How many decks do you have in your collection?

Way over 150...I'm currently editing my updated collection video. Should be up within a few days on my personal channel on YouTube.

Most of my decks are standard bikes because at my local store, you can buy 12 decks for $15, and they are great for tricks where you rip/ sign the card.

WOW, i wish that i could find 12 bicycles for $15! as for none custom decks i usually get studs because they are cheaper, and for some reason i like the way they feel more.

They used to be but not anymore. Now it's different quality control that makes the Studs a superior choice.

Old Studs had extremely soft stock. Softer than the current Aristocrats.

Just go to SAM's club if you have one near your house. That's where I get mine. They are generally near the toys or the books.

did not know that. well i am happy they aren't that soft anymore, but i am happy with the higher quality control cause i love the cards.

I purchased mine as a 3 deck set off of Ebay. I'm not really sure why that one deck is so hard to find by itself.

I haven't opened it lol. I don't open most of my decks.

I've seen lots of pictures of the deck, and it just looks like the artist didn't want to put any work into this.
It does stand out though lol

That makes sense. Yeah, that's the vibe I was getting. It looks like a deck I would like (the odd tilt and what not seems my style) even though it isn't very artistic.

Looks like you've got a nice collection, I'm pretty sure I've seen some of your other pictures too.

I have only been collecting for a few weeks now and my collection reflects that. I have about 32 decks and i have six more on the way. Only a few duplicates because of free decks that come with orders. I am anxious to expand my collection and i know that it will grow over time.

Less than fifty cents a pack for casino-quality Gemacos with TechArt faces, including the shipping. I bought a half-gross each of green (smooth finish), orange and gold (both linen finish). The backs are full-bleed, like Bee Diamond Backs. I occasionally use them for tricks that destroy cards, but I've been giving many of them away at the hospital where I perform in the pediatric unit every Wednesday. The kids love getting a deck I just did some tricks with and it's something to keep them entertained when I'm not there.

It's just a goofy, quirky deck. I picked it up for a laugh, and I can imagine messing around with them for card routines. Fan them just the right way and you can make all the cards below the top card look blank. You can try the "self-printing deck" trick and say they came off the press too quickly...

BTW: why oh why don't you open some decks and have some fun with them?

Yes, I will do what you said. I also do the same thing with E T11 and D&D as I get bonus discounts, prizes, reduced shipping, etc. Also, I don't open all the decks at the same time, I open them only when I need a new one, so, that way, I have a good surprise every now and then.

My database tells me that I currently have 1488 displayable decks, 15 rolls, plus 154 decks in quantities (more than 3) that I will eventually get rid of. I keep adding when I find an interesting deck at an Estate sale or online.

I also put my cards in shoe boxes. And I put those in an old, 18h century chest.

There really isn't a strict way to count it. I did overall decks including multiples of the same design. Others also did this, but some people like to go by individual design. It's whatever fits your fancy I think

I saw that video. Great collection. Too bad you don't have some of the rarer decks as well as the second color for some decks.

I just looked back at my vote from 1 1/2 months ago and changed my vote from the original 21-50 decks to the grand 151-200 category. Great progress huh?!

Yes, that's actually a fast-growing collection. Keep up that pace and you'll outstrip my collection in about a year or so.

Well considering I got about 44 decks in today, and although they are multiples of eachother (really only 4 different decks, but I needed to order multiples for discounts, and in the case of the Mana deck, shipping) I have just passed over the 200 deck mark.

A couple weeks ago I got 5 separate packages with a total of 86 decks. All on the same day. Now I've slowed down my playing card-buying.

Yes, this is the most in one day for me, and I plan to not buy any for a few months (other then Seasons of course).

Your tone is rude and condescending... And who cares if you have max 2 of each deck? Do you believe that somehow your collection is better than those who have bricks? The only thing that tells me is that you don't have enough $ to purchase bricks of a deck that you like... I don't have many myself, but I have a few... Why don't you talk to your "Sponsor" and see if he'll cut you a deal on some bricks... That way you don't have to be so upset... Your words reek of jealousy... Enough already...

Not wanting to turn this into a full-scale debate but:
1) I don't think he has a sponsor yet
2) I don't think he was aiming at anyone when he was talking about a brick. I think he just meant he had 500 different decks without counting multiples.

I probably have around 500 non-duplicates. A long time ago when I didn't have "constrictions" for my collection I bought a large 400 deck casino auction. Almost all were unique (in the sense that there were 3-4 different colors of one casino were still different). They were used but in good condition and got them for a steal. It's not a stretch to think others haven't come across these occasional auctions of cards.

I didn't see his comments as a put-down. A little bragging, perhaps, but that's kinda the point of topics like this! He chooses to collect his way, others collect their ways, everyone's happy. Relax, man, take a nice deep breath and let it out... It's all good in the 'hood, 'k?

I picked up eighteen bricks of uncanceled decks from a cruise-to-nowhere casino company that went bankrupt, so yeah, I can relate. I've been giving the decks out to kids at the hospital where I volunteer, so now I'm way down, maybe five bricks left and going at a rate of about six decks a week.

I've been thinking of a replacement deck I can get that wouldn't break the bank but still be decent enough to use for magic. Best I can think of it Streamlines from Walmart - decent quality and only $1 a pack. The problem is that I'm not in a position right now to buy in bulk from Walmart or anyone else, since I'm saving up for my wedding in August. Plus I'd probably have to pre-order in a decent quantity as well, since the store's not going to have more than the usual quantities on hand.

If someone's got a good solution, I'm all ears.

We're veering off topic, so I'll end here by saying that I'll order some soon and maybe put up a topic if anyone wants to donate to the cause. I'll do for them like I did for Jason Brumbalow when he sent me decks to give out - I'll personally tell the recipient who it was that gave me the deck to give to them. But yes, back on topic, or close to it...

Most decks received in a single day - had to be those 18 bricks I mentioned; 216 decks in three boxes. I just checked again, I have only 3 bricks and about a half-dozen decks remaining.
