As you post more, your rank goes up, that much is obvious. However, when your rank bar fills up, you earn yourself a gold star and begin ranking up once more. Instead of the previous 13 ranks, there are now 25. Now instead of going up to 10,000, they go up to 100,000. Furthermore, many ranks have become easier to obtain while others have become harder.

Here is a summary of each tier:

Posts 0-1 = Tier 1, no rank or progress bar
Posts 2-189 = Tier 2, no stars, black progress bar
Posts 190-749 = Tier 3, one star, navy progress bar
Posts 750-1499 = Tier 4, two stars, blue progress bar
Posts 1500-4999 = Tier 5, three stars, red progress bar
Posts 5000-24999 = Tier 6, four stars, platinum progress bar
Posts 25000-99999 = Tier 7, five stars, demonic progress bar

I'm on V2 and I have to say I'm really excited about it, much more than I thought I would be.  The main reason is that the core functionality of everything I want to do has not changed at all, so everything is natural and easy.  Oh, and that notification thing that wasn't working a while back?  Works great now!

Sounds a little like facebook , well, that's my guess    I'm really excited about the discourse v2!!! can't wait to see the new designs and format!!!

Hold your horses, Tex.  You'll be on it soon enough.  With the amount of posts you make, Alex may tap you before the premiere like he did for me.  He picks people sweepstakes-style, each non-Lolaq post being an entry.  Just don't flood the boards with meaningless or "me too" posts.
