This is my story.
A few years ago for Christmas, as a stocking-stuffer, I got a red Bicycle Jumbo-Index deck. I used it so much, and practically destroyed the box. After that I decided to look up cool decks of cards that lasted a while, looked cool, and that people liked. I got on BMPOKERWORLD and was amazed at all the different types of cards, but figured that no one collected cards. I looked up playing card collecting and didn't find much. Then one day I stumbled along Ellusionist. PEOPLE WERE TALKING ABOUT COLLECTING CARDS! It was so cool. Then once I found out about "Playing Card Selling and Trading, my whole life changed (Well Kinda).

Also, I think it's worth mentioning that a few years ago I called my brother an idiot, for paying like $7 for a deck of cards that looked cool. Look how the tides have turned.

When I got into magic I just had a pretty crappy deck so I look for a better one. I saw that everyone is using the same cards so I looked where I could get them. I found an online magicstore and I was surprised how many different decks they got so I ordered a lot of them for christmas, after that I found so many other decks and I can't stop buying them ;)

I started buying cool looking deck few years ago. But I didn't care any about the rare deck or limited deck.
But since I got the red artifice, I started to trade for other rare decks, and that's is my beginning of the collection.

I think I don't even have a real "rare" deck, the best ones I have are the S&M v5 and maybe the Propaganda deck (can't find it anywhere online)

Well, my true collecting didn't start until about a year and a half ago. Up until then I just had a few ok decks. But then I got on E and saw some cool looking decks I thought would impress my buddies at our next poker game...then started the entire collecting thing
Magical as Sin!

The bicycle fashion decks at target got me interested in different kinds of cards! Then alex and this other reviewer, cardsrfun, pretty much fueled it even more!

Batman.... No, seriously. Before he became the Joker Nicholsons character Jack Napier had a lucky deck he'd take the top card of the deck and with one hand roll it around the deck untill it was back on top. I decided I had to learn that! 23 years later and I stumble accross Ellusionist and the rest is History!

I'm not a collector, but I can appreciate classy design of things. One of my recent purchases was a Sherlock Holmes Leatherback Classic book from Barnes and Noble. Vortex Deck has that appeal to me.

Has anyone seen the deck of cards that came with some collectors set of Fallout 3? Very cool.

Mix n' Match style.
