Agree with Don here 100%, but my bigger concern is you still haven't fulfilled your past project.  Still waiting for mine anyhow after you have had them for 2.5 months, the only thing saving you is you had listed October delivery.  Still, this doesn't inspire confidence on backing again no matter how good/bad the future deck is.

Nate, unfortunately my first Kickstarter campaign was a bit of a mess. I didn't make enough money to have MPC do the fulfillment and even after the fees and everything I didn't have enough to ship a majority of the decks. So I'm having to ship them using my own money (which is already budgeted for other things). Everything is boxed up, I just have to buy shipping labels from the PO, which I'm trying to do a few at a time as I get paid. I did post an update about this on the project page already.

Thanks for the criticism, I know Zombie decks are a bit of a faux pas around here, but I also know that they have a huge following. My wife is a huge fan and wanted me to design a deck featuring them. What exactly do you think isn't up to snuff? Is it just the whole package that you don't like?

Looks like he dropped his goal down to about what he made before. USD$20 with free shipping for one deck is kind of high, I think I'll just keep an eye on it this time and see how it goes before diving in. I do like the cards but I don't know if I like them enough to spend $20 on.

Unfortunately, those were the only pictures they posted to the campaign. There's also a video, but the cards are pretty far away from the camera.

I haven't heard of Lords Playing Cards Co, and this one kind of snuck up on me, but for €8 it's a steal! And I like the design, that's part of the reason.... I think.

Expect your shipping to be about 3/4 the cost of the production (especially for MPC). With a small order like you are doing, I don't think fulfillment will be a problem for you to do on your own. The cheapest way I've found to ship in the US is a small Priority Mail box from the Post Office ($5.99 anywhere in the US), this box will hold about 6 standard tucks snugly. But you won't be selling 6 decks per order, it will be 1-2 decks on average. Otherwise, you are looking at about $16 for the cheapest international shipping per order.

Are you going to fulfill your order yourself or let MPC do it? Make sure that you have the shipping included in your final price because with international shipping it can really add up.

Are these clipart that you are using or have you actually drawn the pips/face card images? They just seem blurry and the edges don't seem very smooth in some parts.

Great job on the deck so far! I'm really enjoying the cartoon look and feel (I'd be happy to read your work if you would post a link!). Remember that, although Don is paid for his consultation, it is your deck and you make the final decisions for it. I'm really digging the "Kn" for knight, but a little food for thought: in some Spanish and Italian decks that feature a knight face card, the main way to tell the difference is that they are riding a horse. This could be something you might be able to implement.

I'd really like to see a purposefully one-way back on your cards. Like Don said, maybe use a logo or something that can tie your cards to the comic and will be fan service.

I'm speechless.

John McLeod has a page dedicated to Tarot games on Pagat.com. Nearly all European countries had the basic tarot game (a point-trick game) with their own tarot decks. From my research, I've found that the use of the tarot deck for games came much earlier than it did for cartomancy. The major arcana was just a 5th suit used as a permanent trump suit in early decks.

My first tarot deck was actually the one that came with the video game "Dishonest", even though I was interested in them before that, and it came with rules to play a game called "Nancy". It's a totally custom deck with custom Major and Minor Arcana and 4 suits based on the game.

I'm doing a few small tweaks and was working on the back of the cards. Let me know which one you guys like best.

I like this deck, mainly for the weirdness and way it uses typography.
