His business acumen aside, I don't hate this deck. I'm also not into cutsey animal footprints, but theres some that like that design. It appears to be an art deck so the one way court cards are nice in that respect. If I were making an animal card game I can see this deck being useful for small children who like oversized indices. And I like his tuckbox artwork, it's cute. Unfortuantely, i don't buy 'cute' so I'm not going to be #9 on his list of $12.01 pledgers. By the way, why the add on at full price? No discount for buying multiple decks? Am i wrong to incentivise people to buy more than one by offering a buck or two off for add-ons?
I 'like' the deck. Not enough to buy it and I definitely am uncertain how much work he put into the planning of launching this with USPCC. $12,500 seems like an awfully big number. He should be asking for pledges to cover his cost, the extra decks is where he should plan on making his profits or if he manages to make over his goal he can earn some early retail sales there. If I were a betting man on this project succeeding, I'd bet my pet rat terrier (God I hope I lose).
