Hi all,

Not been on here for a long time, but glad to see this community is still thriving. I collected cards for a couple of years but have now sold most of my collection.

While going through some old cupboards I came across a poster tube with the beautiful Fantastique uncut sheet inside, the last of my collection!

I've put it up for eBay auction at 99p, with the appropriate delivery costs for international. I'm posting here in the off chance that someone is in search of this for their collection!

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fantastique-Deck-Uncut-Sheet-Signed-Dan-and-Dave-Rare/253536122244

Maybe one day I'll get back to playing card collecting, but it was just too saturated with custom decks back in 2012 when I stopped!

2
There's around 3-4 hours left for all the auctions. Still plenty of bargains to be had. A few of the decks don't have any bids yet including JAQK deck v2 T11 and Ellusionist Red LTD deck. These are around starting price of $27 dollars including international shipping - quite cheap for those of you abroad, but a bargain for those of you in UK and EU as shipping less.

There's also 16 mixed decks currently at $39 - $2.5 per deck including Robocycle deck, Samurai, and Revision.

The Anything is Possible Bottle with T11 Monarch Deck inside is currently selling for the same price as these pieces of art with regular Bicycle standard deck.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know!

Bump with update - all decks now for sale on eBay as acutions. Very cheap starting bids for all as I need to get rid of the decks and there wasn't much interest from original post.

4
Linguist_, forum rules require that you list a least an asking price for anything you're selling.  You have no prices listed.  I understand you've been out of touch, many of the decks aren't very rare and the current values may elude you, but you need to at least say, "I'd like $X.XX (or £X.XX) per deck at the least," or something to that effect, with more detailed pricing for the rarer items.

Apologies, Don.

Original post updated. Now with some sort of price indication. Also added a few more decks I had stored at another residence.

5
Sent a PM, Alberto.

Updated original post with eBay listing for Uusi Blue Blood decks. Had quite a bit of interest in these decks, so thought I'd leave it to eBay if anyone wants to buy any. It would appear they are quite rare these days! (Should have bought more at the Kickstarter!)

Just a bump to say that the listings all have less than 1 hour left and all will sell.

Don't miss out!

I have a few listings on eBay that I thought might be of interest to some of you. All listings starting at 99p and shipped internationally. All listings end in 5 days.

Mixed rare(and not rare) deck collection - JAQK, Tendril, Blue RTJC, Red Stinger, Arrco

Absolut Vodka deck

Three crown decks - Black, red (v2) and blue (v2)

Arrco Tahoe Limited Edition Gold - item is slightly damaged, see listing for picture.

That's all for now. Haven't been on the board in ages, stopped collecting cards around a year ago now and this is me still trying to get rid of them all!

Hope you are all well! Happy bidding.

Just an update to say that there is less than 1 day left on the decks for auction:

Red Artifice deck currently at £29.01;
Brown Wynn currently at £16.00
Two decks of Bee Stingers currently at £14.50! That's around the price of one of these decks normally.

No reserve on these decks, so if you think that you could grab them at a reasonable price get bidding.

Updated post with Tendril decks that have arrived over the last couple of days. Sad to see them go but needs must.

BTW: I'm interested in helping out by buying the blue Crown Deck, version 1.  Let me know what you need.

EDIT: and also a pack of red Stingers - mine are looking a little shabby.
Don, thanks for the info. Also, I had already sold the version 1 Crownd decks when I read this post, sorry. One pack of Red Stingers remains if you are interested, just PM me which shipping option you'd like and your PayPal email and I'll send an invoice promptly.

14
Updated post to reflect new (raised) shipping prices. I don't want it to seem like I'm being sly, so I'm posting this explicitly. I had a couple of surprises at the post office at how steep the cost of shipping got based on the Post Office's weight and dimension restrictions, so I have kept the base cost of shipping the same, but had to increase the cost of additional decks.

I hope that you'll still find the shipping rates reasonable.

Just to confirm your email is linguist_@ hotmail.co.uk (Without the space between the _ and @) am I right? There was an error stating that the email address was invalid when I tried sending one.. Anyway I sent a request through that email address. So sorry to hear about your current situation, hope everything goes well for you in the future (:

EDIT: I didn't notice that a 'm' was missing from 'com' .... I feel foolish now... :|

EDIT EDIT: I just can't seem to figure out his email, it keeps saying it's invalid, help anyone..? @-@ Sent you a pm Linguist_, hope you see it asap (:

Sorry about the problems sending me emai, K. There are no spaces in the email at all, I just put those in to stop spambots from picking up my email. And it's just '.co.uk' no 'com's  :)

Nevertheless, I received your PM and replied. Communicating through PM is no problem, just not as prompt as through email.

Just a note for this weekend. It's the Queen's Diamond Jubilee here in UK (60 years on the throne, if you're interested) which means that many services are reduced or closed over the next few days.

Any orders made between now and Wednesday, 6th June will not be posted until at least Wednesday, 6th June. This is due to post offices being closed on the Monday and Tuesday for the Jubilee.

Thanks for understanding!

17
Items no longer for sale through forum. I will be putting them on ebay from now on.

18
For sale on eBay are the v2 Crown decks.

Price - £4.99 (US$8) each.
Shipping - a variety of shipping from £1.45 - £6.50 for domestic, £6.80 (US$10.99) for international.
Quantity - 3 of each colour (red, green, and blue) available.

This listing is most likely of interest to UK buyers. Cheapest price elsewhere in the UK for this deck is £5.99. If you find somewhere cheaper than £4.99 in the UK let me know and I'll alter the price.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Bicycle Vision (White Edition)

Received my deck today and thought I'd share some pics. I thought I'd save bandwidth and upload them to a seperate site, so find them here.

I don't have the black version of this deck, so I can't compare. My own opinion is that it's a nice deck - nothing spectacular about it. The back design and Ace of Spades is pleasing to the eye with the white works very well, I think.

Handling wise - it's a Bicycle, air-cushion deck. It handles like one. I'm not a fan of giving too much attention to handling.

I'd say that given the fact that this deck is just 'nice' and the standard faces, I would just use this deck as standard. I like using the Bicycle Ghost deck as standard and it has non-standard pip colours. However, the price of this deck makes it pretty hard to justify using it as a standard, every day deck. So, I guess I'll use it from time to time, but mostly it'll just sit in its box.

First, welcome to the forum, and second kudos on giving a reasoned and articulate response that should be conducive to constructive criticism. A thick skin doesn't hurt either, so it's good you've got that.

I suppose the first thing I would want to address before anything is the copyright problems with some of the images you use. I don't think any reputable printer would permit printing a deck that violates those.

As for a cheap, professional card manufacturer I don't know much, but I may suggest Brahma Playing Card Company from India. The owner has a thread about the company here and the website is here

I think those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...

If that's a jibe at the fact you don't like ReaganM's Ultra Ape deck, in the spirit of the meme nature of this thread:

Living your life based on the remote possibility of someone that is neither proven nor disproven to be true is not healthy. It is paranoia, and it limits everything you can accomplish.
To me, it's theists who are living like that, not agnostics. I always thought agnostics were just indifferent. It's not so simple as the idea of probability, because there either is or there isn't a higher-being.

Agnostics neither believe in a deity nor disbelieve. They just don't do either. To them, they settle on 'no one knows' and leave it be. They don't actively pursue a discussion or a intellectual notion about a god existing, and they don't actively pursue a discussion or intellectual notion about a god not existing.

There's also a wide variety of 'types' of agnosticism. One can be atheist and agnostic and one can be a theist and agnostic. One can be agnostic because they don't think it is possible to know about whether there is a god, and one can be agnostic because, while the idea is possible to find out about, it just isn't known yet.

But any agnostic person I have met just tends to be the kind of person who avoids discussions about god. I've never met an agnostic person who is irritating because of their belief - unless you find indifference irritating. Most theists I've met are irritating in a theist discussion, and many atheists are too.

I think a border wouldn't look too great on this one. I love the design how it is!!

Too late, the border has already been added. But I agree that without it would be better. Magicians should just learn to do tricks that don't involve reversed cards and choose an appropriate deck for the tricks that do have borders which are most of the decks. I think the white border looks out of place on these, and I feel the same about the Artifice. But, oh well.

Didn't a few of the users here order a brick of these? Maybe it'll be a love/hate thing. I bought two and I think they're quite nice/cute but I wouldn't want to have more than two kicking about. Good for using with kids maybe! And damn, they're sexy in a fan! But 12 of them, I wouldn't know what to do with.

I find it hard to have an overall opinion about religion since they are all so different. I am against theism, I suppose. Any religions which require a god, and any people who believe in god even if they don't consider themselves as part of a religion. The religions without a god (the most prominent one for me being Buddhism) are fine.

The reason I am against theism in general is because people who believe in god generally feel that they automatically earn my respect by considering faith and belief ofver evidence and reason. That is, people who are theists tend to say that by calling them out as being wrong is disrespectful. Perhaps it is a bit direspectful if you actively seek to chastise people, but I find theists' opinion of atheists much more disrespectful. In the large Abrahamic religions alone, atheists are cast into an eternity of suffering and pain and are considered enemies of theists. Most of my religious knowledge comes from Catholicism, since I was brought up a Catholic. The Catechism (Catholic book on Catholic doctrince) is very clear about its opinion about atheists:

Quote
(2125) Since it rejects or denies the existence of God, atheism is a sin against the virtue of religion. The imputability of this offense can be significantly diminished in virtue of the intentions and the circumstances. "Believers can have more than a little to do with the rise of atheism. To the extent that they are careless about their instruction in the faith, or present its teaching falsely, or even fail in their religious, moral, or social life, they must be said to conceal rather than to reveal the true nature of God and of religion."

While I am aware that, in the Bible at least, most of the barbaric things from the Old Testament, like being encouraged to stone a woman to death if she was not a virgin when you wed her, are absolved when Jesus came along and changed things, I still think the basic idea of Abrahamic theism is deplorable. That thought-crime is something that is okay to these people - it is a sin to think of a woman in a lustful way, doing so is comitting adultery.

I could go on, but no doubt I'd be considered as being disrespectful. Even if a Christian says to me 'but I don't think you'll burn forever in the fiery depths of hell' - you follow Christianity and believe the bible is the word of your god, so yes you do. It is against your religion to accept me as an atheist - part of your purpose as following a religion is to 'spread the word' and convince others that your religion is right.

My strong opinion mostly comes from my experiences in Brazil. Here in the UK, people are much more 'tolerant' about atheism. In Brazil, however, my experience is that people assume you are either Catholic or Protestant (protestant to them meaning any non-catholic Christian, mostly). Tell people that you are atheist and they are shocked and afronted, which I found to be most distasteful.
