Hey Gang, so http://www.conjuringcreations.com is now Live :)

I've been down and out lately but I'm here to deliver a nice update to Aether as most of the Eco Clip sales have taken place here.  Production has taken longer than expected.  Tough that sounds bad, its a very good thing.  The wood shop has been working with the clips design inorder to find the perfect thickness to insure durability.  We've finally setteled on all the specs and will be getting one more test piece in this coming week to finalise things.  If all goes well then official production will begin the following monday Feb. 6th and will take about 3 weeks.  That sounds like a long time but were producing both the Eco Prototype and the Tendril Signature Clips all in the same run.  Were also have some prototypes made of a future clip  ;D

I apreciate everyones patients and support throught this very long and tedious process.  Feel free to check out the site and support us on our various social networks.  A small note, we will not be creating a fourm on our site as we do not wish to draw away from aether or other popular sites where strong communitites reside.  We will be hosting some nice live chat sessions in the near future to share some of the production items so we will update you on that.   Thanks

We have a very long schedule of releases planned but our next one is on Encarded's Kickstarter.  After that you can expect a new release on our site as well as alot of other things.

Very soon, but that slow-poke USPCC needs to get me my prototype deck first. Hopefully that will be next week, at which point the Kickstarter will be close behind it. :)

So the site is up, were waiting on this last test piece to see if we can finally launch official production on the 6th.  I would like to sit back and have a little fun.  Many of you purchased one of the two clips that we have recently made but none of you have clip Zero

You see when we first launched the sale of the eco prototypes we sold 20 clips and they are all going to be clear and natural finishes.  1-20 are sold and will go out to there happy owners.  What no one knew is that a clip Zero was made so its really 0-20.  Clip zero will feature the Eco Prototype art but it will have one very special quality that none of the others do, it will have color.  I've decided rather than keeping it all to my self I'd rather give it away.  So on to the juicy details... How do you win Clip Zero?

CLIP ZERO
*Like our Face Book

WOW thats easy   :)

Thats it... but we wont announce the winner until we get 100 Likes.  This will be the only colored Eco Prototype ever, I wont even make one for myself.  So if you want it then Like our face book and spread the word so we can get to 100 Likes.  To like our face book simply go to http://www.conjuringcreations.com and click our like button on the home page.

Enjoy

The first two things that came to my mind was that it looks awesome and that the spine looks a but thick. Maybe if the spine was a tiny bit smaller and the deck was able to be pushed in a tiny but farther, I would probably like it better. But all in all, it looks great and I can't wait to receive mine!

Yeah the spine is a little thick, but I don't mind it too much. I'm guessing it's needed because of the material used for the clip.

Understand that if we made the spine thinner, it would probably make less durable, due to less surface area for the glue to joint the three pieces together. It's functionality vs. appearance for most of you. In my opinion (though it may be biased), I think it looks very good with the thick spine.

Thanks for the feedback,

Thanks so much for all the feed back not only here but on our YouTube as well.  The thick spine is very important much like the curve in the porper.  It allows for the presssure to hold your deck.  Joe porper manipulated steel to create its beautiful physics and we have done the same with this material.  It's not just for looks, it does the job too.

Yeah that was what I was thinking when I saw the spine!! I think it still looks great  8)

Since you asked for it here's the feedback that I have after watching the video... Firstly, it looks incredible!! By far my favorite clip looks wise. I really like the horizontal wood paneling more than the vertical style. The spine looks fine, I actually think it looks good! I would keep that to maintain durability over looks. It may look better but I would rather have a clip that lasts longer and isn't as prone to breaking.  Overall I'm super happy with how it looks!! Nice work guys!

They only made and sold 20 of the Eco Clip Prototypes but once those get to the people who bought them, they will probably make more and they won't be prototype clips.

  • Card for me maybe?
Haha okay, firstly your video is the first one that interests me, might be because I've never seen an eco clip before.. okay now for my opinions on the deck.. it does look really nice, including the thicker spine but I feel that it's more for displaying (Yet keeping the cards straight) rather than for carrying around due to it's bulkiness (and probably weight? I dk). colour  doesn't seem to suit some deck in my opinion but then somehow it stills looks nice, maybe for simpler tuck boxes like the S&Ms because of it's simplicity against the wooden 'background' not most decks have a cluttered up design sooo, yeah. harder to match with brown too. still, can't wait to see the final version with the designs and all, post pictures!!

Bamboo is a light wood, but Rob you should clarify for us, is this heavier or lighter than a Porper? I think it's size isn't an issue since we carry bigger wallets and phones in our pockets, but the weight is a huge concern for me with any pocket-product. It's the difference between looking sleek and suave in a pair of jeans, or dopey and weird.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

  • Facebook:
I think the clip looks great.  The thick spine threw me off a little since the computer graphic showed a thinner one, but it makes sense to need that thicker spine, especially since it's glue holding the piece together.  Without it, the clip would look flimsy.

I think it would look good with vertical stripes - they're very slimming!  :))  But I'm betting that the horizontal stripes function better and make the sides stronger and more durable.  Sure, one wants it to look good, but if it doesn't work well and last long, looks don't add up to much.

Consider making different spine widths.  Some decks are thicker, some thinner, depending on the precise stock used.  You won't be able to make this into a "one size fits all" thing.

Did you ever see De'vo's wooden clip?  It was actually enclosed not at the spine, but at the top and bottom - it's like a box with the long sides left open.  Something similar might make a nice alternative design down the road when you get these things selling far and wide.  If you opened the short top and bottom sides instead, it would function as near-impervious protection against deck damage!

Our Eco Clip is Lighter than the Porper Clip.  Also I would like to take a moment to really explain the importance of the thick spine.  Its what make the clip work vs just being another pretty cover guard.  Now I admit in the beginning I though all this was going to be was a pretty cover guard but that's just not the case any more.  The spine creates tension over the deck and it's awesome.  The best thing I could say is you'd just have to have one and try it.  No worries to those of you who have missed all the chances so far.  Were working with Alex to hit you with another round of awesomeness and were preparing our own clip still.  At the moment were very tied down because were going to be at Magic Con this year and were trying to plan out some awesome giveaways and offer people a chance to try it out for them selves.  So were going to be very busy planning that.  Don't expect a official Conjuring Creations clip until you see an Aether Clip.

Thanks

I had a great thing happen to me yesterday.  My Transducer Fire buckled on me yesterday.  I hate when this happens to my cards but it was a great opportunity to really see if the clip was just a guard or if it would do the same job as the Porper clip.  I was happy to find that after a day in the clip, the deck was returned back to its natural state.

Thanks

Hey! That's some good news! After all, I did get a good deal on those teal and black clips!

Thats great news! I wasn't expecting it to work like a porper but I'm very happy to hear that it does. AND the Eco clips are less expensive than a porper.

The blog is great Brandon! I can't believe in only a few months you have branched out so far. I can't wait to see how the Aether clips look like, as I might be buying some. Also, how is it going on your sponsorships? Have you guys selected your sponsors yet?

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

I can't wait to receive mine, I know it will be amazing.
Could you post pics of a black box in the clip?

I'm not a big clip fan, but I can tell you that you might want to consider taking the pics from the website down that show how nice the clip will look (the prototype pics)... Because when I look at the images vs. the actual clip itself, the initial pics look clean with a nice minimalist feel and the final product looks really bulky and unfinished... I think the initial pics show the consumer what could have been vs. what the reality is and I don't think it will help your business... However, good luck with your endeavor...

Jmrock, we appreciate the your criticism and we want to thank you for posting your thoughts. I understand where you are coming from. However, please keep in mind that the animations were created before we even knew what they were actually going to look like. The sole purpose for them was to give consumers and prospects just an idea or concept of what they will look like. Now that we know, we will make changes for future animations. You have a valid point and we want to thank you for your input. Take care!

Thanks,

Brandon Beckman

I love the clips they have an elegance about them!  I spoke with Robert today at Conjuring Creations and will most likely be getting some custom made to offer with my SPECTRUM deck.  Nice product I wish them all the best with the business, I think we'll be seeing these guys grow quickly!  My initial feeling is that they're very professional and passionate about what they do.

Expect to see some clips up on the kickstarter Spectrum Deck soon, we're looking into some special gradient coloring on the clips to go with the deck.

I think the AC clip will be around April with the Harlequin deck, but I could be wrong.

Hey guys, the Spectrum Clip is currently in the planning phase but we work fast.  I'm sure it will be available in mid stride to the Kickstarter.

LOL, I appreciate your enthusiasm.  Yes were focusing on a different mission than most.  I learned enough while studying cards alongside some good guys that it’s not a good market to enter right now.  Unless you have some seriously amazing art.  We have a mission to create all the amazing accessories that we never had.  My philosophy is that, everyone enjoys a nice deck, why should the clips be any different

Master yoda has spoken :D
Or you can be like D&D and just release tons of OK decks and tons of hype and make tons of dinero. That's the easy solution, and I find it very bothersome.

Yeah, its understandable, I wished at one point that they would try something different but they seem to be loosing there charm.  But in a very relitive way, were trying to create the nice crisp image too.

You've really created an attractive product with that clip.  Now, the wood-grain lacquered model will be for sale down the road by Encarded?  It's not the same as the two colored clips offered in the Kickstarter.

If the price of these clips can be kept low enough, I could envision people buying custom clips for a lot of their playing cards as sort of an add-on purchase.

Conjuring Creations posted this on Facebook, "Due to high demand, we will be launching a special release this Monday. 50 Clear Lacquer finished Tendril Clips will be available on the Encarded Kickstarter Project. We understand that most of you can't hit the 70-100$ pledge for some of these clips so it will be a small pledge that includes 1 Tendril deck and 1 Clip. We don’t want to break your bank, we just want you to have the chance to own a clip. More details to will be revealed Sunday night on our site so be sure to follow up with us so you don’t miss out."

It's pretty cool that they are doing that though. I probably won't get one but I'm stoked to see the Tendril deck in my prototype clip.

The clips do look nice, but I think that three colors for a single limited-run deck is a little much.  Small quantities are the one saving grace, but there will be people pining over how they couldn't get all three because they simply didn't have that much cash to spread around.

Robert, what will the MSRP on these clips be when they hit retail?  Not just custom clips, but the plain ones without customization?

Hey Don, I understand your point of view and in most cases I would agree with you 100%.  However, we only decided to add 50 more clips at a small reward level because there are a lot of people asking how they can get a clip.  We dont currently have any available on the site and we dont plan to until April.  Thats a long time so I wanted to offer up one more chance to grab one if you want one.

The MSRP is not yet announced and wont be until the April sell.  I will let you know were only offering a basic clip in April but will be expanding the line into the summer.

Thanks

Hey Everyone!  All has been quiet in the last week or so but i've come to give you an awes0ome update.  The Eco Prototype clips are finished.  They were packaged yesterday and shipped off to me.  I will take a few pictures for everyone and then start shipping them off late next week.

Cheers.

Those pics took me by surprise because I was expecting them to not have any designs. Either way, I can't wait to receive mine!

I see limited-edition prototypes, but where are the serial numbers?

BTW: they're pretty sharp-looking.  I'm glad I got a prototype set!

Those are pretty damn good looking :)!
People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

Oh my! They look amazing! I like the laquer ones 1000% more but they both look nice.
Those pics took me by surprise because I was expecting them to not have any designs. Either way, I can't wait to receive mine!

I wasn't expecting a design either, but it still looks dope!! Can't wait to get mine :)

Are you going to be releasing a ecoclip with no design on it in the future?

Thanks, and yes we will be creating a clip that has no design but only has the conjuring creaitons art on the spine.  The numbering on the clips were not done by the shop and that was a mes up on there part.  I apoligize for that.

Are there plans to correct this before the clip is released, or will you ship them as they are, unnumbered?

As a last resort - and something interesting - you could write in fine-point Sharpie pen the serial number on the inside spine at one end, and give it your initials at the other for authenticity.  The inside of the spine is the surface on the clip that will receive the least amount of wear and tear or contact friction with other objects.  Unless someone opts to wash their clip, the ink should remain in place for the life of the clip.

Wouldn't the side of the deck rub against that though? Maybe I'm a little confused but I would imagine that the deck would rub against that and it would wear off.

@Don Boyer Yes, we have made plans to correct this issue. It was a mistake by our manufacturer, but we greatly apologize. We may have to fix the issue ourselves or have the manufacturer solve it, we haven't came to that conclusion as of yet.

@brown_baggs Yes, but not nearly as much as the wear on the outside. As far as we are concerned, that would be the best place to include it. Though, writing it down is surely going to be taken into consideration, however, there maybe other ways to go about this.

We need updated photos for those clips for sale on the site.  You're still displaying prototypes and not the actual product that's for sale.  If you leave those up, you'll end up with buyers thinking they're getting prototypes, and they'll get pretty vocal when they don't get prototypes.
