Haha, they look pretty fun. But I don't think I'll be picking up a deck, unfortunately. I prefer to collect only USPCC decks.

Thanks again phantom! Now this deck on the other hand is a lot better than the previous one. The theme reminds me of the JC decks, but the only thing I don't like about this deck is the rewards, all you get are decks and decals. No signed decks, uncut sheet, art prints, ect.

HAHA that's pretty funny. I'm a big fan of the color design!! I won't be getting this deck, but it's a pretty cool little design.

Ans Kpop, this company isn't targeting this market of collectors so I don't know why they would go to all the extra work to make uncuts and art prints. Although those would be pretty funny

Thats really neat! I like it! But the back design kills it! And its $10 for a deck  :-\
And since theres so many more "nicer" decks coming out, I think I'll pass. But I do like the design!

The Kickstart is weird on this one - if the number of decks ordered exceeds the initial 75, they'll order extra print runs, but only if they reach a new multiple of the initial goal.  If you're caught in the middle of a multiple when the Kickstart closes, no deck, and "maybe" an alternate reward.  To that, I say, "WTF???"  Is that even permitted under the KS TOS?

Plus they look exceptionally cheap and bridge sized.  And why are the red suits green?  In an Eco deck or some Bicycle color-scheme deck, fine, but just for gits and shiggles?  I say again, why?

Cute idea, not very well executed.

Pass.

I think it is a neat idea but it is an ugly back and I dont think they know what they are doing.

This is a fun, funny, promotional deck. They have no intention to make a collectors item or a great deck of cards haha.

Yes i know that. although it is an interesting deck i will say judging by what they say on KS it doesnt sound like they know too much about how to run a kickstarter. they say they are making 75 decks but if they raise enough they will print more. It would suck to be in a halfway between prints area. and how will they judge who is in for the decks and who is just donating. Although the App they designed looks kind of interesting

KPop, I really hate to do this again...

You are NOT guaranteed of getting a deck, DESPITE the fact that they hit their goal.  In fact, the last-minute backers stand a GREATER chance of NOT getting a deck.

Read this little disclaimer from the Kickstarter page for this project:
-

-
*Important Printing and REWARD Info
Because of the bulk requirements for printing the cards, we will only be able to send out 75 decks of cards to all of you lovely people. However, if we can double our current funding goal of $1,200, we will have enough to send another order to the printer. The second order would be for a total of 105 decks (the three of us will get our decks out of the first order and not need any more). So it would work like this:

•First 75 decks are distributed to their backers.
•After that, until we double our funding goal (which is more than possible!), all donations are in good faith that we can double the original funding goal in order to place another printing order.
•Upon doubling the original funding, 105 more decks will be printed and made available to those who make their donations after the first 75 decks have been snatched up by other Kickstarters.
•From here the process starts over once again, following the same model as before. And of course, if you have any questions, please send us a message and we will get back to you asap!
*If we do not make enough to print a second or third or fourth order and so forth, we unfortunately cannot provide you with your chosen donation reward package, but know that your donation was appreciated times infinity and that we will come up with something to show you our undying thanks and gratitude!*

Oh Sorry. In the earlier quote, I was exaggerating a bit. It's like the board game that says you'll have "hours of family fun," when we all know it lasts for only half an hour. Back on subject, well, it's not completely guaranteed that you'll get a deck, but at least the first few backers will. The rest will be "donated" to the company in return for good karma, I guess.  At least this project was one of the handfuls that actually made it through.

That has a lot to do with it being a novelty item, somewhat humorous and SUPER CHEAP.  It has to be the cheapest playing card project on Kickstarter ever.

With 64 backers and $1,225, I have calculated that 82 decks have been pledged.

If the pledge level does not reach $2,400 in the next 11 days, any new backer will not get a deck.

There are currently 7 decks worth of backers who pledged and is not getting any decks (not sure of the number of backers since you can pledge for 1 to 3 decks)

Though I am unsure whether things will change since I cannot read their KS updates which is backer-only. (I hate KS projects that only have backer-only updates, any new updates may entice me to pledge for a KS project so making the updates backer-only is dumb)

Bridge sized.

Um, for the number of BACKERS there's NOTHING to calculate.  Load the page, see the number of backers.  Simple.  It's the number of decks he's trying to calculate.  63, 64, doesn't matter - if the deck doesn't hit a second multiple of the original goal, anyone who pledged after the initial goal will NOT get a deck.  I honestly feel this project was set up in a somewhat deceptive manner since it's easy to be mistaken about receiving a deck if you aren't careful about reading everything beyond just the rewards.

OH! I forgot you can do that - HAHA! With the term "calculated" I actually thought he added them up...like I did. :( 5 minutes of my life wasted :( I added them up though, and it still came out to be 63. Does the creator count as a backer?

Anyways, I totally agree with you on the deceptiveness of this project. I've never seen anything like it.

The reason why the number of backers you have "calculated" from the reward tiers did not add up to the total number of backers for the project is because one of the backers might have pledged for $1 to $9 to the project.

Hence it was a monetary donation with no reward expected. As such this "missing" backer will not appear in any of the reward tier backer figures.

And yes, most probably this backer is the creator who would have pledged $1 in order to get the project started.

Anyway, the reason why I did the calculation was to warn the members here not to pledge to this project if his/her goal is to get the Typestache deck. The only way to get the deck/s now is to pledge $1,175  ::)

For those of you who missed out on the Typestache, here's a typographic deck that's fairly unique - for each card value, it uses the letter or number of that value to form the shape of the suit in the middle of the card.

The video and the shop page are both accessible from the first page.  Designboom has a LOT of cool items listed, many of them for sale, some of which being reasonably priced.  Poke around that site, you'll have some fun with it.

I'd be interested in that uncut sheet!  That's a sheet that would look mighty cool hanging on a wall...

Hey, here's a freebie worth printing!
