So I just resent the email.

Hi Don,
This is the deck that I received.

Here is my take on both this deck and also the deck that is for sale on ebay for $850.

When I made the "Private Reserve" decks I did so with the specific intention to give them only to a select few of people that were considered friends or my family. I don't feel good about charging my mother for any of the work I do.

I put the "Private Reserve" seal on a total of about 15 decks.

When I gave these decks to a select few of people I did so under as a gesture of friendship and also did so with free of charge. I know every single person who I gave these decks to and also which decks I gave to which people. I also made it clear to these people that these were gifts and not to be resold or let go of. If they wanted to let go of them I asked them just to send them back to me.

The deck that is on ebay or any other "Private Reserve" deck that is on the market in my view is worthless and a fraud. I only feel bad for anyone who had to pay a big price tag to get these as who ever the seller was (and I know who the original seller(s) are) sold them out dishonesty to me and obviously against our friendship.

Yin, unfortunately your deck has been altered even passed the point at which I passed out the private reserve decks. That is not my handwriting and I would have for sure composed the placement of my numbering a little better than to just stick the number off centered in the middle of a huge empty space. (That is just my design snob talking)

As for the deck that is on ebay for $850 was $1000 I think you should go back to the person who sold it to you and ask for your money back as the deck you have is a fraud in the eyes of the creator, and unfortunately I hope no one purchases that deck.

I have learned alot of hard lessons while being a card designer, I have also learned who to trust and also who is a scoundrel as well, as this world called the playing card world is very very small.

Hi Jackson,

Thanks for clearing it up somehow, but I received the two decks from you directly (one numbered 12 and the other 24), with the rest of my kickstarter rewards. I have no idea what to think now. Are these fakes? :(

interesting indeed. If you say that you received them from me directly from I would more than happy to send you a pair that I numbered by myself. You're welcome to send me an email (again ;)) and we can work out shipping.

If you pledge for 1 unbranded reserve during the Kickstarter there were a few that were damaged that had seals on them, that I had number to replace the damaged ones. This could be where you got them. If that is the case again send them back and I can send you ones that are numbered by me.

Yes, I received all the decks from the project with the Silver Certificates and Reserve Note. I pledged for the $75 R4 2 Limited Edition Black Reserve Note and added on the rest of the decks.

I would gladly send them to you in return for those numbered by you.

Should I send you an email via the Kings Wild email or are we able to correspond by PM here?

Thanks Jackson!

Hi Don,
This is the deck that I received.

5
Just for clarity's sake, I'm posting the photos here since photos at eBay have a tendency to disappear after a number of weeks after the auction/sale.  It's now selling with a "Buy It Now" of $850 and a "Make Offer" option.  Still sounds high to me.

Yin, do your decks look EXACTLY like this, A LITTLE like this or NOT AT ALL like this?

Hi Don,

My decks looks the same with the exception of Jackson's signature at the bottom of the deck and instead of the words Private Reserve, it has Black Reserve Note on it. And on the hologram above JAckson's printed signature, is a handwritten number....

6
It was only yesterday that I realized that the Black Reserve Note decks I received were kinda different. Been a while since I got them so I was a bit curious about the price, so I did a search. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the decks I have didn't have the number printed on the hologram like in the pictures that I saw. For example, 1xxx/1550 or 3xx/1000. All mine has is Jackson's hologram with signature printed on, with the Black Reserve Note words on it and a hand written number. I received my decks as rewards for pledging during the kickstarter campaign. Does anyone has these?

Thank you,

I think this will be a breakthrough project for them - it's their first "non-poker" deck!  There's an entirely different audience that goes after tarot decks and there will be a lot more interest in this project than you'd normally expect to see from an Uusi design.  I predict this will be a very huge hit when the dust settles, possibly their biggest.

Don, I'm not too familiar with Tarot decks, but other than fortune telling, are there certain card games that can be played with the deck?

I pledge almost anything from UUSI (7/8) thus far and I really enjoyed the different decks they put out so far. And the redwood items are really amazing to own.  :D

Thanks for letting us know!
I have a deck which I bought a long time ago (one of my first decks!) and I thought they look strangely familiar! =P

I feel that it's more of a European theme and I'm loving it. :bosswalk:
Kinda sad that it's going to be their final deck though :(

Plain and simple, gilding is a costly process that has to be done by hand.  The process to this day has not been automated.

He's right - making design changes to the series as a whole now is much simpler than having to "retcon" things afterwards or simply having an inconsistent series of decks.

I simply beg of him to GO EASY on the number of decks in a project.  Deck bloat is becoming a serious turn-off for me.  A simple project whose decks I really like suddenly costs an arm and both legs if I want the full set before time runs out.  A more gradual roll-out in separate projects makes the decks easier to manage financially, particularly for people wanting either complete sets or simply a healthy number of some of the designs.  When there's more than two or three designs to a project, it just gets tougher to keep track of and there's bound to be some people left dissatisfied.

I would just like to say that I agree with Don about the number of decks being offered in a project. Deck Overload? :P
It's become a turnoff and I can't afford to purchase so many of 3, 4 deck "sets", so I had to do without a few others. I usually buy about 4 decks of each so that I can keep one and play with the rest and it's more ideal because of the international shipping. To ship 1 deck costs about $8 and 4 decks about $16. So when there is a 4 deck project I usually pledge for 2 sets, or just 1 when I'm feeling the pinch that month.
Also, sometimes there might be a deck in the "set" that I don't like, but it gets bundled together in a cheaper price than when purchased or added on seperately.

I really dislike being an international backer ... all the extra money that could have gone to buying more decks :P

Pledged for 3 and will add more when the other deck gets unlocked.

Kinda bummed that I missed Requim, and there are sites selling them for $27 each? So doubt I'll be getting any of them :(

Hi Jackson,

I've been a backer of all your decks since the Fed52, and I must say, everything looks so good and I love everything so far. Waiting for my Sherlock Holmes decks now :D
I'd usually just open one deck and keep the rest because of how pricey they are to me, being international as well.

Was wondering, would it be possible to produce a cheaper deck just for playing with friends?  Maybe in the range of $5-$7 per deck? It can be unlimited and you always have them in stock, but with your own style in the design.

Just a suggestion :P

I was also thinking the same thing, Shade :)
But then I also thought, since they are without cellophane they can still be opened, and looked at, touch and enjoy the art (like Jackson said).

For me, I think I will definitely keep those to look at from time to time.

Now I just need a 2 LE set to open up... :P

Hi, I agree with Don about the limit number of decks per buyer. 2 decks would be more feasible as it allows for more buyers.

I've pledged for everyone of Uusi's decks since Bohemia (was kinda late to KS and missed out on BB :( ) and I'm very happy with everything thus far. It seems like they are trying to outdo each deck everytime ;)

I love Shane's work and it's sad that it didn't work out between them. They were doing so well together.
Honestly, I would like Shane's take on this issue. Did he get kicked out (sorry to put it this way) because it was decided that he should not be paid for work other than for his art?

I think, at this point of time, you guys are one of the most dependable and unique card designers out there today, and I will pledge for whatever with the knowledge that I have the assurance that it will be a uniquely designed deck, high standard, delivered ON time, decks arrived without a scratch or dent on them and it will be a collectible deck. Always.  :D

15 decks, uncut sheet, and 20 dice nowhere to be found. This project is the last Kickstarter project I will ever back.

I pledged for 12+2 decks (2 added later after KS ended by paypal) and 20 dice and I've yet to received my items too. He did say that he's sending out international orders so I'm still waiting on them.

If it helps, Uusi is one of the companies which I would back everytime. I pledged for their Bohemia deck and they delivered in spades. They were on time and every items of my pledge arrived without a scratch or dent (which is rare for me, because all my pledges for decks all have at least one that arrives damaged).  :)

Oh boy. I missed out on Blue Blood (got them off BMPOKER), backed Bohemia and I'm definitely backing this one!
Question is WHEN? :)

$15 a deck?  Whoa.  I guess Albino Dragon thinks their past success justifies the price.

Yes Don, I did like the deck a lot. Shane is an amazing artist and I really like the cards. But $15 and $10 for international shipping is $25 for a deck of cards :(
They seems to be increasing the price per deck. Cthulhu was $7, then White Rabbit $11 and now $15. Sigh...

Argh! I like the court cards and the back design but I'm still half half over the price tag that comes with it :/

I received one of mine today. I ordered 2 and for some reason I got one. I am very impressed with these. The new finish on the box is interesting. The cards are unique, beautiful, and just awesome!

Hi Evan, would it be possible to post a pic or two (especially the tuck)? I really cannot wait to get my hands on them, I ordered a bunch!  :P

Edit: I mean I backed a bunch :P

I like the back design a lot and the court cards  :)
And especially since it's a chinese themed deck. I will be pledging for a few and giving some to my uncles (one of them loves Dragons and one of them loves Tigers lol). I'm sure they will be using these a lot in their poker games.
And thanks for pricing the decks reasonably. :)

Well I missed the Sapphire and Scarlet decks so I'm really forward to getting some of these.  :)

One question though, does anyone who ordered from HOPC before knows what's the international shipping like? Thanks in advance!

You can estimate it by placing an order without completing it.

Seems like the colors match those of the fonts in John's and Don's  titles. :)

They look beautiful. Looking forward to them.

See, now that was intentional!  Randy wanted to curry favor from John and me...  I said that was very nice of him but that I can't spend it like money, now can I?   :P

Thanks for the info, Don!
