I went to the local flea market here recently and picked up these 2 decks

English on one side, french on the other.

For $1 a deck.. I'm happy!

But it would explain all the terrible decks on the market recently.

It would have been better if they had beef jerky in their hands.

When I bought them off ebay, I asked the seller if he had 2 because I like to buy 2 of every deck.  He didn't
Here's the link to the auction I won
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Sealed-Bicycle-Jack-Links-Playing-Cards-/180706881108

He won them in a contest from Jack Links.  There were 1,000 given away.
____________________________________________________________________

I was originally looking for the 2011 WSOP playing cards, and I still am.

There was a huge conspiracy with them...
"Miguel and Clive have finally been exposed and then admitted to paying off an employer of the card manufacturing company Bicycle, that has manufactured the dodgy marked cards in the 2011 WSOP $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Event.

Miguel and Clive owned up and admitted to getting the cards marked during the manufacturing process in the hopes that their investment would pay off if they won a WSOP bracelet.

The devious plan was thwarted by Jon Turner – PearlJammer – who spotted that the low cards in the Bicycle deck of cards were marked. A new deck of unmarked cards was called for but all the cards decks manufactured by the Bicycle card company were marked the same."

There are 2 different colors... the one shown above and red.

Has anyone come across these??

Here are some stories related to the controversy

I have heard that story about the scandal before CBJ, its quite interesting. Would be quite a nice piece of history to get your hands on. I have also been trying to find some online but to no avail. Keep me posted if you find any

Excuse my childishness while I laugh at the name of the second URL you have listed.

WOW.. I never even noticed that link name LOL

Anyway, I contacted the Rio casino (where the WSOP is being held), and they have none for sale and had no info on them.

BTW, if anyone is interested.. the WSOP final table starts today.  You can watch it somewhat-live with a 10 minute delay on ESPN today

I'm sure guys have Flea Markets there.  I'm just outside Toronto, and I can think of 4 in my area alone.

Ask around.  Google it.... I just typed in "list of vancouver flea markets", and this came up

http://www.vancouverfleamarket.com/home/index.php

Anyway, the flea market I went to had the regular tables of cheap s#itty electronics, and all the other crazy junk.  But it also had a section with vintage stuff, antiques and collectables.  I just went from booth to booth asking if they had playing cards.  At least 1/2 did, but these were the only bicycle cards I could find.

i hope this helps

Im watching the 2011 Final table at the moment actually :P and I heard that they destroyed the marked cards (Just what I heard may not be true).

I'm not sure what cards they are using at the moment on the final table, they may of got reprints of how they were meant to be, they are deffinetly Bikes at least

Are you still looking?  I got a two-deck set from Gambler's General Store.  I just completed the flip test - no markings visible; doesn't mean they aren't somehow juiced, though.  They came in a box with the oversized USPC seals on the sides, and packaged separately were two plastic cut cards and two tourney deck ID cards which were, strangely enough, made on a paper stock similar to Bikes.

You can see if a deck is juiced by forcing your eyes to lose focus, which isn'T exactly hard to do. Or if you're short-sighted, just look at it from a distance and you'll see the markings.

Hey Don,

Yeah, I've been meaning to pick up a set or 2.

I was hoping to get some of the ones that were marked, but I would imagine USPC would have destroyed those.

GGS is USPC's official retailer, they still had them at a reasonable price when I looked last month.

Bear in mind the markings were very hard to spot - they were only discovered under the very bright lighting at the main table.  The game was moved to a side table with darker lighting, since no unmarked replacements were on hand.  For a special "2-7" tournament (it was only some the low cards that were marked) they managed to dig up leftover decks from the 2010 event, considering how critical low-card info would be in such a game.

It's not impossible that the decks being sold are the real deal, since they're sealed and come with the tournament deck ID tags.  But I read an article which stated the USPC could replace the entire print run in about two days if the tourney opted to get replacements.  Only you can be the judge!

This page is offering the 2007 WSOP tourney decks - the packaging is identical to the 2011 model I got.
http://www.gamblingincorporated.com/product.php?productid=16244

Here's a dude on eBay selling them - y'know, it does look like they're selling the marked decks!  Perhaps GGS didn't make any mention of it because of their ties with USPC and the embarrassment of the fiasco for them.

If only we had flea markets in the UK...
Although, it's not likely that there would even be any USPCC decks at all. Heck, they'd all just be rubbishy plastic coated decks!
