years ago and still have some in stock - it was also a 5,000-deck run. Same for Gold Arcane, which is newer. You can't use Red Artifice as an example, since the initial sell-off makes it a unique case. As of the middle of last year or so, they were estimating they had about a thousand BG1Es and about FOUR thousand GAs. I can't honestly believe they gave out more LTDs in a single holiday shopping season than they did GAs during all the time since it was first offered.

While I can't give you any exact numbers, there are very few LTD decks left. The holiday promotions really did a number on the quantity of our limited (not just LTD) decks.

I stand corrected. What about a rough number of how many left? A thousand? More? Less?

Less.

Less than 1000?!!?!?
Does that mean that over 4000 people made orders over $150 during that time?

no, they gave away 2 decks per order for a period in time. I'm sure that's when they got hammered with orders and had their stock depleted.
I know I ordered when that promo came..unfortunately the bg v1 deck that came in the same package was damaged which sucks.

If you get a damaged BGV1 then you can contact them and they will send you another one if you cut up the damaged one.
-
well it was cellophane damage. 2 tears in the front. I'll look into it.

Don't forget that they had the 2 LTD. decks promotion, and the bricks of LTD.s that were offered as part of the prizes. :P

Let's assume that they get 2 decks for $150.
So that means 2000*150 = 300000$
They get at least 300000$ from the holiday sale????
Well actually it must be more maybe 600000$.
Cause they got less than 1000 with them.
And a lot of people get 1 per 250$

It's safe to say that E was effective in using its rare special decks to boost holiday sales. I'd say this also leaves room for more rare-deck designs to come!

Not all were given away through the promos, the LTD decks have also been given out to artists (mostly to throw cards at Jason's ribcage area), and we used a bunch to build TIE fighters as well. Oh, and Jake ate a few bricks of them too. Boy, that guy can eat a lot of cards!

Dude, it hurts when you make me laugh that hard... :))
