Your signature will be about a centimeter big, theres no way anyone will be able to read it well let alone track you down, steal your credit card, and then use that signature. Don't worry bout it  ;) ;)

Ahh I see, understood!
One more thing to add, I had sent you my signature already, let me you if you didn't receive it. Thanks :)

just one question here. If we would to produce the cards with the AOS having our signature, wouldn't it be possible for person to scan the AOS into the computer and use our signatures? (I had never use debit/credit card before so... I'm not sure about how it works, sorry if I'm asking a noob question)

OK, it seems that the Eights are not claimed at the moment, so I'll take a stab at those. :)

Is there one spot we can see all the current cards? I checked through and didn't see any obvious location yet. I'd like to get a feel for what folks have done so far...

you can see them in Krystle's blog, but it's locked by her. You will gotta ask her for the password!

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Shops that sells cards in Beijing

Krystle may answer you :P

This is a very funny question!! Just like what I see on UC, many Singaporean sell items there and note "SG only".

slyS, don't you know there are many playing card forums in China?

I didn't try the card forums in China because my chinese isn't really that good. Besides, I think that people who post selling cards thread in those forums will most probably be individuals like what you saw on UC, and since I'm not a local over there, I will prefer buying from actual stores instead.

Do you use taobao? Most of the times cards on there are cheaper than actual stores.

There're a few good ones, I haven't been to them myself, but from what I've heard they're not too bad.

This is probably the one that I'll recommend if you have to go to an actual store.

plus its a great opportunity to write a great blog post about it and yeah!

Wow that's great! I'm leaving for Beijing on 4th March and staying there for 4 weeks before leaving for Guangzhou. However, my purpose for going Beijing isn't for vacation but my school's internship to the P&W company, which means I can only meet you on my weekends :( :( :(

I will see how things goes about. Sorry for being off topic again!

Very nice designs SlyS

I think you should make the third heard visible though. When someone is looking at the deck they won`t know that it is supposed to be a failed parachute. But if you want to keep it that way that is cool. :)

hmm I will think about it, thanks for pointing that out! :)

@Nathan - I will most probably be inactive in the coming few weeks, have my exams this coming mon and wed and next I will have to prepare for my 6 weeks trip to china(not sure if this website will be block or not over there). I feel that there's a need to tell you this since you're the leader for this project. I will try to rush my work when I come back from china. Please don't kick me from this project :( haha just joking!

On a side note, anyone can recommend any shops in Beijing that sells playing cards at good prices? Sorry for being off topic here!

thanks for the compliments!

I really like those threes! Just wondering, where is the third heart on the three of hearts? Are you going to want them to be 2-way or 1 way?

well the 'third heart' or the third parachute, I thought of making it to appear as if the device is spoilt and that's why the person is screaming 'ahahahah' . Hope you get what I meant  :) .  I thought of making them to be 1-way design, is it alright?

10
ahh I see, thanks Nathan! Okay so here are my rough sketches for the three of spades, hearts and diamonds.

Well as an aeronautical student, I decided to link them with planes. So let me know what you guys think about it!

thanks!

Thanks for letting me be part of this team! Well, while waiting for nathan's reply, I actually did some rough sketching of my concept of the threes.

Hmm how do I post my picture here? Seems like I cannot use the attachment below because it's too small for my files...

Hi

May I know if there is anyone doing the artwork for the threes?

I have no knowledge in photoshop but I do wish to help out too. So if you all won't mind then may I do the job for the threes if it's available?

13
Well, I do know that the card designs are mostly being done by value, hence that's why I'm asking if the person in-charge of all the sixes will mind letting me do just the 6 of clubs. I apologise then for phrasing my request wrongly.

As for the back design, I guess my idea is flawed, thanks for pointing that out. Regarding the read-whole-word-up-side-down design that you commented, my first thought was, did the artist for runit deck thought the same too? that once the concept had been used, it cannot be reused again? If enigma can be the first, runit can be the second, why can't we be the third? IMO what matter most is how you are going to use the same concept yet be able to produce something different.

Also I guess your last paragraph must be referring to the signature on the card itself (since that's the only part I used the word 'should'). Well I just feel that people should know who is the artist that designed/draw that artwork unless you are telling me that the ad card will be stating clearly 'who and who did which value, etc'.

Well, as I had said from the start and end of my post, these are just my two cents regarding the deck and your comment is well appreciated. I do know the direction you guys are heading, however, I think that my suggestions aren't off the track yet and I thought that feedback, suggestions and opinion are allowed. Of course if you guys think otherwise, I hereby apologise for posting and wasting your time reading them. Good luck.

Hi everyone! I am new to this forum. I happened to come across this thread by chance and I think that this is a wonderful idea!

After reading every posts, here are my thoughts for the deck...

AoS:

Instead of using everyone's name or signature, I suggest that we could design the word 'discourse' to fit into the shape of the spade.

Cards:

As for the cards, I do support Sabacc's suggestion of adding the artist's signature or anything that represents the artist to the card that he/she designed. I think that this is their artwork and we should acknowledged them for their efforts.

Back:

IF its possible, I think that we could follow the idea of having a thin border and the word 'discourse' written diagonally down. However, on top of that, I suggest that we design it in such a way that when we do our fans, the word 'discourse' will link and seems to 'run' from the first to the last card of the fan. In addition, we can design the word 'discourse' to be readable in two directions  in the middle like the ones seen in the enigma deck and make the diagonal pattern appears to fade slowly as it approaches an area of 'white space' surrounding the middle word to make the latter look more outstanding.

Well these are just my thoughts for this deck, feasible or not will be another question though, Most importantly, I hope everyone will understand what I meant and be able to visualise it. Since this will be the very first deck designed and planned by the members of the discourse forum, I think that it will be nice to have some important signatures of a deck like that AoS and back design to revolve around the word 'discourse'. Feel free to leave your comments!

Also, I will like to know if I can design the 6 of clubs, Thanks!
