Greetings all. My name is Kash and I have to thank the Vortex Kickstarter project for introducing me to the world of playing cards collecting.
 
I have always been a collector of stuff (toys, CCG, basketball cards, street arts) as well as an overgrown gamer (boardgames, tabletop wargames, PS3) and I was actually looking for boardgame KS projects to back when I stumbled upon the Vortex KS project. The info written there pipped my curiousity ("what the heck is a gaff?", "one-way back, huh?", "secret reveal? What's a secret reveal???") since as a casual poker player, a poker deck is just a simple poker deck.
 
Thanks to all the discussions on this forum, as well as all the very useful info found on 52cartes blog and the "Magic and Playing Card News, Info, and Sneak Peaks" facebook page, I am now a new playing card collecting addict  8)
  Alex should get a cut from E, T11, TBC and D&D for all the $$$ I have spent starting up my collection.  :)
  Hope to contribute more to this forum. And thanks for all the interesting information you all have shared in your discussions!

Welcome to the boards Kash! It's an honor to have enthralled you in the world of playing cards. Like you, I had always been collecting things my whole life. My love for magic and poker is what naturally drew me to collecting (and now designing) decks.

Thanks for the welcome alex. And I will be waiting anxiously for my Vortex cards from you! (Though I am kicking myself now for not ordering more... >:(  )

Haha well no need to kick yourself. In about two weeks, I will be selling the remaining supply privately to anyone that asks. As of now, about 350 decks remain unclaimed, and there is only a week left for people to get them. :)
