Theory11 writes: Tomorrow at 11:00pm EST , join us for our final release event of 2011. FIVE new releases and one amazing goal for all of us to share. We're going to need your help (yes,YOU!) to make it happen.
What do you guys think it will be? Guess we'll just have to wait and see!
-
I really hope that there won't be new decks.
Or a new but unlimited decks.
-
latest update on this via Twitter:
Tonight at 11:00pm EST, we have FIVE surprises. Something very meaningful. Something very important - that will literally change lives.
I sure hope they are donating profits to a charity or something. A new effect or deck of cards doesn't exactly change lives...

Isn't that what they said about the Monarchs? And didn't they change lives? ;)

This certainly sounds very interesting, but I hope to God they aren't releasing five new limited decks. That would murder my wallet.

Don't worry, they won't do that. I am kinda thinking they may release 1 limited deck. But its just a guess. I hope they do, but theres no way to know!
-
I hope there aren't any decks, but I think there will be one. I'm sick of new decks every week!
-
This release is gonna be EPIC!!!!....GAME CHANGING!!!....Gonna put all of the other Holiday releases to SHAME!!!!.....My guess is Bicycle Titanium V3!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)
-
I'm guessing Propaganda v2 will be released.
-
Charity Waters Playing Cards. It sounds expensive for $10 a deck, but it is all fine since it is for charity.

Steampunk playing cards by T11!
-
i wonder why they set up the charity waters as singles and a brick package. none of the other cards are set up like that. every other deck u can just choose ur quantity. maybe it comes in an extra nice looking box.
10 is pretty steep for a new deck tho. but it's for charity which is probably why there's no discount even if u buy a brick. the steampunks look awesome

You can just add one to your cart and then change the quantity in your cart ;)

Somehow I'm more attracted to the steampunk deck now that it's released...
And yeah, the water back could've been better

i know, but since they already set it up to do it the same way for all of the other decks i dont understand why they did it this way with these decks. there must be a special reason. cuz it seems like it'd be an extra step for them. since they consider 1 brick to be a separate item (which is why if u add a brick and then a single deck, they're listed as 2 separate things), it would be more work as they would have to create 2 items in their catalog instead of just creating 1 and letting u buy in any quantity.
also, they shouldnt have used a black box when the black crown was just released. but i guess it was being produced at the same time so it happens. back kinda looks like a massa too.

Just ordered 1 steampunk and 1 charity water plus a copy of Pure by Exaterina. The decks look pretty nice but I'm not keen on the Jaqk cellar style tuck cases that much, they feel a little cheap, it looks like the charity deck has one.
-
These aren't limited, right?
-
These aren't limited, right?
I would think that the Charity Water Deck is limited. But neither of the decks say anything about them being limited, so I don't know.
-
These aren't limited, right?
according to the forums, t11 is not sure about the charity waters. they're going to try to keep it as long as possible. which is probably code for it's going to be limited.
as for the steam punks, they didnt really say yet. if i had to guess i think it might be limited in the sense that it'll be like deckone. they'll find a way to make the box more metallic and create a new run so that the current ones will no longer be made.
the steams look awesome tho. but im not too big on the charitys. they dont look very nice imo. it's like a black crown with massa backing. i was going to buy a brick but now im not so sure.
-
even though they are doing something good with this charity deck, I seriously doubt they printed 30,000 of these. They are probablly sending the procedes of this deck to charity...which means if it costs them $5.00 to produce then they send the extra $5.00 to charity. Actually they could be sending less but thats a different topic all together. In short, they are in business to make money. They aren't gonna make a run of these like the Monarchs.
-
Theory11 in a nutshell: Too lazy to customize the difficult parts of card design (court cards) in order to pump out new decks every few weeks.
I love their tuck cases, but at some point you have to just stop buying into the whole idea of buying hastily made products for a premium price.
Charity Water is fine for me, I might pick a few of those up because it's supporting a good cause, and not T11's unwillingness to work for their money.
Also, for a company that consistently bashes Ellusionist and their deck designs, I find it hilarious how they can't come out with something original, custom, and game-changing anymore. Hypocrisy at its finest.
-
It still seems suspicious to me how they all of the sudden come up with a steampunk deck after Lance has been working on his for the past year....I guess imitation is the greastest form of flattery....Also why does TH11 think that everything is better when you throw metallic ink on it?
-
I thought somewhere in the history pages theory 11 said that the steam punk deck was not theirs even thought there was a pic before this with the words 'theory 11' on the side of the tuck box.
-
MONTHS AGO,,,I specifically asked them on their fb webpage if this was their deck ... they said no

Liers! They probably just weren't ready to release the real info. But thats not right to do.
-
Their own staff has no idea about what's happening there. The side of the Steampunk deck on the teaser from a few months ago said Theory11 very blatantly.
@Munro: Lance commissioned his design first, and got some legal hassle from T11 and USPCC. I think that's why he went with the name Actuators over Steampunk, but don't quote me on that.
-
watch out Alex...I can see it coming already. The 1st release for Theory11 2012. THE INTERGALACTIC BLACK HOLE DECK! featuring silver metallic ink! and ofcourse this is just a coincidence! Has nothing to do with the Vortex! ;)
-
T11 said the clarity deck is finite, but if they are out of stock, they will release 2nd,3rd,... to continue supporting the clarity.
-

To quote the web page at T11 selling the cards:
"100% of the proceeds from each deck purchased at theory11 will go directly to charity: water. Join us. Support charity: water."
Not 100% of the PROFIT, but 100% of the PROCEEDS. Meaning they're eating the cost of the deck and giving all the cash they take in for this deck to the charity, period.

Actually, the page states this:
"A joint creative collaboration between the United States Playing Card Company and theory11. Produced by theory11 and designed by Alex Beltechi in Romania."
Remember months ago, when T11 redesigned bicyclecards.com? A collaboration was announced with T11 working hand in hand with USPC. It was at the same time that the Guardians came out with USPC packaging and became part of the USPC's regular line-up and not just a T11 deck anymore.
I think based on that statement that it's the same thing here. As I see it, the deck's really a USPC deck that T11 worked on with them/for them, and it will also be regular USPC stock, like the Eco Edition, Tragic Royalty, WSOP decks, etc. And just as T11 is simply selling Aristocrats made by USPC and didn't "make" them, they're selling the Bicycle Steampunk deck as another USPC deck, but one that they helped design. This would make the statement that it isn't one of their decks true.
-
To me, I really like the new Steampunk decks, although, they do remind me of an industrial deck. The Steampunk is just like the DeckOne's dipped in melted copper. This is probably going to be the first industrial deck I am going to get. I'll tell you guys how it goes.
-
Plain and simple. Theory11 and Bicycle are partners.
"theory11 is pleased to announce our partnership with The United States Playing Card Company (USPC), makers of Bicycle® Playing Cards, to evolve the company’s playing card product line to appeal to a new generation of consumers. Under this strategic alliance, we will work with USPC to create a line of playing cards as well as online content. The goal of this strategic alliance is to combine theory11′s creativity with USPC’s unrivaled distribution power. Accordingly, under this alliance, we will work together to innovate in the areas of web development, playing card design, marketing, and brand enhancement.
We are extremely excited to work with USPC to propel our creative output into the hands of new playing card enthusiasts around the world. In order to remain relevant in today’s world, it’s critical for us to continually evolve the playing card product line, and we believe that this strategic alliance will do just that."

Anyone tried the Charity: Water deck yet? I'm liking how they look and their good cause so I just might pick up a few! The steampunks look cool too , but they don't really stand out for me .
-
Just as I thought - this is what I was referring to, CBJ. So no, it's not REALLY a T11 deck, but it's something T11 worked with USPC on.

Didn't they just come out less than four hours ago? Not even E ships that fast!

Oops, I'm sorry I didnt know when were they released. So sorry about that :(

I was semi impressed with the decks. The steampunk deck is nice, but it really doesn't have that "WOW!" factor. I'm sure I'll pick up two of those way later down the line. The Charity: Water deck really does have that "WOW!" factor for me. The theme (the cause) is awesome! I've heard a great deal about this problem and I think this is a great cause to support. This deck really makes the theme of clean water work for the deck. The back is awesome!! Water canteens?! Hahah that's awesome looking. The AoS is really cool looking too with all the small parts making up the whole.
I'm very curious to see what the court cards look like! I'm sure they'll look great like the rest of the deck! It's a really snazzy looking deck and it supports a good cause! I know I'll get at least two of these sometime soon!
If anybody else gets this deck please post pictures and let us know how it is!
-
I'm not sure. I'll try and fInd out if they are or not. I was actually kinda expecting propaganda v2

Not sure of what? The five releases? The ones that came out already? The ones that are listed above?
If you're talking about the Propaganda release I found on BM Poker World, it's very unlikely that Brooke Michael would get a T11 release before T11 did... They're likely V1 Props.
While we did sneakily get info that V2 Props are coming, it doesn't look like they're coming this year. Check back in a week or two!
-
No I meant if the decks are limited or not

No I meant if the decks are limited or not
The Steampunk deck will be printed until there is no demand for it.
The Charity: Water deck is limited but not very limited. T11 said they will try to keep it in stock for as long as they can.
-
If I wanted to donate to charity, I would and do. The fact the the deck supports a good cause is not a reason to buy them if you don't like them, or not enough for the asking price at any rate. You should look on these decks as any others and view them only as cards for a set price.
-
Just received my package from theory11 and I am very impressed!
The Charity: Water decks are all around awesome! And the steampunk decks are feel really nice but I'm not a fan of the back design.
