I bet they take forever to break in!
Honestly, I would probably pass because the chosen metals are prone to scratching and I'm not buying cards just for placing on display. BUT...if he were to make a tungsten carbide deck...that would be stellar. On the Mohs hardness scale, titanium by itself is a 6 while tungsten is 7.5-8 and tungsten carbide (and titanium carbide) are between 9-9.5. The low end of the scale is talc at 1 and the high end is diamond (10) but there are a few synthetics that exceed a 10 such as hyperdiamonds and fullerite.
My wedding band is tungsten carbide. Not only does it have a shine comparable to platinum, but it's nearly impervious to scratches! The only flaw it has is, like a diamond, it's brittle and a sharp impact can cause it to shatter.
Now THAT would be an AWESOME pack of throwing cards!! Heh, heh, heh...
