So here's what I have, it was produced by Haim Goldenberg (Expert Decks), they handle very well, it definitely has the Taiwan plant feel and "Smell". They have the smooth feel and imprint of the Master Finish. I would still put my money on it coming from the Taiwan plant.

Note: The tuck is a smooth white paper, the "Book Look" is printed on, its not embossed.

So Brendan has something special coming up for this project soon, and I have the honor of getting a first hand look at the prototype deck for Dynasty, and it's beautiful..........the Limited Edition should be stunning. So if your on the fence, I hope this helps.

My father passed away yesterday morning and now another good man is taken from this earth. My deepest condolences Judy to you and your family, you'll be in our thoughts and prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Dawson's.

Here are a couple of images, things like this made me crazy when I 1st started collecting. But it's always good to know the details when it comes to variants.
  • The Original's seal seems much crisper as opposed to the "Fuzzy" reprinted version
  • The reprint's seal also has a different color to it, a bit pinkish/red
  • The reprints tuck seems to me more black than the original tuck paper used OR the fact there was no cello on the original may have effected the tint of the paper.

Hope this helps :)

Mike and Steve did fulfillment for Aquila and will be taking care of Viridian soon. We had a great experience with our first time project, everything was organized, there was great communication and the entire project shipped in amazing time. I think what we appreciated most was being kept up to date with how things were being shipped, what got shipped and what to expect as we went through the process. They even did a great job taking care of the few damaged packages..........and I mean few, if I remember correctly there were 4 out of the almost 600 backers. There are other options for fulfillment, but I would highly recommend contacting CPC/CroudFulfillment to discuss your next projects fulfillment needs. Professional, courteous, and really good people to work with.

People always go out of there way to talk about bad experiences, I think it's important to also take the time to share the positive ones as well.

They are indeed very sturdy  :)

I thought I would offer up a little insight to the discussion.

The "Private Reserve" was separate from the Labeled 1000 decks
The Private Reserve, if memory serves was a very small run, in the hundreds.

Also, the Branded Black Reserve Note and the Unbranded do not have the same cards in them.........The Unbranded has the Black Backs, while the Branded has the same deck as the Reserve Note.

As for Value, I think we as individuals need to set that determination based on what we feel about a deck. Personally, the perceived value of a deck is the last thing I would look at when wanting to add something to my collection, and that means passing sometimes............ie, as a collector a JNugg should be in my collection, but I can't justify the price...........my opinion of course ;)

43
I'm still working on my vintage knowledge and feeling comfortable with my appraisal of my possible purchases, The Blue deck is still sealed, and the red is in really nice condition, the box is a little worn, but couldn't be happier, been wanting these for a while :)

Introduce Yourself / Re: Just Discovered "Decks"

Welcome to the "Club" Rafa...........there's a big, big world of playing cards out there. But you've found a good place for guidance and conversation to help you build your collection. Like Don said, it's all a personal thing, pick up what appeals to you, don't be swayed to much by what others say.......it is after all, your collection. But, I would take the time to hear out the opinions posted here, sometimes you have the "1st look infatuation" with a deck, but as information becomes available, the "Shine" wears off a bit.

Enjoy, keep it fun and you'll have fun. :)

47
Fair enough Don, I'll go with your endorsement :)

............PM on it's way

Just a quick question, how used is "Used" ?
