Hello, one and all!

This is the PCP but I'm putting this topic here for ALL holiday shopping, sales, giveaways, comments, etc., including magic-related items - think of it as one-stop shopping for the latest information on the holiday season this year.

Ellusionist fired the opening salvo.  Just got an email - one v.2 Smoke bundle including the Greg Wilson DVD for only $99, 'til year's end or while supplies last.  Not bad.  Available now, no need to wait for next week.

We also know they're offering Red Arcanes as a holiday giveaway, but no word yet on how to obtain one aside from being in the Black Club.  BTW: Clubbers - that freebie offer ends Thursday if you haven't already taken advantage, and don't forget there's a coupon code required AND it's a one-shot deal.

Same pure smoke bundle $99 on Penguin magic's "Cool Box".  These are run daily for 24 hours.  Nice magic discounts.  I've come to check this every day now.  Product changes at about 2 am eastern every night.  Phone app is available that gives you a heads up on the next days deal.  Not really holiday related but daily discounts all the same.

So, the holidays are fast approaching, I thought I'd share this giveaway with you all. I'm sure there'll be more to come from many other magic retailers.
Paul Harris has a good habit of putting out some great magic and being associated with it too.
Every $20 gets you one entry.

You might not have noticed this but I started a topic in the PCP for EVERYTHING related to holiday deals for 2013, including magic, just so it's all in one place.  I've stickied the topic to make it more prominent and I'm merging this with that.

Big news - Russell Kercheval is having a blowout sale.

http://d19cgyi5s8w5eh.cloudfront.net/eml/58467018-415X-4ZY1-8439-UY4Y96W1706Y?e=Johnnyb_2011%40yahoo.com&a=U259U531-Z7U0-407Y-Z71Z-8Y15V4Y36WX7&f=&t=1

I'm thinking that it's not so much a holiday sale, but an "I'm-trying-to-ship-my-Quicksilvers-and-ran-out-of-cash" sale, but still, it's worth looking into.  Credit for the scoop goes to John B.

In short, Hornets are under $4 a pack, all other decks (Quicksilver and both Heraldry decks) are under $6 a pack, bulk discounting still applies to drop the price further, and uncut sheets of all of those decks are $33.33.  He's even got a deal for under $40 to get two of every deck he's currently selling.

Brian Brushwood from Scam School is having amazing deals and bundles on his site (I believe it's scamstuff.com). if you'd like his autograph, he also have some signed decks included in some of he bundles as well.

Other than that, yesterday, I found that Best Buy, Amazon, Target, and Wal-Mart all have viewable ads foreshadowing their Black Friday deals. When I looked at them, nothing was extraordinary. Except for, some name-brand phones under a dollar, of course, with a two-year contract.

Hey, wise guy - I was referring to the fact that it's the PLAYING CARD PLETHORA but that we should post ALL the sales and specials, meaning those covering MAGIC and CARDISTRY, which aren't usually posted here.  Perhaps I should move it to the STISO board and call it a day?

So, Ellusionist released/announced somethings today:

1) The Gaff System - Eric Jones, Calen Morelli, Daniel Madison
- Freaking amazing! The three most creative minds in magic came together to create a truly stunning work of art.

2) Messado Rings
- A unique variation on a timeless classic.

3) Announced their annual holiday sale with two ways to win/earn awesome prizes!
- You can earn amazing prizes by reaching a certain amount of dollars instantly when purchasing, such as an Artifice Stainless Steel Card Clip, Halo Wristband, White LTD. decks, and more.
- You can also earn by making a shipable purchase, where, in that purchase you will receive a raffel number. By the end of the week, Ellusionist will raffle off all entries from the previous week or win one of sixty prizes, such as an Apple computer, signed decks, signed DVD, a gross of playing cards and much more.

What do you guys think of Ellusionist's take this year on their holiday special?

So far, looks like they're doing it up right.  I think raffles are easier to deal with for us than last year's collecting of poker hands.

Since I just started collecting this year I've never partaken in the "holiday season" sales.  I'm looking for advice on when is the best day to buy.

A while back I was reading some old posts from Nov/Dec 2012.  I recall some posters complaining that they made purchases on Black Friday only to see even better deals on Cyber Monday.  I know I'd be pretty bummed if that happened to me so I'm trying to avoid that scenario.  Thanks in advance.

I think over the last few years, Ellusionist have had the best holiday giveaways. This year is even better than last year in my opinion because the raffle system will be much more simpler than last years poker hands as Don mentioned. In comparison to theory11; purchases made from theory11 would allow you to accumulate tokens which give you the choice to allocate between five prizes. These prizes being 10k points elite membership, a gross of their unlimited playing cards, wire production kit (HD camera), ultimate brick (12 of their rarest decks) and a $500 coupon at theory11. Personally, I didn't find any of these prizes appealing with the exception of the ultimate brick. I really hope they have something different this year. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The Blue Crown holiday giveaway spoiler look good. Can't wait to see the rest of it.

Although I think they're doing a fabulous job, I am a bit irked by the $300 reward level for the White LTD. deck, compared to last year's $150 level for the original. Although I'm not going to buy any, I was just shocked. I know you're going to say that Ellusionist is doing this to target those collectors that MUST obtain all in a collection (me), but do you think they may a bit unreasonable? After all, having a steep reward level may deter more potentials buyers, right?

Since I just started collecting this year I've never partaken in the "holiday season" sales.  I'm looking for advice on when is the best day to buy.
On Black Friday, that's usually when the greatest deals are released, such as theory11 is doing this year, but other companies choose to release their specials a bit earlier, such as Ellusionist. Generally speaking, you'd want to be there for a release, in the case that it does sell out. Other than that, I don't think there is a specific "day" to make a purchase, because it ultimately stems down to when the companies release their deals/products and how long such would last. Regarding Cyber Monday, there are still some sales, but I think the peak is obviously on BF.

This year is even better than last year in my opinion because the raffle system will be much more simpler than last years poker hands as Don mentioned.
Although a raffle system is much simpler this year, I did enjoy Ellusionist's variety in terms of their approach last year. To me, it felt like playing a hand of poker, not know what cards you will be dealt. :))

If people wanted White LTDs more cheaply, they could have bought a DVD last week (about $30-$40 with shipping) to get one...

Is it high?  Yeah.  But it's their prerogative as to what point at which to declare the giveaway.  Remember, you're not actually buying the deck for that much money - you're buying merchandise worth that much and the deck is a free gift.  Plus a gift from every tier preceding it, too...

I understand the collector's desire to have it all, but they're freebies, and you're complaining?  Assuming a print run of 2,500 decks, that's in the ballpark of $8,000 the company's just giving away to customers just like you.  At retail, they would easily fetch anywhere from $12,500 to $20,000, assuming they're priced as all their other decks are.  I don't think it's unfair for the company to ask you to meet a minimum requirement to get a free gift.

Personally, I'm unconcerned about the White LTD.  Or the purple ones.  I was disappointed they changed the face designs.

I wouldn't consider it losing, because I wasn't really interested in them. I just like knowing things. :P

UPDATE: theory11 just posted a teaser for one of their three releases on Black Friday, Decoy. It's a rising-card effect, where a card is out-jogged and slowly rises to the top. The also said that one of their other releases will be another deck of cards, possibly rounding out their three, unless they make the BlackJAQKS a promotional item.

Yep, if you go to CARC's site and click the link to any of those decks (ie. http://shop.conjuringarts.org/store/pc/SPECIAL-Exquisite-Six-Pack-44-95-Pstpd-In-the-U-S-144p990.htm#.UpPmO9KORv8 ), where you normally have an "add to cart" button, instead there's this text: "Our Black Friday Sale Starts on Thursday Afternoon! See you then."

  • Kickstarter:
Because there's so many decks coming out in the next few days, I though I'd make a list.

T11:
Black Jaqk (Nov. 29) http://aethercards.com/discourse/playing-card-plethora/(new)-something-dark-coming-soon-(jaqk-cellars)-by-theory11/25/

CARC:
Legends V2.0 (Nov.28) http://aethercards.com/discourse/playing-card-plethora/legends-v2-0-metallic-black-(carc)/

Exquisite (Nov.28) http://aethercards.com/discourse/playing-card-plethora/exquisite-playing-cards-from-carc/

D&D:
Bruce Lee (Nov.27) http://aethercards.com/discourse/playing-card-plethora/new-deck-by-dd-bruce-lee-game-of-death-reprint-black-friday-releases/

KS:
Legacy (Nov.29) http://aethercards.com/discourse/playing-card-plethora/legacy-deck-4pm-designs/

BC:

White Luxury Crown? (Nov.29) http://aethercards.com/discourse/playing-card-plethora/(new)-white-luxury-crown-deck-by-the-blue-crown/

Possible other deck release [out of 4] (Nov.29http://aethercards.com/discourse/playing-card-plethora/(new)-white-luxury-crown-deck-by-the-blue-crown/

Pwew. Feel free to add any I missed.
That being said, what decks are you guys getting in the next week? Any plans to buy things that aren't card related on the 29th? I plan to get some new ski boots.

(Sorry if the first 1/2 should be in the Playing Card Plethora. I just figured a Black Friday thread would go in the Talk Park.)

Whoops. Sorry. I must've forgotten to exit out of the PCP before I made the search  :P.

I still can't find a recent Black Friday thread, though.

Big Blind Media announced a HUGE sale on their site starting "midnight Thursday uk time" - technically this would be 7pm Wednesday EST (assuming "uk time" is Greenwich Mean Time), but since he's probably thinking of midnight as the end of the day rather than the beginning and Owen did call it a Black Friday sale, I'm guessing that he really means 7pm Thursday Eastern time in America and Canada - 4pm Pacific.

Some items are as much as 90% off...  That's a lot of "off"...

This is the link for the Black Friday specials:
http://www.bigblindmedia.com/dealoftheday.asp

BUT - if you go there NOW, you can get a download of Ultimate Impromptu Card Magic for only £5.99, 73% off the MSRP of £21.99!

That offer's good until 2/12/13 - please remember the Brits put the date BEFORE the month...  :))

(Damn it, Nurul, you beat me to it!  But I included more info so  :P )

I attempted to use the code but it says "This discount code is not valid". It may be 11am PST and not EST. This obviously isn't confirmed. Just thought I should share this with you all.

The code seems to be working now. They've got some pretty decent collection and have the Red Imps for less plus 25% off with the code as well.

If I was still a drinker, I would have gotten the flask.  It's nice!  I did get a mess of decks, about a brick's worth of various models.

Congratulations appear to be in order - Lalita, you must have hit your 2,000th post today!  Yay!

I'm having a thought - instead of cluttering the specials topic with who got what, let's move the conversation to the Recent Acquisitions topic instead.  Anyone looking for deals later in the season will have to wade through enough stuff and nonsense as it is.

For club members you can buy 808 gear. I almost got the flask

I got 2 flasks  8)

Damn! I am a drinker and I did not even get the flask in my Bicycle 808 order today  :-[ :-[

If I was still a drinker, I would have gotten the flask.  It's nice!  I did get a mess of decks, about a brick's worth of various models.

I'm not a drinker, but the flasks are too tempted.

unless you need both I might message you about a trade/sale.

Even the Black Friday coupon code is over at Theory11, some of their decks are still discounted 15% if you add them to your cart. It'll be on for a bit longer before they reset them back to now.
Black JAQK, Medallion, White Artisan, Silver Monarch, Red Monarch, Black Artisan, Monarchs are all 5.91$ a deck, so bulk discount price even on a single deck.

I found this in my email this morning =) a mad dash of buying from 4-7PM EST tomorrow. The email continues on with information about the Messado Linking Rings, a Single Needle by Wayne Houchin, the Pure Smoke System, the Gaff System, and finally Angel Z: The Ultimate Guide. So I am assuming that these will be involved in the deals.
Just thought I would share it with you =) this will be done through Facebook tomorrow.

I don't think those products will be apart of it, those are just the latest deals and releases they have.

Anyway, penguin magic have added more titles to their "5 for $99" offer. There's some great titles available.
Also, although this isn't really a holiday promo, coterie1902 have a deal on where if you spend $100 you get a Zenneth Kok Black & White New Fan Back for a discounted price of $25.

http://ammarmagic.com

They sent out a correction late this afternoon.  The coupon code is only good for one of these items - not one of each, just one of one of them:

Mike Rogers Chop Cup, 1"
Final Load baseball
Fab Fruit

and the code expired MAY 1st rather than July 1st.  Of course, the fine print says, as it does for most such sales, that you can't combine this discount with another discount.

LATE EDIT: THE BLUE CROWN CYBER MONDAY SPECIALS

Sale on Black NOCs for $5 continues through today.

Pandrea's Stash - get 3-, 6- or 12-packs of Alex's decks, anything from Crown Decks to Jerry's Nuggets and anything in-between.  Just checked the site, the 6- and 12-packs are already sold out while the three-packs are $15 each, a steal.  If they come back in stock, 6-packs are $25 and 12-packs are $40 - even bigger steals; 50% or more LESS than Dan and Dave are charging for a similar deal!  http://thebluecrown.com/cyber-monday-apstash.html

There's a deal on ten videos by Alex covering classic and original sleights as well; $2 each and only available today: http://thebluecrown.com/ap-tips-tricks.html

Overall, it's not too shabby if I do say so myself...

I'm not having any luck checking out. Looks like their website can't handle the traffic. Oh well, off to spend money elsewhere.

Now sold out. Hope they spend some of that profit on a decent web server for next time.

At least you got that far. It appears that many folks never could get the checkout system to work, according to FB posts that I read. TBC also reported earlier this evening that they were having problems with their site, especially the checkout process. They appear to have decided to go ahead in spite of having a broken website. I was going to add my two cents to the griping at their FB page, but it's probably to no avail, and plenty of others have already complained. None of their other decks impress me, even at $3/each.

I think less, actually!

I saw the email 45 minutes after the stash was up for sale. It took me maybe 10 minutes to choose some other cards, and then WHAM. Gone.

Also, Whispering Imps is doing a cyber Monday sale today.

http://whisperingimps.com/collections/all

There's collector's packs (One red one black) for just $22.50. Another great deal.

I had both a 12 deck pack and 6 deck pack in my cart way before either ran out. I just couldn't check out. Needless to say, I'm pretty sore about it.

I think Vanishing Inc. is having a sale today as we'll.

MrMollusk stated they were still around for at least five minutes after that - but were sold out by 12:55am.

It required some serious patience, but I landed Red LTD and Gold Arcane decks from Ellusionist's cyber Monday (now Tuesday as well) sale.  Also landed a red artifice uncut sheet - I've never purchased a sheet before so I'm not exactly sure what to do with it...

Starting to get better...have to stay dedicated...can't lose any more cards in the middle of a trick.  Literally, completely lost a card.

I would suggest getting it framed nicely. When done well, it should look really good.

So I am unsure if I should start a new topic but T11s holiday contest - I really enjoy it. they even made it so if you use a proxy to hide your ip so you can spin for free again you can't, not that I tried, also I really would love to go meet David Copperfeild. That might beat Dons, David Blaine story.

Did anyone take advantage of the Ellusionist (E) Flash Frenzy Cyber Monday Sales? I have been eager to get into the Black Club, I saw my opportunity at $110.25. The Black Club has probably increased in size 5X - 10X now. Could this increase impact E sending out free gifts to members due to additional shipping costs? Will E top what they did last year or will it decline?

The theory11 Christmas contest is amazing this year, I think. Your getting an opportunity to win something everyday. My first spin I received 50 elite points. I do have concerns about the coding of the wheel. Does everyone win 50 points first spin? I will keep you updated.

12/6 - 50 Elite Points

I got 50 Elite Points too, but I had a friend let me know they got the 500 points on their free spin. I'm guessing it's randomly, but more so that the probability is that you'll likely to get the lower rewards. Honestly, I'm hoping to win enough points for a free deck in the archives or win a free deck. I'd love the big prizes, but I know the odds of that are really really low like most lotteries.

Heads up on the Theory11 contest, but it's one free token EVERY 24 hours so it's not calendar day, but time based. It was posted on their forum.

I'm at about 6200 lifetime elite points. I'd like to get to the 10,000 elite member status. I'm good with the free points. I also want one of those ultimate bricks. I would have enjoyed having one of our members win it last year so we could see pictures. Most likely as you mentioned, each prize has a probability coded into the wheel.

I figured it was 24 hours after I tried taking spin #2 this morning. Good to know officially.

I won 100 elite points. I am hoping to claim my token for the next weekish and then cash them in for spins all on the same day if I can.
Do you guys even read this? Like I could have the meaning of life here and I doubt you would know it.

My second spin was 100 Elite Points. Now I'm wondering HOW or IF those points being WON are actually being added to my total. I'm also going to keep track of my total Elite Points each day I spin, just in-case there's a glitch (wink wink). This is too good to be true.

12/6 - 50 Elite Points
12/7 - 100 Elite Points (2367) 6,103 / 10k Lifetime Points

Prizes can NOT be redeemed without a prize confirmation code, provided via email after spinning the wheel. Any potential winner who does not claim their prize within thirty (30) calendar days of first notification will forfeit his or her prize. All winners are solely responsible for any and all taxes and/or fees, and all such additional costs that may be incurred. theory11 reserves the right to alter, nullify, or amend any contest rules or prizes at anytime.

All prizes must be verified with prize confirmation codes, and any entries found to be invalid will be disqualified. By participating in this contest, you affirm acknowledgement and agreement to these Official Rules, and theory11's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Has anyone received an email confirmation code?

@ John B.: Theory11 will be backlogged. They should get the email out within 24 hours to alleviate issues and customer support emails. The good thing is, we don't have to claim a prize we don't want.

@ Don: I think theory11 uses different accounts. Your main order account is not the same as your Elite points account and not the same as your forum sign in. Once signed into the main account, you have to sign in again to see your Elite points. Emailing confirmation codes to link prizes with your main account makes sense to me.

@ John B.: Let me know what the answer is. I'm sure Lyle or someone from theory11 is lurking. That might be a great customer support question.

Most contests of this type do not permit the transferring of prizes.

Well, I wasn't even logged in but still received my points.  It has to be linked to email addresses.  Two people can have the same name, but not the same email address unless they're sharing it.

I've order Riot from PM and other stuff from E this Black Friday. When I've got Riot they give me a Red Ltd, not the White one, like when was the first offer. I wasn't smart, I've been ordered only 12 Purple Ltd for a white one and not the Riot too.

Also, when the Blue Rounders was introduced by E, they got a better deal: 12 Browns + 1 Blue. Now you must take over 300$ to get one free Blue.

Did you get the activation code for the points?

What code?  I got an email confirmation.

Yea Don, Basically I got the same email everyone else is getting.

Hi (Your Name)
On behalf of our whole team at theory11, thank you for your support! With each order between 12/6 and New Year's Eve, you get one token with each item purchased. You can also get one FREE token per day, instantly, on the contest details page. Each token is ONE chance to spin the wheel to win many great prizes!
To enter in your tokens, simply click the link below. Your tokens will automagically show up, and you can use them to spin the holiday contest wheel for a chance to win one of many amazing prizes. Remember, each token is one chance to win. Good luck!

The email confirmed you spun and thanks us for support but there should be a confirmation code, provided via email so you can redeemed your prize. theory11 does not explain in detail how you redeem your prize. The reason I'm wondering is because I don't "notice" my Elite points going up (they might be). I'm keeping track. Otherwise we are not really winning anything. I will know by this afternoon. I the meantime, I'm hoping theory11 can edit the official contest rules to explain how or what to expect from the confirmation email to redeemed your prize.

12/6 - 50 Elite Points
12/7 - 100 Elite Points (2367) 6,103 / 10k Lifetime Points
12/8 - 50 Elite Points (2417) 6,153 / 10k Lifetime Points

Points ARE going UP! An average of 50 points a day (December 6th, 2013 until January 1st, 2014) = about 1,250 Free Elite Points (give or take).

I thought MJ said in the video that you get a token for each purchase? 12 items = 12 tokens...

I did email them about it and they responded with

"Hello!

For every purchase you make you will receive an email with a link to redeem the tokens from that order. If you place two orders, you will have two different emails with two different links, each having the tokens from that purchase. Find the email from the purchase, click through the link, and spin away!

Have a great week!"

Clearly didn't answer my question, so I asked them again and I've had no response...

This was just posted on the forums over at theory 11.   http://forums.theory11.com/showthread.php?40474-Holiday-Contest-Question

I purchased 9 decks; 3 Medallions, 3 Red Monarchs and 3 Silver Monarchs.

I received three spins. Got a bunch of elite points.
Could it be every item you purchase you receive a spin, regardless of quantity?

Every product you purchase on theory11 until January 1st gives you ONE token

I would read it as 1 token for each PRODUCT TYPE, I assume meaning if you bought 3 decks and each deck was different, you would get 3 tokens. Which would work out for your scenario atsquare

Well that is true, but even still, I'd still need over 2000 more points to grab anything from The Archive. I could cash in those points for $2 and change off an order, though. Free spins are always nice, as you said.

Well that is true, but even still, I'd still need over 2000 more points to grab anything from The Archive. I could cash in those points for $2 and change off an order, though. Free spins are always nice, as you said.

Getting something for free that's worth money is never going to be anything but nice!

I just spun and got 250 points.  The "wheel" spins a bit unevenly - it looked like it was going to stop on the 10,000-point wedge!

I know, right?

The second time I spun was infuriating. The wheel slowly crawled over 4 spaces, until it stopped just on the edge of "No Reward".

I'm pretty sure the program is set to where as the prize is already determined once you hit the button, the spinning wheel is just for effect. It probably has a set number of rotations before it zero's in on the prize you've won, then has to adjust to hit the right mark.........or, I could be completely wrong  :P

So, I decided to buy one of AP's personal stash bricks from TBC when they had them on sale, and the decks came in today. It was $40 plus shipping for the following:

2x Green Crown v1
1x Blue Crown v1
1x Red Crown v1
1x Expert at the Card Table
1x Mechanic
1x Red Bee Squeezers No.92
1x Erdnase 1902 Black Acorn
1x Fulton's Clip Joint
1x Black Altruism
1x Brimstone
1x Gold Arcane

I think I more than got my money's worth. Anyone else pick up any of the stash decks? I'm curious to see what others received.

Yeah the wheel is absolutely completely programed to stop 90 of 100 times at 50/100/250/no reward/spin again. In other words theory11 just want to give you a discount in form of points. By giving you points they force you to spent them  purchashing something. So thats gently way telling you hey come here and shop now, give us your money even if u dont want to, and you will want becouse u got free points to spent.. thats free discount right? Can't just past away. Look we even will give you 50/100 points FOR FREE every day... Which i am thankfull becouse if i am lucky enough and spin every day and receive 50 points every day for next 19 days i would be able to have free deck (6-8$) but i need to pay int shipping :/

I'm still pretty bitter about the checkout system not working, but I'm happy you got some nice deck. I'd say the best part is that you got a variety. Only one duplicate is awesome.

Anyone that ordered from Ellusionist during the Cyber Monday sale will get a free Sultan Treasury deck with their next purchase (expires January 15).  I'll take that as good enough for what was endured trying to grab that last gold arcane deck!

It starts: "First, we wanted to let you know that this is not an email sent to our entire list. We’ve sent this email to you because you ordered from us, and your order was affected by the perfect storm of events that occurred during our Cyber Monday sales."

So, YMMV.....

I just spun again today. It looked like it had good momentum but stopped on "no reward" again right before the Brown Wynn.

I've gotten 50 Elite points out of 5 spins. This isn't going well.

Just for the fun i suggest all who spin every day the wheel to announse it here 15min early or so and to start streaming/share their desktop  so people can join and enjoy their luck or unluck. Popular streaming sites are livestream and twitch...
If someone can make bigger thread so everybody to do it..
I just did it today with 3 friends watching and was a lot of fun becouse it was lagging little bit and wheel stoped and then continue again and we all got laughs etc.

The top one looks like a Fulton's Clip Joint deck in a new color.  I have no idea about the other one.

It's not impossible that Dan and Dave are having a little fun with us by using deck mockups.  It's also possible that we'll be seeing lilac Clip Joints.

Got some email from Kardwell.com about a Bargain Basement sale.

Checked it out.  Meh.

Of all the playing cards in the sale, only one product isn't a set of plastic decks from Modiano, Kem or Copag - a two-deck set of Coca-Cola Santa cards from USPC.  On the plus side, they appear to have been made in 1995...  And if you're into the plastic decks, the models on sale are either close to or just over half-off.

Ellusionist is giving 10% off for Black Club on gift cards.
So although you won't get further discount when using gift cards...you basically get a 10% off on future purchases already when using it cause you bought it cheaper. Make Sense? No? ???

An email from coterie1902

"Gold Seal Coterie Bee now available!

Happy New Year! Here we go for the first surprise in 2014 from us.
We designed the Coterie Bee Gold Edition in year 2011 with its color variations and themes, the original Gold Edition was considered by many as the most elegant Bee playing cards ever conceived.

900 decks out of the initial 5200 decks run were sealed and reserved for Artiste and higher classes members of Coterie of Prestidigitation Artists.

After Coterie Bee Gold Edition was sold out, we planned to proceed with new edition of Coterie Bee. However, after over a year of correspondence and negotiation, USPCC informed us that they will not print Coterie Bee anymore nevertheless.

We had to discontinue the Coterie Bee series and subsequently decided to abandon the Gold Seal Coterie Bee playing cards as part of the Artiste membership package.

Only 650 decks of Gold Seal Coterie Bee playing cards will now be made available for purchase, after they were gone, the remaining stock will become part of our special promotion offer.

Get them now!

They made only one print run of this deck, so yes, they're the same.  Of 5200 decks, 900 were gold-sealed - originally they were supposed to all be gold-sealed, but USPC ran out of gold seals.  The gold-sealed decks were at one point being held back just for members of the Coterie to be used as a sort of club ID card, but when the collecting public learned of them, they demanded to have some and a number of them were released for sale - but with Zenneth Kok's signature on them.  Prior to this offer, very few unsigned decks existed outside of the hands of the Coterie.  The tucks and cards of all 5200 decks are identical, only the seals and signatures are different.

Ah okay, I've got one of the decks without the seal, I see what you are talking about in the pictures. How many were signed?

About 250 were signed with the cellophane removed on the signature area of the back by Zenneth Kok.  The ones selling now are unsigned and probably still cello-wrapped.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Dan and Dave have a little teaser/promo thing saying that something was coming out on Christmas Day? I don't recall seeing anything.

They left teasers, but I don't think they had dates on them.  I was assuming it would be New Year's Day, since they've had NYD releases in the past.

Well - what, if anything, did they release, 'cause it certainly wasn't a deck...?
