As some of you may know, the Eco Prototype clips were supposed to be numbered and they came to me without numbers.  Some of you have suggested that I sign and number them on the inside of the clip.  I would like to put it up to a vote.  If you would like me to sign and number them, cast your vote and the majority will take the decision.

Sign them! They are prototypes. The signatures will help us remember and easily know what they are!

Although I didn't get the chance to purchase a clip, (so I don't know if what I say matters) but if I did purchase one, I would prefer it hand signed and numbered.

I think numbering them would be nice, though I'm not sure how many buyers actually care much about it.
Signing it would definitely be nice though.

I don't know about anyone else who bought them... but I definitely want it signed and numbered! That adds to the rarity of it.
And your first product should be special! Also, its not like there are a ton of them, so it should be pretty fast to sign and number them all.

So far, unanimity for signatures and numbering!
I just wanted to say that I don't want my opinion to have too big of an impact since I didn't actually order one myself. :'(

I prefer the signature and hand-numbering on the inside of the spine.  Many artists hand-number their art prints and such, so it would be fitting.

Thanks for all the input guys.  I think its clear that the choice has been made.  I will hand sign and number all the clips.  It wont be on the inside of the spine though I do agree its the perfect place.  Its a very small space to try and reach for a signature.  I will do my best though :)

Looks fine from here.  I would have preferred somehow getting it on the inside of the spine, since that part of the clip receives the least friction.  If you do sign it there, find a way if possible to protect/coat the signature and number so they don't wear off.  Also, most artists when numbering a piece as part of a series will use a slash rather than a dash as in "3/20", but that's as much as personal choice as anything else.  Sometimes the first number is written like a superscript and the second like a subscript.

I think thats a good place for it. It's not overly noticeable but I will be able to easily see it. I am just worried that it may rub off after a while from putting decks in and out of the clip. I like Dons idea of putting some sort of coating over it so that it doesn't rub off.

I used a fine Sharpie pen so the ink wont rub off unless you use it A LOT!!!

Actually, you'd be surprised at how much friction can take place between the box and the inner walls of the clip.  The prototypes are meant for serious use, not as museum pieces - you want us to test them, right?  It's why I suggested the inside of the spine as a good place to mark the clips.  Not easy, I know, but it is the one interior surface that receives the least wear and tear.

If you sign it where you have, just get some over-the-counter clear lacquer from a hardware store, take a brushstroke or two over your autograph and number, and let dry.  A thin layer is just fine and helps to at least let the Sharpie marks last longer if not forever.
