It's a design that has potential but I think it's not quite ready for prime time.  It's overall a very dark design, and doing it as gold on blue for everything takes away from the theme of opulence for me.  I would have liked to have seen red on the red suited cards and silver on the black suited cards instead of gold throughout - the current color scheme lacks good contrast needed for an eye-catching look.  Plus USPC decks done with dark backgrounds tend to show edge damage very quickly.

I'd say there are similarities, but differences as well.  There's been a number of recent decks with a quasi-architectural back design to them, looking like the ceiling of a cathedral or an ornately-designed theater as seen from the center.  It's another trend, just like Cthulhu, zombies and minimalism.

It looks like we are going to fund, so maybe we will be able to offer a players edition in the future.
